Car rental between Montreal and Rimouski

Hi there (it feels weird coming back here after a few years... 😉),

Are there any options to rent a car at a reasonable price when arriving from France at Montreal-Trudeau Airport for a few days, with a "drop-off" in Rimouski? And vice versa a week later between Rimouski and Montreal? For a European planning to book the round-trip week-long coastal route along the North Shore between Rimouski and Blanc-Sablon, if they’d rather not pay for a full week of car rental when the vehicle would just be sitting unused, this could be the perfect solution...

Thanks for your insights! 🙂

hey, It *does* feel weird getting back into the VF groove! If I were you, I’d definitely take the bus via Quebec City—renting a car with a one-way drop-off is probably gonna cost way more! From Montreal to Rimouski, you’ve only got a 30-minute transfer in Sainte-Foy. Safe travels, and enjoy your cruise on the Bella Desgagnés—heard it’s amazing! Can’t wait to read your review! 😛

Hi there, Thanks for the suggestion. It’s a solution that, according to Busbud, costs a bit less (around 300 € for 2 round trips based on their individual one-way fare) than not using a vehicle for a week (about 400 € based on rates found for 18 days in June). That said, the whole journey is a little less "comfortable" from the airport in this case. For now, it’s still in the planning stage—just thinking it through 😉

Up to you, but if I may suggest, you’d be better off going directly to the Orleans Express website to book your ticket and signing up for their newsletter for any future promotions! https://www.orleansexpress.com/fr/ For the rental car, you’ll also need to plan where to park it during your cruise—I’m not sure you can leave it on the street or in a municipal parking lot for a whole week.
