Hello everyone, I’m going on a trip to Egypt, and I booked it through a travel agency (Fram). The trip is in October... After reading my contract more closely, I saw that the visa would cost me 95 €, but if I apply for it in advance, it’ll only be around 25 €. I can’t find the link that lets me do it myself, for a fee of course. Can anyone help me? Thanks a million!

Hello everyone, Some tour operators or agencies ask you to pay for the visa or not. If it's written in the contract, you won’t be able to avoid it, so there’s no point in getting your visa in advance. Plus, it’s often useless—there are often issues with e-visas, and the same goes for getting it on arrival. Some let you choose, but in that case, they might ask you for local transport fees if they have to take you to the boat (for a cruise or hotel). So, in short, if it’s in your contract and you have no choice, you’ll be forced to pay them for the visa, knowing that you’ll have to fill it out yourself once you’re there. Also, if you’re traveling with a passport, no problem—it’ll be handled on it. With an ID card, you’ll need to bring two passport photos (one is enough), the photo will be stapled to the yellow immigration card (visa), and the fiscal stamp will be added along with the customs stamp when you pass through. Both passports and ID cards must still be valid for six months after your return date. Thoutmosis

Hi, My reply might be a bit late...

For French citizens, the Egyptian visa costs $25 (around 23 €) for 30 days, payable in cash upon arrival. Alternatively, it's now possible to apply for the visa online (at least 7 days before departure) via the website: https://visa2egypt.gov.eg. The applicant must provide a scanned copy of their passport in JPG or PNG format. The file should not exceed 500 KB, and the filename must not contain any spaces or special characters. However, due to potential issues with e-Visa processing, getting the visa on arrival is still preferable if possible. Have a great trip! !

Hi everyone, Forget the E-visa—I never recommend it. The slightest mistake and you’re in for a nightmare trying to get a refund. So, as long as it’s still possible, get your visa on arrival and pay either in cash or by card. Recently, when you arrive, you can scan a QR code in the exchange agency hall and get your visa through the app. And if you’re traveling with a tour operator or agency, you’re usually forced to pay for the visa through them, plus all the extra fees that come with it. It’s rare to find a company that doesn’t do this. Have a great day! Thoutmosis
