Hi, We’re planning to visit Porto in mid-February for 5 days. Is the weather still nice? I’m torn between Porto and Lisbon. Thanks

Porto is great... but if I had to choose, I'd go with Lisbon without hesitation!

Five days in Porto is a bit long.

Ideally, do both if you can 😉

Thanks for your reply. I’ll book Lisbon then. Do you think 5 days is too much? Aida

5 days is perfect. It’ll even give you some time if you want to do some day-trips.

For excursions, I don’t know enough to help, though. I only did Sintra, which I really liked.

For accommodation, I’d suggest the La Baixa district. It’s very central, lively and touristy during the day, but really quiet in the evening. So you sleep well :)

And Bairro Alto is right next door—where things get a bit livelier in the evening.

Hi there! I’m Jérémy, a French expat who’s been living in Porto for a few years now. And I can tell you, February is a great option. Sure, rain can always happen, but the temperatures are already really mild, and the sun often warms things up to over 20 degrees! Plus, the locals aren’t yet worn out by tourist season, so you’re guaranteed a friendly welcome. As for choosing between Porto and Lisbon, from what I’ve seen, everyone who’s visited both is always much more charmed by Porto—it’s more authentic, more welcoming, and more down-to-earth. Far from the tourist theater that the Portuguese capital has become! For more info and tips, I invite you to check out *brefporto*, which is a website but also the title of the book I published about my beloved city, going against the grain of traditional, commercial travel guides. To be more than just a tourist! Looking forward to meeting you in Porto! !
