C'est Thibault, j'ai 17ans, je vis à Rodez vers le Sud de la France. J'ai eu mon Bac S cette année. Mais mon orientation ne me plait pas. Ayant un an d'avance, j'ai donc décidé d'en profiter pour partir quelques mois en Angleterre histoire d'améliorer &perfectionner mon anglais. Avant de reprendre mes études l'an prochain.

Je veux partir à Londres plus précisement.
Je ne sais pas trop comment m'y prendre. C'est pour ça que je vous demande un peu d'aide, de conseils, de réponses quoi.
Il s'agirait d'un voyage de quelques mois, environ 3-4, dans la capitale anglaise, durant lequel je devrais trouver un job &un logement. Je pense à être hébergé chez une famille (grace à un correspondant) ou trouver une colocation (le prix des loyers étant assez élevé) &ensuite peut-etre chercher une boulot une fois là-bas (y parait que c'est pas trop difficile). Je n'ai pas spécialement un gros budget. J'imagine juste trouver un logement (avec quelqu'un ou chez quelqu'un) ou un travail (même simple). Bref, je ne sais pas trop encore. Je ne sais pas si c'est réalisable vraiment. Mais c'est un réel projet !

Figures toi que j'étais en train de chercher exactement la même chose que toi sur internet lorsque je suis tombé sur ce forum! En effet, je suis dans la même situation : j'ai 17ans, j'ai eu mon bac (ES) cette année, et mon orientation (prepa hec) ne me convient pas non plus. J'habite dans le sud de la France (Marseille).
J'ai pour projet de faire un iut l'année prochaine, mais j'aimerais d'abord profiter de cette année pour partir quelques mois dans la capitale londonienne 😉 dans l'intention de perfectionner mon anglais.
J'envisage donc (si j'y arrive 🤪!) de continuer la prepa jusqu'aux vacances de la toussaint, puis d'arreter pour preparer/chercher comment réaliser une telle ambition... Je partirais donc d'ici janvier 2009 (j'aurai alors 18ans) si c'est vraiment possible!
Tu l'auras compris, je suis donc interessé comme toi par toute information! (As-tu la moindre l'idée pour trouver un logement, un petit job, ... ?)

En fait, il semble indispensable de savoir où loger avant de partir. J'ai une correspondante à Londres qui pourrait, je pense, m'héberger quelques temps avant de trouver une collocation ou de faire autrement. Ensuite, pour le travail, je crois qu'il vaut mieux chercher une fois là-bas..

Je viens de tomber par hasard sur ce forum et donc sur ton message. Tout comme toi je cherche à partir en Angleterre, à Londres de préférence, mais je ne sais pas encore comment. En fait, je t'explique rapidement : début septembre je suis partie 3 semaines dans le sud de l'Angleterre, en tant que fille au pair. Seulement, je me suis retrouvée en pleine campagne, c'était mort tout autour, donc la déprime totale! De plus, la mère de ma famille d'accueil me considérait pas mal comme sa bonne. Enfin bref donc là je suis retournée en France. Et je trouve ça vraiment dommage d'être rentrée, parce que je comptais sur cette année pour partir perfectionner mon anglais. Alors maintenant je suis en train de fouiner un peu partout pour savoir comment je vais partir. J'envisage de le faire en Janvier, jusque fin juin/début juillet maximum.
Au fait : je m'appelle caroline, je viens d'avoir 20 ans.

Si tu veux, c'est un peu pareil pour moi.. Je sais pas trop, encore assez perdu. Mais j'ai sérieusement envie de partir quelques mois. Une collocation serait bien ! Non ? Après je pense que trouver du boulot sur place sera pas trop compliqué.. Voilà.

J'explique pas mal dans le premier message de la discussion. J'ai sans doute fait un mauvais choix d'orientation donc j'espère profiter de cette année pour réaliser cette expérience. C'est à dire partir quelques mois (3-4 environ), à Londres, trouver si possible une colocation (parce que c'est plus sympa &moins cher) avec des personnes qui veulent faire comme moi, trouver aussi un job (ce qui est apparament pas trop compliqué) histoire d'amortir le voyage.. J'ai un contact avec une correspondante là-bas. Donc voilà. Une aventure qui pourrait etre géniale quoi !

Je faisais un BEP Hôtellerie Restauration. Je travaille maintenant à inter marché; mais ceci n'est que temporaire.
Je travaille pour en fait me payer un voyage en Angleterre que ça soit Londres ou autres destinations... Cela m'est égal.
Voilà mais bon ça commence un peu à me gonfler lol parce que il est vrai que la vie là bas est cher. Et j'ai l'impression qu'il faudra que j'attende longtemps avant de partir alors que mon but est de partir quand même tôt: je profite de ma belle jeunesse lol.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
