sinon aujourd'hui par exemple grosse tempête en direct live vu de la web.. il a fait anormalement beau sur samui en novembre et les premiers jours de décembre.. donc le temps est détraqué et donc difficile de vous assurez un temps agréable tous les jours pour les fêtes .. il faut tout de même être conscient que samui n'est pas la bonne époque mousson inversée il aurait mieux valu prendre le côté phuket (côté mer adaman) (dit multe fois ici sur VF) car côté gulf du siam même si il fait un temps clair à l'époque où vous vous y rendez la mer peut être très trouble est mauvaise. C'est dommage que les agences de voyages dans les villes ne stipulent pas ça quand on choisi la thailande..., bcp d'agents de voyage ne connaissent pas réellement les destinations proposées ou s'en fiche ils vendent comme ils venderaient des boites de cassoulet😛, donc mauvaise pub pour des agents de voyage qui se disent spécialiste.. on a des cas à Marseille pas recommandables d'ailleurs..
sinon même à phuket après des belles journées ensoleillées la semaine dernière le temps est de nouveau perturbé alors qu'en principe c'est le début de la bonne saison .....je l'avais dit sur d'autres post... les fêtes de fin d'année risquent encore cette année d'être assez humides....mais bon il fera chaud.. nous , nous arrivons le 22 décembre et bien on verra on n'est plus sure de rien....avec la planète qui part en live.. au niveau dérèglement climatique dans bcp de pays...c'est comme ça

et bien je serai vous je ne me gênerai pas d'aller les voir et de leur mettre les pendules à l'heure... le pire c'est que bcp d'agences font l'impair de dire aux clients que TOUTE la thailande en cette période de fin d'année est propice....au voyage ... et bien non ils ne savent pas qu'il y a deux périodes de mousson bien distinctes... côté mer adaman quand c'est l'hiver chez nous c'est EN PRINCIPE la bonne période et quand c'est l'été en europe le côté gulf du siam est meilleur pour la thailande......
j'espère bien sur pour vous que des belles périodes soient présentes au moins des périodes entrecoupées de nuages car quand ça tape ça tape dur donc attention même si votre peau est habituée au soleil de prendre des indices très fort.. et attention à la climatisation elle est très traitre et véhicule des bactéries bcp de touristes se retrouvent avec des grosses bronchites et angines otites sur place qui gâchent leur voyage donc prenez toujours dans votre sac ou autour de la taille un gilet pour rentrer dans les boutiques (surtout seven eleven ou family mart) dans les bus d'excursions grosse fraicheur intenable etc etc......même dans votre chambre d'hôtel si il ya un ventilateur privilégiez le ventilateur que leurs climatiseurs...
nous nous aurions aimé être informé de ces détails quand on y est allé la première fois... on a tous chopé une crève carabiné.. et sous ces latitudes ça s'enveniment très vite.. donc antibiotiques obligatoire pour se soigner vite...
maintenant dans nos bagages nous avons toujours des médocs du style augmentin (large spectre) non contre indiqué même si on va au soleil (pas d'accident de photosensibilisation) et antibiosynalar pour les oreilles si otites (on en attrappe dans les piscines des hôtels aussi faites attention.....

remarquez encore une fois le climat là bas est modifié... il fait très beau à samui on dirait même mieux qu'à Phuket (vu hier aux web cam)!!! donc si ça se trouve ils auront du bol.. tant mieux pour eux.. nous en décembre à Samui il ya un bon moment déjà... une agence m'avait mal renseignée et on a eu bcp de journées de flotte à l'époque.. et nos amis ont tenté aussi ils n'ont pas eu vraiment beau temps aux fêtes de fin d'année aussi.. bref c'est la loterie..

Actuellement, je loue une maison 12000 baths, car c' est le 1 er mois.
Je compte y rester et donc négocier le prix aux alentours de 10500 11000 , par mois pour 6 mois de location.
Je n 'ai qu'une chambre.
Mais, le mois dernier, j' en avais trouvé une a 2 chambres, raides de neuves, lotissement de 4 maisons avec piscine privé, pour 18000 par mois, et pour 15000 si louée plusieurs mois.
Pour la plongée, je ne connais pas désolé.
Location de voiture, ce n' est pas un problème, il y en a partout.
saches qu'un scoot, est bien plus pratique a Samui.

Bien entendu certains commentaires sont nuls. Aussi je prfere ne pas juger, mais me fier aux faits, la saison de la mousson n'est pas identique sur Samui , Ko Phangan et aussi Ko Tao, dans une moindre mesure, mais on sait que la mousson d'été est peu ressentie sur Samui et que plus de précipitations se produisent être novembre et mi-janvier....
Cela ne veut pas dire qu'il fait mauvais toute la journée, mais que le risque d'orage est bien réel, du reste habitant le pays, on peux le voir auxprevisions du temps sur les chaînes thaï etpour la fin de la semaine de multiples orages sont prévus, on peut regarder les webcam, voir du soleil, c'est vrai, car un orage ne dureras toute une journée....
Sur notre blog en signature, j'ai fait tout un article consacré à la saison des pluies avec des documents précis repris de la météo officielle du pays.

bonjour, je pense que je peux te rassurer car je suis actuellement dans le sud de la Thailande à Trang du côté andaman mais il y a trois jours à peine, j'etais à ko tao et à ko phan'ang et nous n'avons pas eu de pluie sauf une fois le matin de bonne heure; ce sont des averses courtes et juste après le ciel est bleu et il fait chaud ; encore ce matin à trang, on a entendu la pluie et à cette heure-ci il est 15H on a à nouveau le soleil ; il fait tellement chaud que lorsqu'il pleut 10mn on est content ! bonnes vacances !!!!!

I’ve planned a three-week itinerary for this summer, from August 9 to 27, in Sri Lanka:
Negombo – 1 night
Sigiriya and the Cultural Triangle – 4 nights
Kandy – 2 nights
Ella – 3 nights
Tangalle – 6 nights
Colombo Airport – 1 night
I know this isn’t the ideal time for the south since the beach conditions aren’t great, but we’ve booked a hotel with a pool and won’t be swimming in the sea. We want to relax after all the travel since we’re bringing our two kids, aged 6 and 8.
I know the east would be better, but (i) I’m struggling to find suitable accommodation, and (ii) it adds a lot of travel time, and my kids can only handle about 3 hours at a stretch.
I looked into Arugam Bay, but it’s a 7-hour trip back to Colombo from there.
I’ve checked every weather site imaginable, but they don’t all agree. Do you think we’ll spend our whole trip in the rain, or is the monsoon in the south mostly limited to the sea, as I’ve read?
I’m worried about ending up in the middle of a natural disaster with my two young kids, given recent events.

We’re more drawn to the Andes, exploring colonial cities, typical villages, markets, and a bit of the coast. We’ve already gotten a taste of this in Bolivia, Colombia, and Chile. Plus, we’d love to do part of it by car since we’re used to driving at our own pace and stopping whenever we feel like it. Anyway, time’s running out, and I need to decide so I can finalize a route and book the tickets!!

I’ll arrive in Singapore at the start of November for about 3 days, and I’ll leave from Bangkok in mid-November.

I’d love to hear from people who’ve visited the country and these cities during this period—basically, is it not as bad as it sounds, or should we just cancel our tickets (we don’t mind the heat, it’s mostly the rain that scares us).
I know there are plenty of indoor activities, but do you think we’ll still manage to get a few sunny days, or will it be torrential rain for our entire 2-week trip?
The only other country we’ve visited during the rainy season is Brazil (in the northeast) around the same time, and honestly, aside from a few really annoying downpours, we had sunshine most of the time and it was awesome. That said, the climate is totally different, so I’m not sure how relevant the comparison is.

Personally, I see a promising opportunity here—jumping on this adaptation to extreme climates before others do, since they’re inevitably coming.
From my own travel experience, I’ve met a few guides so far who are starting to adjust, like in Egypt, Kenya, Senegal, and elsewhere.
They avoid crowds and the hottest hours by starting their tours around 6–7 AM, when it’s cooler.
Yeah, you’ve gotta wake up early, but the payoff is so worth it. 😴
If you’ve got any great tips like this, why not discuss them in this thread and share addresses or websites where the people in charge have realized climate change is real and are adapting? 😊

Hello, We’re heading to Finnish Lapland near Rovaniemi as a family at the end of February with two kids (8 and 14 years old). We’ve got direct flights with Luxairstours. The itinerary is already set, but I’m wondering if anyone has traveled with Luxair before and knows exactly what kind of clothes they provide on the second day? The agency just told me it’s a heavy-duty cold-weather suit. I’m thinking we should get Sorel Caribou boots, maybe second-hand. Here’s what I’ve already planned:
- Thermolactyl leggings and tights from Damart for the whole family as a base layer.
- A first layer of Damart socks + Nordic Stocks socks in 70% merino wool for all four of us.
- Loose fleece layers, including some Polartec.
- Ski pants for hikes.
- For my son and me, a The North Face Himalayan down parka with a hood.
- A ski parka for my husband and my 14-year-old daughter (she *really* wants a Roxy one—I hope it’ll be warm enough).
- For myself, for the flight and the first day at Santa’s village, I’ve packed The North Face winter hiking pants, a long-sleeve merino wool top from Decathlon (thin), a fleece, and my big parka.
I’m wondering if I should just pack fleece joggers or sweatpants for the kids and my husband, at least for the first and last days, to be comfortable on the plane?
I’m also planning to buy balaclavas and neck warmers in addition to our beanies, as well as mittens for all of us. I really need advice because I have no idea—I’ve never been skiing! Also, for a 4-night, 5-day trip, should I pack a second set of base layers, like from Odlo?
Of course, I’ll be leaving cotton clothes out of the suitcase.
As you can tell, I’m someone who gets cold easily—especially my feet, hands, and ears—so that’s my biggest worry. I *don’t* want to be cold, even at -20°C during dog sledding, snowmobiling, or aurora hunting when we might be standing still. We won’t be in the city, and the kids will likely spend most of their time outside, as they usually do.
