C'est un coin qui bouge et qui change, mais évidemment les prix bougent avec. Moi-même je suis médecin, j'habite Lodève, où il y a une clinique et un hôpital, et toujours une pénurie d'aides soignants. L'immobilier n'y est pas encore trop cher (appartement à Montpellier = grande maison avec jardin et piscine à Lodève), et pourtant on n'est pas si loin de Montpellier (30 à 45 minutes par l'autouroute), mais les gens l'ont découvert et les prix montent... En plus la région est magnifique.
Pour les magasins de sport : il y en a 2 ici, puis quelques uns à Clermont l'Hérault, 15 minutes de Lodève - où il y a aussi un hôpital...
Je suis Belge et papa de deux petites filles. Mon amie est Française et nous vivons actuellement en Belgique. J'ai un diplôme d'Ingénieur en Electromécanique (Bac+5, master) et gradué en électronique (Bac+3) avec 14 ans d'expérience dans la R&D et la production. Mon amie est Infirmière diplômée de France (Bac+3). Nous envisageons très très sérieusement de quitter la Belgique, et l'Hérault nous plait énormément pour un tas de raisons citées dans ce forum.

Je travaille dans une clinique, et je sais que ce n'est pas évident de trouver des infirmières, je m'imagine donc que la demande dépasse l'offre et qu'il n'y aura aucun soucis pour votre épouse de trouver du travail. Pour vous, je ne peux pas le dire, j'ai tendance à penser que les ingénieurs trouvent du travail partout... Je vois qu'actuellement c'est les magasins grandes surfaces qui s'étallent de plus en plus (Mr Bricolage, Super U, ...), et des chantiers publics partout (gare de Montpellier, mairie de Montpellier, les autoroutes, le lycée de Lodève, ça n'arrête pas !).
Je ne crois pas que vous allez regretter votre décision. C'est rare qu'on retourne en Belgique

J'ai des contacts là-bas avec lesquels j'ai des rapports fabuleux (famille), et j'ai toujours trouvé les gens assez sympa lorsque j'y allais en vacances. Mais j'ai aussi des personnes plus anciennes qui vivent en Bretagne, et qui ont vécu à Aix en Provence, et qui en garde un gout amer...la mentalité des Sudistes avec, en première ligne le fait que cesg ens sont faux, qu'ils ne se lient d'amitié que par interêt..etc etc etc. Ceci n'est pas ce que je pense, c'est ce que j'ai déjà entendu!!! Donc, je ne juge pas, je pose la question...
Le Nord de la France et la Belgique sont réputés pour leur chaleur humaine. J'ai peu d'amis en Belgique mais ce sont des vrais amis, que je vois rarement, mais lorsque je les vois, c'est comme si on ne s'était jamais quittés. Il y a de la sincérité la dedans, tout simplement. J'ai retrouvé ça en Bretagne aussi, et en Normandie, où j'ai également de la belle famille.
Alors tout quitter pour le soleil, oui...trouver du travail, ça devrait aller...mais si c'est pour ne jamais sortir de chez soi parce que les gens sont superficiels, faux...ça me fait sincèrement peur.
Encore une fois, je ne critique personne, j'analyse ce que j'ai déjà lu sur des Forums d'expatriés par exemple...
Ouf... Evidemment il faut s'adapter quand on bouge, c'est ce qu'on demande aux gens qui viennent en Belgique aussi. Les cultures sont différentes. J'ai vécu partout sur cette planète, les 5 continents, Afghanistan, Burundi, Colombie, et l'alphabet continue ainsi, il y a de tout partout.

lorsque je parlais de chaleur humaine, je ne parlais pas d'endroits aussi éloignés. je suis allé en Crête il y a quelques semaines. je ne me souviens pas d'avoir rencontré des gens aussi accueillants et attentionnés depuis bien des années!!!!
Il est vrai qu'il y a de tout partout, et votre réflexion sur les forums est pertinente.
Il est vrai qu'ici c'est des agriculteurs, avec une vie pas toujours facile, bref, comme on les trouve sans doute au fond des Ardennes... Je vois que les retraités qui arrivent ici venant du nord, sont parfois déçus. Ils pensaient qu'on leur auraient ouvert grand les bras pour participer aux jeux de boules et pastis, mais je crois que ça aurait été plutôt bizarre. Je ne les ai pas grand ouverts non plus pour les immigrants à Bruxelles.
Puis les retraités n'ont pas d'ouvertures "logiques" vers de nouveaux contacts, je veux dire métier ou autre. Je suis moi-même arrivé dans cette clinique il y a 4 ans, dans une petite ville considérée comme arriérée, et j'avais des amis dès J1, avec 10000 invitations, et assez vite une participation dans la vie associative. Mon homme a ouvert une salle de fitness, et hop encore des amis. Et comme vous voyez, deux mecs en couple, on n'a pas été lapidé ni mis sur le bûcher, autre signe d'ouverture d'esprit que moi-même je n'avais pas espérée trouver ici dans "le Sud". On a un fils avec mère porteuse, on nous a menacés de mort en Belgique (faites un peu de recherche sur google, vous le verrez), la Belgique nous avait refusé le passeport, le petit a passé deux ans dans un orphélinat ukrainien, etc. Eh bien, ici dans le sud les gens se bousculent pour nous aider.
Mais je ne conseillerais donc pas à mon vieux père de venir s'installer ici, il se mettra dans sa petite maison et il ne trouvera pas d'occasion de faire d'autres connaissances

Actuellement, nous vivons quasi dans les Ardennes, donc, la mentalité rurale nous plait énormément, et il n'y a pas de faux jetons dans notrs voisinage. Très bonne entente, chacun chez soi, et si besoin, tout le monde est tjrs là!!!!
Ma belle soeur vient de passer le we chez nous, et elle vit à Toulon, et plus largement dans le Sud depuis toujours. Très bel endroit, mais le Var me semble vraiment hors de prix... Personnellement, je trouve l'Hérault comme étant le meilleur compromis entre le prix de l'immobilier, la proximité de la mer, et les possibilités professionnelles indépendantes des saisons. L'Aude a l'air sympa aussi, mais je pense qu'il y a moins d'opportunités de travail.
Nous sommes allés à Ensues la Redonne (Bouches du Rhone), endroit très sympa et bien déservi pour le travail (Marseille, Martigue, Marignane...) et l'aéroport Marseille-Marignane qui facilite les échanges avec la Belgique... ;-) Les propriétaires de la maison étaient super super sympas, plein d'affinités, et même si nous avons moins de contacts ces derniers mois, nous allons nous revoir...

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
The hectares have remained unused for years due to a lack of financial means, since the project requires what I’d call a considerable investment. As the main stakeholder, I have a minimal contribution to offer.
