Je suis nouveau depuis quelques jours sur ce forum, je m'y suis inscrit car j'ai débuté la procédure pour une immigration au Québec (DCS envoyé dernièrement) et le forum regeorge d'informations à ce sujet!
J'espère ne pas avoir ouvert un sujet de discussion "pour rien" mais j'ai fait différentes recherches et n'ai pas trouvé mon bonheur jusqu'à maintenant. J'aurais 3 choses à vous demander.

Je travaille en Suisse dans les assurances, j'ai fait une formation qu'on appelle chez nous un "apprentissage" dans une compagnie d'assurance et travaille dans ce domaine depuis env. 10 ans maintenant. Ce diplôme correspond à un "Diplôme d'études professionnelles - DEP" au Québec. J'ai fait un peu de formation continue mais sans forcément faire de diplôme supplémentaire. Malgré mon expérience de 10 ans, je me dis que ça risque d'être un peu "léger" comme papier pour espérer trouver une place de travail dans ce domaine à Montréal. Y a-t-il des personnes travaillant dans ce domaine et pouvant me renseigner? Je suis conscient que je vais pas forcémment trouver un travail dans le secteur que je veux mais ça n'est aucun problème! ça fait partie du défi et de mon projet! Mais comme je travaille dans ce domaine, je pose la question à titre informatif!

J'ai parlé dernièrement avec quelqu'un qui a quitté Montréal il y a peu de temps après y avoir vécu pendant presque 20 ans. Nous avons abordé ce sujet et il m'a dit qu'à Montréal, au Québec, les diplômes ont moins d'importance qu'ici en Suisse et en Europe en qu'on pouvait décrocher une place convenable sans avoir forcément fait de gros diplômes. J'ai aussi lu cette information dans le livre de Laurence Nadeau "S'installer et travailler au Québec", disponible sur le site immigrer.com. Pouvez-vous me confirmer cela?

Et ma dernière question concerne les langues. Ma langue maternelle est le français, étant portugais, je parles aussi cette langue, un peu de compréhension dans l'espagnol et l'italien, quelques bonnes connaissances de base en anglais (pour des conversations simples) et je maître parfaitement l'allemand car j'habite dans la partie germanophone de la Suisse. On dit toujours que les langues ça peut aider, mais je me demande si cela peut être un atout au Québec/ au Canada. Je pense pas que l'allemand est très utile. Qu'en pensez-vous?

Je ne peux pas vraiment t'aider pour ce qui est du domaine de l'assurance.
Par contre, je peux te confirmer que les langues t'aideront à te trouver un bon emploi, surtout l'anglais (vraiment important) mais aussi l'espagnol, l'italien et le portugais.
Pour ce qui est du diplome, je ne peux pas vraiment dire spécifiquement dans le domaine de l'assurance. Mais de façon générale, les diplômes sont importants... tu ne te trouveras pas d'emploi sans équivalence, même si tu as une grande expérience.

Concernant l'anglais je vois effectivement dans beaucoup d'annonces pour des emploi que le billinguisme français/anglais est important. J'ai des connaissances de base en anglais et je peux "tenir" une discussion plus ou moins simple, de là à dire que je suis billingue, c'est une autre histoire:-) Je vais peut-être faire un cours d'anglais ici en Suisse, ça peut que être utile! Un travail dans le tourisme me plairaît assez, je me suis dit qu'avec l'allemand ça pourrait peut-être aider mais d'après ce que j'ai compris au cours de mes recherches ce n'est pas une langue très utile au Québec.
Pour cette histoire de diplômes, je me suis peut-être mal exprimé. C'est un peu partout comme ça, sauf que j'ai l'impression qu'en Suisse, en tout cas dans la région où j'habite, il faut des diplômes assez élevés pour avoir quelque chose de correct. Un DEP n'est pas non plus un super diplôme ici mais d'un autre côté je compense avec le fait que je suis billingue français/allemand, très demandé à Zürich. Et j'ai aussi lu dans ce forum dans un autre sujet que il était bien utile d'avoir fait des études "post-secondaires", ce qui n'est pas mon cas!
Si jamais tu n'as pas encore trouver de réponse et que tu cherches toujours un emploi en assurance, j'ai un ami qui vient d'être engagé chez l'Industriel Alliance (une des plus grosse boite d'assurance au Canada) et ma recommandé de visite leur site d'emploi en conseiller financier.
J'espère que tout ceci te donnera un coup de main pour ton intégration et ta recherche d'emploi.
Je te remercie pour ton message. J'ai consulté les emplois disponibles chez inalco, la liste est assez longue! Certains emploi qui pourraient m'intéresser et plus correspondre à mes qualifications ne sont pas à Montréal qui reste ma priorité mais je me dois d'être flexible!

Un DEP n'est pas un "gros diplôme", mais c'est un bon diplôme. C'est mieux qu'un diplôme de plus haut niveau mais qui est non spécialisé...
Le domaine des assurances est très en demande actuellement.
L'anglais est primordial. Les autres langues paraîtront bien sur ton CV, mais à mon avis ne sera pas un critère déterminant pour une candidature...Les assurances étant un domaine "juridique", il faut parler dans l'une des 2 langues officielles du Canada pour ne pas induire en erreur.
Tu peux suivre une courte formation au Québec (ex: AEC) pour augmenter tes chances d'être embauchée. Les diplômes suisses n'ont pas trop de valeur aux yeux des employeurs.

Certains points me réjouissent un peu, d'autres moins, mais ça me donne une bonne idée sur quels aspect je dois investir.
Comme tu le dis, les langues "paraissent bien" sur un cv mais le plus important est de trouver un employeur qui en aurait besoin. Concernant l'anglais je m'y suis mis plus à fond ces derniers temps. Lors de mon arrivée à Zürich j'ai mis environ une année pour "maitriser" l'allemand et arriver à l'utiliser dans la vie de tous les jours et également pour mon travail, donc je pense que ça devrait aussi jouer pour l'anglais!
Je vais poursuivre mes recherches sur cette formation "AEC" et regarde également les différentes possibilités par le biais de L'autorité des marchés financiers. Je vais tout essayer pour pouvoir continuer dans le domaine des assurances mais j'en fais pas une priorité. Ce changement de "vie", de pays, d'habitudes pourrait également coincider avec un changement de travail car d'autres domaines m'intéressent également!
Les AEC sont des attestations d'études collégiales de courte durée. Les DEC sont des diplômes d'études collégiales complètes (3 ans). Le domaine des assurances est en croissance au Canada actuellement.

Pour obtenir un "DEC" faut-il obligatoirement passer par cette formation de 3 ans ou est-il possible de commencer par une "AEC" et en rajoutant quelques unités pour obtenir un "DEC"? Pour le moment et d'après les recherches que j'ai fait je pense plutôt me tourner vers l'AEC, quelle est la différence principale au niveau de la reconnaissance du diplôme par rapport à un "DEC".
Le DEC dure 3 ans à temps plein et contient une formation générale (littérature, philo, anglais, éducation physique) en plus des cours techniques.
L'AEC ne contient que la formation technique et est une formation un peu moins complète en ce sens. Pas de cours de culture générale.
En assurances je ne crois pas que ça fasse une grosse différence sur le marché du travail mais c'est clair qu'un DEC est plus intéressant aux yeux de l'employeur. Cela dit ce n'est pas le seul critère pour lui.
Oui, il est possible de débuter par une AEC et compléter un DEC plus tard.

Alors effectivement une AEC semble déjà une bonne solution. En effet, si je peux éviter les cours de littérature, philo, histoire, etc. c'est pas trop mal. Et si les chances sur le marché du travail sont quand même là avec une AEC, je pense que c'est le bon choix pour le moment!
Je vais maintenant consulter les sites des différents cégep pour trouver mon bonheur.

Pour ma part je commence gentillement à regarder un peu tout cela.
D'après ce que j'ai pu comprendre, il faut dans un premier temps demander une évaluation comparative des études effectuées hors du Québec.

Une fois l'examen passé, il y a une période probatoire à effectuer et enfin tu peux demander un certificat de représentant.
Après il faut encore trouver un employeur...
Mais ceci est, si j'ai bien compris, spécialement pour les agents/courtiers en assurance.
Pour ma part, je travaille en tant que Underwriteur en direction et je n'ai jamais fait de vente.
Je serais intéressée à savoir qu'elles ont été tes démarches et autres afin d'avoir plus d'information et ne pas me tromper dans mes propres démarches.
Salut pour travailler dans les assurances à Montréal c'est pas trop compliqué..il y a un gros assureur qui recrute 😉

L'été dernier, j'avais fait à Paris des devis pour une assurance santé complémentaire pour expatriés.
L'un des assureurs m'avait dit que ses nièces bossaient depuis quelques années dans les assurances au Quebec, pour le groupe Desjardins. Apparemment ça se passait tellement bien qu'elles n'envisageaient plus de retourner en France. Mais bon, quand on bouge à l'étranger, il y a parfois une période de 'lune de miel'.
Ça me fait un peu peur de bouger, parce que si ca va mal, ça sera difficile de payer le voyage retour (avec armes et bagages) en France.

Our departure time is getting closer (we have less than 2 years left—it’s both a long time and so short!). To start preparing seriously, we’ll need quite a bit of info. If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).

Hi, I’m a self-employed physiotherapist in France, and as my wife (a nurse) and I look into working abroad in about two years, I’ve been offered an equivalence to become a respiratory physiotherapist in Switzerland. Actually, I’m currently doing a postgraduate diploma in pediatric respiratory physiotherapy and want to specialize in that area. Anyway, that’s not the main point—could anyone explain the pros and cons of doing this job in Switzerland? Based on the paperwork I’ve received, the equivalence seems purely administrative or almost... What about working conditions, quality of life, salaries, etc.?
