j´ai étudié un an à Mexico mais pas à l´ITESM. J´étais à l´ITAM qui se trouve à San Angel. D´ailleurs je t´avoue que j´ai jamais entendu parler de l´ITESM. Ca serait pas la même chose que le TEC? Est-ce que tu sais dans quel quartier ça se trouve?
Pour ce qui est du logement est-ce que tu t´es renseigné du service intercambio de l´ITESM, ils peuvent peut-être t´aider. Moi ça avait été mon cas à l´ITAM, ils avaient une liste de maison où les étudiants étrangers pouvaient habiter en coloc.
Sinon Mexico est une ville très sympa, il y a toujours quelque chose à faire, tu ne risques pas de t´ennuyer! Seul problème des embouteillages de dingue et la pollution.
Enfin ptit conseil si tu veux éviter d´énerver les Mexicains essaye d´écrire le nom de leur pays correctement: MéXico! 😉

oui je viens de voir le titre de ton message, donc l´ITESM c´est bien le TEC. Ca se trouve dans le sud de la ville, pas très loin de Xochimilco si je me souviens bien. Je sais que dans d´autres villes il existe des sortes de chambres pour les étudiants sur les campus du TEC (c´est le cas à Monterrey ou à Guada). Ca peut être une piste...

oui en effet, l'ITESM c est la meme chose que le Tec. J'ai cherché sur le plan du metro mais j'ai pas vu d'arrêt xochimilco...ou alors y en a t il pas?

et j'aimerai aussi en profiter de mon semestre pour decouvrir le pays mais je crois qu'il n y a pas bcp de vacances la bas..??(dsl je vais passer pour un flemmard 😉) . D'apres ce que j'ai pu compendre j'aurais seulement 4 jours de vacances (spring break) sur tout un semestre.

est-ce que t´as été voir sur le site du tec http://www.ccm.itesm.mx il y a un plan avec la localisation du TEC et des info pour les étudiants étrangers (tu parles espagnol?) Pour le logement il te propose 2 options: dans une famille (ça peut etre sympa mais ça limite un peu niveau sortie et tout vu qu´ils se sentent responsables de toi c´est pas le mieux), ou sinon il est écrit que pour ceux qui en ont besoin ils peuvent filer des infos pour des logements en dehors du campus. Donc tu devrais écrire un mail au service de intercambio pour leur demander plus d´info à mon avis.
Sinon j´ai reregardé et c´est pas exactment à Xochimilco c´est dans la delegacia Tlalpan (delegacia c´est comme un arrondissement). Le campus se situe prés du perif pas très loin du stade Azteca (le plus grand du Mexique). Il me semble pas que le métro passe tout prés, par contre les bus oui c´est sûr. Au début c´est un peu compliqué pour les prendre parce qu´il n´existe pas de plan avec les trajets qu´ils font ni d´horaires mais leur destination est écrite sur le pare-brise et une fois que tu sais lequel prendre c´est bon. Tu vas voir on s´y fait vite.
Ce que j´ai le plus apprécié et bien ce sont les fêtes et notamment les fêtes de l´université organisées par les nombreuses asso étudiantes. Et puis ce qui est cool c´est qu´en temps qu´étudiant étranger t´es invité à toutes!
Le TEC est une université privée, comme l´ITAM où j´étais, donc réservé à l´élite du pays et tu risques d´être un peu surpris par le nombre de blond(e)s aux yeux bleus qu´il y a, ce qui n´est pas du tout représentatif du Mexique!
Pour ce qui est des vacances si j´ai bien compris tu arrives en janvier. Au mexique ils ont environ un mois de vacances en decembre-janvier. Apres ça une semaine pour Paques, c´est la semana santa (ou le spring break pour les gringos!) mais bon ça m´étonnerait que t´es beaucoup d´heures de cours ( c´est entre 12 et 15h par semaine en général) donc il y a toujours moyen de se prendre quelques jours de temps en temps pour aller se ballader.
Pour l´année universitaire il y a 2 semestres comme chez nous, le 1er commence mi-aout et fini mi-decembre et le second mi-janvier et se termine en mai-juin (ça dépend des exams et des facs).
Voila c´est a peu prés tout ce qui me viens comme ça, si t´as d´autres questions hésite pas.

Je m'envole dans quelques mois (août 2oo7) pour effectuer un semestre d'études à l'ITESM de Mexico City!!! Chouette, chouette!! Petit hic: je ne parle pas espagnol! Donc j'avoue que si quelqu'un a des bons plans ou des infos à me fournir concernant le fonctionnement de l'université (notamment les dates de rentrée!!!), la recherche de logements, la ville, bref un peu tout, je suis preneuse....en attendant de pouvoir déchiffrer un peu mieux l'espagnol!!!

la vie au mexique est agréable (un peu moins ds la capitale). les mexicains sont accueillants...curieux.
au niveau du danger, cela fait 10 mois que je suis a mexico D.F. et il ne m'est jamais rien arrivé jusqu'a présent. il suffit de prendre des précautions. je ne connais pas encore monterrey mais je sais que c'est une des ville les plus riches, industrialisées du mexique. Mty est américanisée du fait de sa proximité avec la frontière américaine. c'est une grde ville (deuxième du pays). c est a environ 2H de la plage..
si tu as d'autres questions...besoin d autres précisions n'hésite pas.

Cela fait plusieurs fois qu'on me demande en quelques jours suite a mon témoignage. Je n'ai pas beaucoup plus d'infos à donner si ce n'est que le campus sur lequel j'ai fait mon échange n'était pas top (TEC puebla ) et je ne me suis pas du tout éclaté. Et vu qu'on est plusieurs potes dans ce cas à être partis à des moments différents à puebla puebla j'ose croire que c'est un peu une généralité. Sans compter l'insécurité etc.

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
