Still on the same Ngo Van So street, but now at No. 18 (instead of 19) in a stunning, huge French-style house, with a garden, small dining rooms, and an open kitchen. Still just as delicious!

And how was your experience at this restaurant? I went back there very recently.
LA Larsay Globetrotter ·
AMAZING, in my opinion the best restaurant in Vietnam. The menu changed after the move, with more Vietnamese dishes.

Oh no! That’s a bit short, my friend! You could’ve said… oh wow!… so many things, really. By varying the tone.

What’s so extraordinary about it? Why is it the best restaurant in Vietnam? What are you comparing it to? What did you try?

Thanks for the "young man" of 75! Detailed comments coming as soon as a shady issue on another forum is resolved.

As for the "points of comparison," I constantly travel across Vietnam, where I’ve lived for 12 years and eat at the best places (including street food), but I’ve never had a meal here like the one at La Verticale.

Hi there,

So, was it tuna or sea bass??? :-)
LA Larsay Globetrotter ·
Tuna or sea bass? Answer tomorrow in the other forum’s discussion; it’s not boring at all! 🏴‍☠️

While browsing online, I came across a discussion on the Routard forum about this restaurant.

It’s a real shame, Larsay, to go to this kind of place and not be able to tell the difference between tuna and sea bass, or even know what you ate!

You're on this forum at 6 AM France time (where you say you live in your profile?). What devotion!!

This "kind of restaurant" is actually an exceptional establishment, as my comments will describe once the matter is settled.

Why not wait for the rest of the story, which is coming today?

It's too bad I'm posting a little message to help everyone out and this is how it turns out!!!! 🏴‍☠️

Let's leave it at that for now, please!!!

Open the discussion "News from Didier Corlou's La Verticale restaurant in Hanoi" on the Routard forum and read the long message I just posted there. Got it now?

No hard feelings, of course!

So, how was this culinary experience? We’re all ears! 🙂

I'm waiting for all the messages from those two nutjobs (who are probably just one and the same—a French expat in Hanoi who’s been hurling insults at me for 10 years under a pile of different aliases) to be deleted by the moderator. Otherwise, they’ll just do it all over again.

So, how about that feedback?

Isn’t that playground fight over on the other forum done yet?

Can you share your culinary emotions with us?
