Nous allons arriver à Conakry dans le courant du mois de Novembre et sommes à la recherche d'informations pour notre installation.
J'ai parcouru le forum et les quelques discussions en cours, mais j'aimerais bien avoir des avis/expériences sur la vie dans les différents quartiers de la ville, notamment par rapport à la fréquence des coupures de courant (et d'eau ?) : Camayenne, Ratoma, Dixinn, Minière etc. et également sur la façon dont vous avez trouvé votre logement : reprise de maison d'expats, contacts locaux ?
Si vous avez connaissance d'une maison qui se libèrerait bientôt, nous sommes potentiellement intéressés !
Salut à vous, concernant les quatiers, l'ideal si vous voulez de l'eau et du courant 24/24 c'est de s'installer au centre ville, pour les logement, il y a des agences mais c'est chère, surtout en ville, un appartement 3 piece vous coutera 500 euros par mois (climatisé, meublé...)
Apres en banlieue, le courant ne vient qu'à partir de 18H jusqu'au matin, l'eau est assez frequente normalement, mais les loyer sont beaucoup moins chere, vous pouvez trouver une villa à étage 5 chambre, 4 douche, salon cuisine bien faite pour 1.000.000fgn par mois soit environ 150 euros par mois, vous rajoutez cent euros vous avez la piscine, mais là, il faut avoir des relations, et ne pas passer par agence!
En gros l'ideal est d'avoir des connaissance sur place pour un logement que se soit en ville ou en banlieue.

Voila, on me propose un poste Expat, à Conakry. Je connais un peu l'Afrique et en ce qui me concerne je suis assez excité d'avance.

niveau nourriture je n'ai jamais été malade, généralement on dit d'éviter les crudités... pour les souvenirs il y a plein de vendeurs de sculptures, masques, bijoux etc face à l'hôtel Camayenne (actuellement en travaux), c'est le plus facile à t'indiquer et ils sont regroupés, mais évidemment il y a plein d'autres lieux... on trouve en ville de l'artisanat de cuir très bien travaillé.

Pas de quoi Framboise,
concernant les soirées après le boulot, il y a les bars, les maquis et les boîtes de nuit. La résidence Moussoudougou ou le restaurant « les jardins de Guinée » sont des viviers d'expatriés, personnellement je ne suis pas spécialement fan.
Je ne sais pas ce que tu entends par « communauté d'internationaux », il y a des bandes de potes, qui changent au gré des nouvelles affectations et des mutations, mais tout dépend des rencontres que l'on fait... de toute façon il y a si peu de choses à Conakry que toute initiative est la bienvenue pour créer l'événement !
Bien entendu, les îles sont super agréables le wik.
Pour le boulot de ton amoureuse, je ne sais pas quoi te répondre ne sachant ni quelle est sa branche, ni quelles sont ses aspiration, ni vraiment quelles sont les possibilités d'emploi en Guinée. Elle trouvera sans doute assez facilement un poste en contrat local : il y a des ONG internationales, les agences des nations unies sont presque toutes présentes, et les boîtes privées internationales recrutent probablement de temps en temps... Dans l'enseignement c'est assez facile de trouver quelque chose mais il ne faut pas voir cela comme une activité lucrative.
Vous vous rendrez bien compte rapidement de ce qui est possible ou non, si tu veux me dire en MP si elle a une formation ou un profil professionnel, je pourrai peut-être te donner une réponse un peu plus précise (mais pas sûr !).

je ne connais pas Labé mais je suis allée à Dalaba, également au Fouta, et il n'y a même pas de moustiquaires dans les hôtels tant sont faibles les risques de se faire piquer.
Je ne suis pas médecin, je peux juste vous dire que je vis en Guinée sans traitement et qu'en cas de fièvre et de test révélant un palu, alors il faut prendre la malarone en curatif (4 comprimés en deux prises, à trois jours d'intervalle) ; mais les petits palus ne nécessitent pas de traitement à la malarone il y a des médocs moins chers, moins forts et quand même efficaces (d'après des vieux routards de l'Afrique).
Au Fouta il fait frais, prévoyez une petite laine pour le soir !
