Ma mere de 72ans a fait une grosse pneumonie
on n est arrivee aux urgence , elle avait moins de 50% oxygene et avait 40% de
passer la nuit vivante ( elle etait mourrante )
Elle n a pas voulut qu on la soigne jusqu a quond nous disent que si c etait
par rapport a l argent il n y avait pas de problemes ,
l hopital avait des fonds "found" pour cela ! donc ils ont decider de la soignier
et ma mere a accepter
malheureusement elle est tomber dans le coma dans la nuit , sous oxygene artificel
et on l a reveillie 2 jours apres
elle s en ait sorti...
Apres 3 semaines d hopital j ai reussi a l evacuer vers la france sous oxygene par avion
tres fatiguee...
retour a hopital pour elle en France pendant 10 jours
15 jours apres cela
je recois un coup de telephone de
l entreprise
BDM qui s occupe de regler les factures entre hopital privee et patients etranger
A mon Gand etonnement parce que pensais qu on n allais en rester la puisque ma mere n a aucune
assurance voyage ext....., j ai payer le biliet ...
et vu comment cela s etait passer
et ce qu on nous avait dis !
Et c est marquer dans le dossier apparament m a t on dis

elle m a envoyer un dossier a donner a ma mere

As tu reçu le décompte exact des soins reçus parce que peut être qu'une partie a déjà été prise en charge par l'hôpital comme ils te l'ont annoncé.... c'est peut être "le reste à payer"... Ca peut paraitre une somme énorme mais vu les soins qu'a du recevoir ta mère et quand on connait le coup de la santé ici ca ne me paraît pas si énorme😕.
C'est encore une fois à souligner : on ne part pas aux US sans une assurance santé béton. Je vis aux US depuis 8 ans et c'est la première chose que je dis (mes parents inclus) à tous ceux qui veulent venir ici en vacances!!! ESTA et assurance!
Si c'est effectivement la somme qui reste à payer alors tu peux toujours essayer de négocier pour elle une ristourne ou un étalement de la dette. C'est possible pour les non résidents et les hôpitaux préfèrent négocier plutôt que perdre de l'argent.
Sinon en ce qui concerne un risque éventuel si elle se retourne aux US sans avoir payé, on ne peut malheureusement pas te répondre. Je dirais qu'à priori à l'immigration ils vérifient surtout si tu n'es pas une menace pour la sécurité intérieure ou un potentiel futur immigrant illégal. Je ne pense pas qu'ils croisent leurs données avec un éventuel fichier des factures impayées des non résidents, surtout si elle ne s'étale pas dessus sur Facebook ou autres réseaux sociaux.... mais bon depuis les dernières élections on ne peut pas être à l'abri d'un durcissement des contrôles et de la communication de certains fichiers (IRS, hôpitaux...) à l'immigration surtout si ils sont étrangers....
Elle est rentrée donc c'est déjà ça mais je conseillerai de payer ou de négocier avant de revenir ici...
Maintenant à voir si c'est applicable pour des non résidents... Perso, je pense que ta mère étant en France ne risque pas grand chose en ne payant pas surtout si elle n'a pas l'intention de revenir aux US mais si elle t'as listé comme contact "famille" ou autre ici, ils peuvent sûrement essayer de te harceler toi.... 😕 mais je n'ai pas de réponse 100% sures.... il faudrait qu'elle consulte en France un avocat spécialisé en droit international pour avoir une réponse plus certaine.

J'espère que tous ceux qui lirons ce sujet comprendrons qu'il ne faut jamais aller à l'étranger, particulièrement aux É-U sans une bonne assurance maladie.
Le vol est trop important dans un voyage pour ne regarder que le prix.
Bin je dirais aux US pour toi pour ce qui concerne le fait que tu sois le parent "résident/citoyen US" (donc sous le coup du droit US) d'une personne non US citizen et qui réside à l'étranger avec une medical bill ici. Cela pourra te rassurer (ou pas 🤪 ) sur tes droits.
Et en France, pour elle, pour savoir si une compagnie de recouvrement US a le droit de poursuivre et comment, un citoyen français sur le territoire national français.
Vu les sommes en jeu, je pense que ça vaut le coup. Tu cotises peut être à une assurance juridique par le biais de ton employeur. Renseigne toi la dessus.

Une facture impayée à l´etranger n’a aucune incidence. Il est impossible de récupérer l’argent si la personne vit à l’etranger, et cela ne l’empêchera pas de voyager ni de revenir dans le pays’.
Le Canada a aussi ce problème (étrangers qui reçoivent des soins, mais quittent sans payer). Je sais que le Canada a des ententes pour faire du recouvrement dans certains pays avec qui ils ont des ententes via certaines agences de recouvrement, mais entre les États-Unis et la France je mettrais ma main au feu qu’il n’y en a pas.
L’immigration et les services frontaliers n’ont aucun pouvoir à ce sujet, ce n’est pas leur mandat. Ça ne relève pas des lois fédérales.

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...
But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.
After all that, and even though I’ll obviously contact the relevant authorities in each country (fingers crossed for a response 😛), here’s my question:

I have several chronic conditions (including asthma and related ones), and I’m planning to travel for a year across different countries.
Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.
I plan to bring my prescriptions with the INN (International Nonproprietary Name), as well as the original packaging (even though it’s a nightmare, but from what I understand, it’s necessary). But I’m not sure if that’s enough...

The suspected origin is contamination in Namibia by jackals.
The contagion seems to be spreading.

It’s the bite that transmits the disease.
There are so-called "furious" forms with aggression, but also forms without aggression.
