J'ai fait une recherche sur le forum mais n'ai pas trouvé d'info concernant la queue devant VFS Paris pour dé"poser sa demande de via.
Je l'ai déjà fait au consulat quand c'était dans le 16é et il fallait arriver très tôt (genre 7h du mat) pour être sûr de son coup.
Quand est il à VFS ? ça ouvre à 8h, faut il y être avant ou bien on peut arriver à 10h ?
Rien à voir avec l'organisation du consulat dans le XVIè, à VSF tu attendras 30 minutes (un peu plus, un peu moins). Vraiment entre les deux organisations c'est le jour et la nuit. Seul défaut : leur site internet est en anglais (la partie où on remplit la demande de visa) et il faut attrapper au vol le numéro d'enregistrement de sa demande (un numéro à rallonge qu'il faut absolument mémoriser par écrit) sinon on est chocolat. 🤪

J'ai déjà téléchargé et rempli les formulaires, le numéro est bien util en effet, pour modifier certaines indications après coup...
Et oui mon pauv' mossieur, le charme des attentes interminables et par tous les temps devant le consulat indien, à bougonner contre ce pays arriéré qui traitait les honorables touristes français à peine mieux que l'office de l'immigration de la porte d'Aubervilliers traite les demandeurs de cartes de séjour, ce charme d'antan est terminé 😎. L'Inde se modernise y compris dans ses consulats en France, elle accueille dorénavant de façon moderne et efficace les honorables voyageurs français qui demandent un visa (il faudrait enquêter pour voir comment les voyageurs indiens sont traités à l'ambassade de France à Delhi ou au consulat à Pondicherry, à mon avis cela doit plus rappeler le bon vieux temps des colonies que les bureaux de V.F.S 🤪). Ces longues attentes rue Albert Dehodencq étaient une sorte d'épreuve, de mise en jambe avant d'affronter l'Inde elle-même et ses redoutables administrations, une sorte de sélection pouvait éliminer les impatients : l'Inde ça se méritait 🏴☠️. Aujourd'hui c'est trop facile, il y a même un ou deux employés qui font du conseil à l'entrée... et en plus les bureau de V.S.F. sont, je vous le donne Emile, RUE DE PARADIS 😎😎😎
Tant mieux 🙂 mais je verrai comment sont reçus mes famly friends indien au consulat de Pondicherry quand ils demanderont un visa touristique pour la France. Comme ils vivent au Kerala, ils doivent s'adresse à ce consultat et pas à celui de Delhi. Or au début des années 2000, j'étais entré dans ce consultat pour obtenir quelques renseignements et je n'avais pas senti, comment dire...., le sens du service public, au lieu de me donner des conseils ou des réponses avec des explications ou des justifications on m'avait plutôt fait sentir que mes questions étaient incongrues, comme si je débarquais de la planète Mars. A l'époque mes amis indiens n'étaient ni mariés ni avaient de situations stables au point de vue revenu, je conçevais donc très bien que leurs demandes éventuelles de visas de tourisme soient vouées à l'échec, mais ce n'est pas une raison pour traiter les gens avec condescendance voire ironie - pas mes amis indiens, moi qui venait simplement en quête d'informations - ils ne m'ont même pas signalé que je pouvais me connecter sur le site du ministère des affaires étrangères où j'aurais la plupart des réponses que je cherchaient.
Je compatis et malheureusement c'est souvent la vérité... Je me suis fait moi-même jetée par un collègue !!! à qui je voulais déposer le formulaire de demande de visa, tout tout en règle, (après tout, on travaillait pour le même service) pour mon mari. Ce petit chef, nouvellement promu, m'a rétorqué que s'il était indien, mon mari n'avait qu'à faire la queue, comme tout le monde ! et de me donner les horaires d'ouverture...
Dans le fond, il avait raison, mais entre collègues, ça laisse pantois sur la mentalité de certaines personnes ! Que dire alors de la façon dont parfois les simples quidam sont reçus...
Mais rassurez-vous, il y a aussi des employés serviables et qui font leur travail avec diligence. Mais ceux là, on n'en parle pas.
J'ai eu des echos assez contradictoires sur le temps d'attente au comptoir à Paris ...
Certains disent qu'il faut arriver à 6h du matin et d'autres disent qu'une demi heure suffit ...
Qqun pourrait il me donner des infos actualisées ??
Et pour les retraits, faut il absolument y aller le lendemain ou une semaine après est ce encore possible (contraintes professionnelles obligent !). Quid des horaires ??

Je suis allée chez VFS, je suis arrivée à 7H15, il y avait 6 personnes devant moi.
A 8h, on était une bonne cinquantaine je pense à attendre qu'ils ouvrent.
C'est rapide de déposer sa demande, (je suis ressortie à 8H30). Après, je ne sais pas combien de temps les personnes qui étaient au bout de la queue on attendu.
En tout cas, je réucupère mon visa ce soir normalement (procédure urgente)
Je confirme pour Paris ...
j'y suis aussi allée vers 7h45 et en suis ressortie à 8h30. (ca ouvre à 8h).
Il faut prévoir 3 à 5 jours pour le récuperer en procédure normale.
Nota : pensez à coller vos deux photos sur le formulaire.
En effet c'est beaucoup plus rapide qu'avant ! Donc, j'y suis arrivé à 8h et en suis ressorti à 9h. J'avais des photos noir et blanc, ce qui n'est pas recevable...J'y suis donc retourné à 10h30 la semaine d'après et et je n'ai pas attendu longtemps non plus (1 h à tout casser).
Pour le reprendre ça a duré 1/4 d'heure, j'y suis allé vers 13h30/14h30 1 semaine après l'avoir déposé. Il n'y a pas d'impératif pour le retrait à ma connaissance...
j'étais à VSF Paris ce matin afin de faire mon visa touriste pour l'Inde (demande classique). Je suis arrivé à 8h25, il y avait une vingtaine de personnes qui faisaient la queue et déjà une cinquantaine de personnes assises dans la salle.
A 8h35, j'ai pu prendre un ticket. J'ai fait ensuite la queue pendant 50 minutes.
A 9h25, je quittais l'ambassade. Comptez donc une heure environ, les bureaux de VSF Paris ouvrent à 8h.
Si vous le pouvez, je pense que venir vers 10h15 peut être une bonne stratégie car entre 8h et 9h, toutes les agences de voyage viennent ainsi que tous les gens qui veulent aller travailler ensuite.
On m'a dit que je pouvais récupérer mon passeport dans 6 jours. Les délais sont quand même assez longs. Si vous faites une procédure d'urgence, j'ai l'impression qu'on attend un peu moins au guichet, ça doit être légèrement plus rapide.
Voici un nouveau message afin d'actualiser ce sujet de discussion car je pense que les demandes de visas pour l'Inde doivent intéresser pas mal de monde!
Pour information j'y suis allé ce matin (lundi 11 février 2013). Je suis arrivé à 7h15 devant l'agence VFS du 42 rue de Paradis à Paris. L'agence n'ouvre qu'à 8h mais je voulais éviter la file d'attente interminable... Finalement je suis resté seul devant la porte jusqu'à 7h45 où en l'espace de 10 minutes une quinzaine de personne sont arrivées. Vers 7h50 les agences de voyages arrivent également et vous passent devant mais ils ont des guichets différents du tout public, donc pas de problème.
A 8h les portes s'ouvrent et il y a un premier guichet où récupérer un ticket d'ordre de passage. A ce guichet, la personne vérifie que les photos sont bien collées sur le formulaire imprimé et que ce dernier est signé. Attention, pour vos parents, en plus du nom il faut également bien indiquer leurs prénoms! Par ailleurs il vous sera également demandé de recopier à la main l'adresse de contact en Inde dans le rectangle juste au-dessus d'où cette même adresse est renseignée de façon informatique (c'est idiot, mais je n'ai pas cherché à comprendre pourquoi...De toute façon pas le choix!).
A 8h02 j'ai mon ticket et suis accueilli directement à l'un des 4 guichets ouverts. A 8h15 j'étais déjà ressorti de l'agence.
Moralité, il y a 4 guichets qui prennent 10 minutes par personne, donc si vous arrivez à 8h et qu'il y a une quinzaine de personnes devant vous, vous serez sorti aux alentours de 8h30-8h45. Pas besoin d'anticiper en venant à 7h30!

Pour les photos on peut effectivement les faire sur place mais tu gagneras beaucoup de temps à les avoir faites chez un photographe auparavant. Si jamais tu souhaites les faire sur place, prévois ton tube de colle et tes ciseaux car les dossiers ne sont acceptés qu'avec les photos découpées et collées sur le formulaire!
D'ailleurs petite précision pour les photos, il n'y a besoin que des 2 photos à coller. Aucune autre ne sera demandée donc pas la peine d'en demander davantage au photographe.
Nouvelles infos VFS! Je me rend ce matin pour déposer ma demande de visa étudiant. Tout commence bien, je fais les photos (6€ les 4), colle et ciseaux à disposition, une ou deux personnes qui attendent devant moi, nickel! Et la papatra... on me dit que la lettre d'invitation de mon entreprise n'est pas recevable car il n'y a pas le tampon de l'entreprise juste la signature... Idem pour la lettre d'autofinancement de ma banque... Le plus fort c'est que je leur avait scanné et envoyé ces documents pour qu'ils valident s'ils étaient conformes, chose qu'ils ont faites! mais ils ne veulent rien entendre... Bref malgré mon insistance pas de solutions... Je suis dc montée de Lyon à Paris pr rien... J'espère que je vais pas être obligé de passer en procédure d'urgence (53€ en plus!) et que j'arriverai à avoir mon visa à temps! Je vais essayé de faire déposer ma demande par une amie mais à voir en attendant que je reçoive une nouvelle lettre d'invitation d'Inde... Car oui il faut l'originale sinon c'est pas drole...
Si vs avez besoin d'infos sur ces docs hésitez pas car le site de vfs est pas précis et les infos qu'ils donnent pas vraiment juste... et comme c'est l'ambassade ils sont intransigeant et veulent rien entendre!

Au cas où... arrivée vers 10h (2 fois de suite) = 1h30 d'attente pour un dépôt de dossier. 45 min pour un retrait. Compter environ 3 min par personne devant vous pour un dépôt; le nombre de personnes devant vous étant inscrit sur votre ticket.
Je suppose que la meilleure stratégie, si vous êtes pressé, est d'arriver avant l'ouverture et de faire la queue devant...
C'est du bon sens, mais prenez votre ticket avant de finir de compléter votre dossier, faire les photos etc.

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I’ll explain my situation.
Unfortunately, I lost my passport, and I only realized it two weeks before my departure for a humanitarian mission in Libya. I’m a nurse, and this mission really means a lot to me.
First, I applied for an emergency passport, but it was denied by the Val-d'Oise prefecture on the grounds that a planned humanitarian mission wasn’t considered an urgent reason.
So, I submitted a biometric passport application on July 20th. Since then, the tracking has been stuck, and the town hall can’t (or won’t) give me any clear information. Every time I call, I get a different story. The last update I received was that the passport had been produced since July 23rd with a status of "about to be shipped," but nothing since then.
I’ve managed to push my departure back to next Tuesday at the latest, but I’m starting to really panic.
Have any of you submitted an application around July 20th, especially in Val-d'Oise (95)? How long did you wait between the passport being produced and it being available at the town hall? Is it normal for this step to take this long?
This mission means so much to me. I had everything organized, and I’m also supposed to attend a friend’s wedding right after near the border.

I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!
If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I’ve tried my hotel, the Lotte Hotel (which is well-known in Seoul), the airport—basically, I’ve entered at least 20 addresses, all rejected....

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

Paper documents might not be accepted.

I’ve read that China may ask for proof of exit within 30 days (flight ticket or other reservation). Since we’d be leaving by land, I’m wondering how this works in practice.

On her ticket, it only has her maiden name (e.g., Martine DUPOND).
On her passport, it’s written as Martine DUPOND épouse AVRY.
No issues for travel, I hope I did the right thing with the ticket?
Then for the ESTA, is just Martine DUPOND enough, or do I need to include the "épouse AVRY" part like on the passport?

I saw on the French Embassy in Peru’s website and the Peruvian Consulate in Paris’s site that the rule is to have a passport valid for 6 months *after the arrival date* (not the return date).
I arrive in Peru on August 13, 2019 (for about twelve days), and my passport is valid until February 16, 2020.
That’s 6 months and 3 days after my arrival date in Peru. In my opinion, I’m good to go.
But could I still be denied entry if they say I don’t cover the return date or that I’m too close to the 6-month mark?
I read on the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs website that it’s possible to apply for a temporary driving permit in China, valid for 1 month.
I’m planning to rent a car (without a driver) to explore part of the country next August, so I was wondering:
