J'ai comme projet avec un ami de partir en janvier (oui ca parrait loin) en Australie en prennant un visa vacance travail. 🙂
La question que l'on se pose est : est il mieux de passer par une agence du genre boomerang australie ou language & travel qui se proposent de prendre en charge une semaine de logement, 4 semaines de cours intensif d'anglais, la plupart des paperasses administratives (impôts, numéro de téléphone, certificat pour servir de l'alcool, service de poste restante, aide à l'ouverture d'un compte bancaire..) rdv avec des agence pour trouver un appart, aide à la recherche d'un boulot ... Le tout moyennant entre 1200 et 1500 € 🤪 (pour sydney essentiellement) ou mieux vaut il faire cela soit meme? (sachant qu'on ne connait -- pour l'instant -- personne sur place)
D'autant que par la suite nous comptons bouger à travers le pays après quelques mois sur Sydney.😛

Pour moi, passer par une agence est une perte de temps et d'argent. Avec Internet tu peux trouver facilement quand tu seras sur place. Réserver quelques nuits ou semaines dans un backpacker ou une guest house et vous verrez sur place.
Si vous êtes débrouillards et un peu intelligents je suis certaine que vous vous en sortirez très bien!!!!

je conte rejoindre l australie en 2010, je vois que ça fait 8 mois que tu es la bas, j ai une grosse question qui me tate a partir, voila l anglais, j arriv a comprendr le sujet de la conversation si ça parle pa tro vite, par contre moi pour me faire comprendre c est autre chose ! pense tu que c est un handicap ou j apprendrai trè vite ou faut il faire des cours , enfin di moi ce que tu en penses ?

Je ne suis plus en Australie depuis octobre, je ne supportais pas le soleil LOL. Nan, j'ai du réduire mon voyage de 1 an à six semaines pour raisons personnelles.
Moi je parlais déjà un peu pour avoir passer un an en Angleterre mais l'accent des Australiens et vraiment différent. Je ne suis pas restée assez longtemps pour confirmer qu'on s'y fait... mais on doit s'y faire oui. Il faudrait voir avec des gens qui y sont restés plus longtemps.
Je pense que de nombreux jeunes sont dans ton cas et arrivent avec un anglais faible. Tout dépend des raisons pour lesquelles tu pars. Si améliorer ton anglais est l'un de tes objectifs principaux alors oui tu peux toujours t'inscrire dans une école. Si tu y vas juste pour le voyage, l'expérience humaine et la découverte, pas obligatoire et là je déconseille, tu auras autre chose à faire. La question à te poser est de savoir ce que tu veux retirer de ce voyage.
On survit toujours dans un pays même sans parler la langue mais c'est sûr que les débuts sont difficiles. Il faut savoir rester humble face à tout ça et patient aussi. Les progrès se font mais lentement. Ca me fait toujours sourire quand je reçois des CV me disant : j'ai passé 6 mois dans un pays Anglophone, je suis parfaitement bilingue. Je pense tès sincèrement qu'il faut rester 2 voire trois ans dans un pays pour bien maîtriser la langue. Avant ça, c'est de la survie, puis des dicussions de base. Ca vient mais lentement.
Tout dépend des personnes mais, quand tu pars d'un niveau basique (j'entends par là scolaire) en 3 mois tu peux tenir une conversation de base avec quelqu'un (NB au passage toujours plus facile de parler avec les étrangers que des Native speakers... et ça fait du bien au moral de voir que les autres galèrent aussi LOL). Après les progrès sont plus lents et quand tu atteins un niveau où tu parles vraiment bien (par exemple, quand tu peux bosser en entreprise) les progrès se font beaucoup plus lents.
Pour le boulot, si tu bosses dans des fermes, t'as pas besoin d'être Shakespeare non plus donc franchement, l'Anglais ne doit surtout pas être un frein à ton désir de partir. Tout le monde est dans le même cas que toi là bas. On est tous étrangers !
Le seul conseil que je puisse te donner est de SURTOUT EVITER LES FRANCAIS, SUISSES OU AUTRE CANADIENS FRANCAIS. Je sais que c'ess un réflexe primitif et naturel mais ça ne t'aidera pas à progresser en Anglais du tout.
Une fois de plus tout dépend de ton projet mais si tu es jeune et que tu y vas juste pour l'expérience, l'Anglais sera vraiment secondaire, tu t'en sortiras toujours crois moi ! Après si tu veux travailler en entreprise et faire un "vrai" travail, là oui il te faudra un niveau plus élevé (et encore tout dépend de ton secteur d'activité).

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
The hectares have remained unused for years due to a lack of financial means, since the project requires what I’d call a considerable investment. As the main stakeholder, I have a minimal contribution to offer.

The project is simple:
1) Grow maize + build a processing plant to produce flour

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
