Je souhaiterais faire un combiné maurice réunion du 16 au 30 avril 2011 ave mon mari.
Malgré mes diverses recherches sur le net, je ne trouve rien qui colle vraiment avec ce que l on voudrait :
Vol pour la réunion au départ de Nantes.location d une voiture et 8 nuits en chambres d hote.puis départ pour Maurice en hotel pour 5 nuit et retour sur Nantes.
Est ce la bonne saison?
Quelle compagnie aérienne choisir?
Quel circuit pour découvrir la reunion?Quelles étapes pour la nuit?Connaissez vous des chambres d hote avec un bon rapport qualité prix?
Ensuite, faut il mieux prendre un bateau ou l avion pour aller de la reunion à maurice?
Dans quel endoit de Maurice séjourner ( on veut de la chaleur, un bel endroit et profiter des sports nautiques et faire des excursions, un endroit calme aussi)?
Avez vous de bonnes adresses d hotel pas trop cher mais bien?(il y en a tellement que le choix est difficile).
Prendre plutot 1/2 pension ou tout inclu à Maurice?
On souhaiterait mettre 3000€ pour 2 pour ces 15 jours.
Pour la traversée Réunion -> Maurice il est préférable de prendre l'avion, le bateau mettra trop de temps.
En avril, qui est toujours en été, vous pouvez choisir n'importe quelle côte, la météo sera pratiquement identique partout.
La 1/2 pension est moins chère, plus avantageuse si vous pensez découvrir l'île plus que le farniente sur une plage. Effectivement, nous avons beaucoup d'hôtels de toutes catégories et bien rares sont ceux qui vous décevront. Par ailleurs, tous ceux pieds dans l'eau proposent des activités nautiques, certaines sont gratuites d'autres pas mais vous trouverez aussi pas mal de prestataires privés bien souvent aux taris plus avantageux pour les mêmes choses.

Pour les vols tu Corsair prix correct mais avions en haute densitée (départ de nantes)
et a partir du 11 fevrier 2011 tu aura Air austral, un peut plus cher mais très bonne compagnie avions neuf ou presque , de plus tu pourra combiné ton vol Nantes Réunion et Réunion Maurice avec la meme compagnie ce qui peut être avantageux niveau prix.
Pour les chambres d'hôtes tu a vraiment le choix a la Réunion idem pour la loc de voiture
nous sommes partis en novembre 2009 à la Réunion et Maurice: sur cette île, vous pouvez louer une chambre d'hôtes ou un gîte à "la villa l Amitié" (vous pouvez rechercher via google), endroit impeccable, le proprio peut servir de guide .
à la Réunion, nous avons loué un gîte dont je peux vous donner les coordonnées
les distances sont très longues d'un endroit à l'autre, le climat (en novembre) est très nuageux et pluvieux (à l'intérieur de l'île) et il faut se lever très tôt (4 -5 h) pour voir les paysages car ensuite cela se bouche .île pas très "dépaysante" car beaucoup de circulation, des zoning commerciaux partout, pas très typique (la Guadeloupe l'est beaucoup plus)mais quand même des paysages magnifiques tel le volcan!

Oui le vol avec Air Austral vaut le coup, car pour le prix d'un A/R pour la Réunion (ou presque) vous avez le vol Réunion/Maurice en plus... Et vous pouvez rester autant de jour que vous voulez d'un côté ou de l'autre...
Pris indépendamment le billet St Denis Maurice revient à plus de 200€ !! (je crois que, si on regarde le prix au km, c'est un des vols les plus cher au monde ^^)
Nous partons dans 2 semaines.
J ai réservé le vol via air austral au depart de paris.
On debute par la reunion : loc studio à l hermitage + loc voiture à l aeroport pendant 8 jours
Et on termine par Maurice : loc studio en bordure de plage à Peyrebere avec petits dej pendant 5 jours.
Je ne peux pas encore vous dire ce que valent les logements...mais en tout cas c est bien moins cher que l hotel!

Réservation loc voiture aupres de europcar à l aeroport ( 195€) mais vous avez des agences beaucoup moins cheres!
location studio residence eliana à l hermitage (réunion) : 320 € pour 8 jours
location studio au beach club à peyrebere : 295€ avec pti dej pour 5 jours.
En tt on en a pour 3200€ pour 2.
Les hotels sont bien plus chers.vous pouvez faire des demandes de devis directement sur les sites internet des hotels.
j avais aussi fait des demandes via des agences pour le combiné mais c etait au moins 4500€!
Tout depend de votre budget.
la loc de voitures à la réunion est pour 8 jours, du dimanche au dimanche.
Non nous ne louerons pas de voiture à l ile maurice mais avons pris contact avec un taxi qui nous fera decouvrir l ile pour 60€ la journée.
si vous etes marcheurs, il ya de quoi faire, mais à ne pas manquer:
le Volcan (1h30 en voiture de St Gilles: le coin "protégé" et le plus toruistique de l'ile près des plages)
un tour de l'ile avec pause au souffleur d'Arbonne, les coulées de lave, à st joseph pour un carry bichique, le jardin des épices et vanille à st Philippe ( à reserver 2 3 jours avant)
le Maïdo au lever du soleil et marche (le grand Bénare 6h aller retour)pique nique
le jardin botanique des Mascarins à St Leu
parapente à St Leu
plongée à St Gilles
descente en VTT du Maïdo (à reserver à St gilles)
une très belle ballade facile qui donne un bon apercu de la beauté des hauts de l'ile: Roche noire cap vert bouteille(depart dos d'ane)
une rando dans Mafate
un ou 2 jours à Cilaos.
visite Salazie et Hell bourg (possibilite de canyonning)
le marché de St Paul le vendredi.
partir tot, car vite nuageux si vous voulez profiter des points de vue!
alors pour le volcan, le sentier officiel est toujours fermé mais un autre sentier a été balisé, donc vous pourrez quand meme y grimper (marche "cassante" sur les pierres de laves)
pour les hébergements, j'y habite donc peu d'info sauf à Marla (cirque de Mafate on m' aconseillé le gite de fanélie César)
puis à Cilaos celui de Mr et Me Marie, des réunionnais charmants et belle vue sur le lac.
pourquoi St denis?
St Leu est une ville jeune et sympa, st gilles:la station balnéaire (donc chere)
il ya un site de la maison de la montagne qui propose de calculer vos excursions, temps de marche et indique les sentiers fermés ou impraticables.
Et bien que dire de ce sejour!!!!Ce fut fantastique, merveilleux, magnifique, grandiose!!!!!
Je compte bien y retourner!!!

Vol de nuit via air austral tres tres bien!Pas de retard, tres peu de turbulences, bon repas ( aperitif, entrée, plat, fromage, dessert, barre chocolatée, pain, vin, eau, jus de fruit, café).Ecrans individuels, choix de 25 films, musiques, documentaires, series tv etc.....Ils fournissent un kit comprenant oreiller, couverture, bouchons d oreilles, ecouteurs...
Arrivée le dimanche matin à La réunion.Récupération de la voiture de loc chez europcar à l aeroport.Une clio symbol avec clim, tres bien.
Direction la loc à l hermitage.Un studio dans la residence eliana, située dans une petite rue tranquille.Studio tres propre, climatisé, avec une belle terrasse, pas de vis à vis...à 1 min à pied de la plage...franchement le pied!On se retrouve au milieu de la population reunionnaise, il y a des petits resto typiques à coté ( plat à emporter pour 5€).j ai trouvé la plage tres sympa, bordée de filaos.Certains sont déçus par rapport aux plages de l ile maurice...mais je trouve qu elle a son charme ( surtout le dimanche avec tous les reunionnais qui viennent pique niquer).Et dès que vous mettez votre masque, quelle féérie sous marine.Pas besoin d aller loin, les coraux sont près du bord et les poissons au rendez vous!!!C est magnifique.Nous allions à la plage tous les soirs pour nous detendre apres les visites...Et le coucher de soleil est magnifique sur le lagon!
- Lundi, nous avons fait les bassins de st gilles.petite rando sympa qui conduit à un 1er bassin avec une eau bleueu turquoise...plus bas, il y a 2 superbes cascades.
- Le mardi, lever 5h, nous sommes partis au volcan...quel spectable!Une vraie beauté...faites cette rando, c est grandiose!La plaine des sables es t à couper le souffle...la montée jusqu au cratere est fatiguante ( attention à prendre beaucoup d eau, + à manger , creme solaire et chapeau)...mais ça vaut vraiment le coup de monter la haut.
- Mercredi, tour de l ile en voiture...à faire!St Leu, etang salé, boucan canot anse des cascade et le sud sauvage avec cap mechant ( magnifique), les coulées de lave, l eglise miraculée...c est vraiment superbe.
- Jeudi direction le cirque de cilaos et la route aux 300 ou 400 virages je ne sais plus.C est tres beau.
- Vendredi hell bourg dans le cirque de salazie, la route est belle, beaucoup de chutes d eau, le voile de la mariée, le village de hell bourg est tres joli ( cases creoles...).l apres midi on a fait le marché de St Paul, tres beau et coloré.
- Samedi, nous sommes allés au piton maido pour voir d en haut le cirque de Mafate, superbe vue!!!l
Tous les soirs nous allions à la plage de l hermitage et prenions un verre ( punch😉) au coco beach ( bar sympa les pieds dans l eau).Nous avons mangé dans des petits resto et à la marmite ( plats creoles à volonté!).
- dimanche : depart pour l ile maurice.Nous etions logé au beach club à Peyrebere.Nous avions un appart ( chambre, salon cuisine et terrasse) vue sur mer...quelques marches à descendre et nous etions dans l eau...superbe plage!L hotel est super!Chambre propre, climatisée, personnel tres gentil, petit dejeuner copieux ( devant la mer...).
- lundi : nous avons longé la cote ( à pied) par les plages, vers cap malheureux, vue sur le coin de mire.Très très beau!
- Mardi : visite de l ile avec Taxi Fezal que je vous recommande!!!Il est tres professionnel, ponctuel, prudent, est à nos petits soins, explique beaucoup de choses.Nous avons fait appel 4 fois à lui ( 2 fois c est son beau frere qui l a remplacé, tres gentil aussi!).Nous avons vu port louis ( quartier chinois, mosquée), le jardin de pamplemousse ( à faire!pensez à l antimoustique!), l usine de thé bois cheri ( tres interessant, superbe vue panoramique sur les plantations de thé), la fabrication de maquette de bateau ( interessant aussi), le lac sacré des indiens avec la statue shiva, chamarel et la terre des 7 couleurs ( tres beau), la cascade de chamarel ( ters beau aussi), le cratere trou aux cerfs, retour par la cote ouest avec vue sur le morne.Magnifique journée que je conseille vivement!Le midi, le taxi nous a déposé dans un super resto, tres bon!!!!!
- mercredi : nous avons pris les bus pour aller à grand baie et dans les environs.Nous avons dejeuner dans un resto en bord de plage, c etait super!
- jeudi : l ile aux cerfs.Fezal avait pris contact avec l agence viki je crois qui organise des excusrsions la bas.j avais un peu peur d être déçue..;mais c etait super!Depart de trou d eau douce ( attention le bateau va tres tres vite!!!), direction la cascade, petite mais jolie, on y accéde au milieu de la mangrove.On y a vu des singes et des enormes chauves souris.Ensuite le bateau nous depose sur l ile aux cerfs et revient nous chercher pour le repas du midi qui se fait sur l ile en face.Genial!!!!repas sur le sable sous les filaos, dorade grillée + poulet grillé + langouste grillée avec pain et crudités + bananes flambées et ananas, la boisson est à volonté.Degustation de 6 rhum arrangés...c etait vraiment super.Le bateau nous a redéposé sur l ile aux cerfs et retour le soir vers 17h.
- vendredi : depart pour Nantes...snifff.
Nous avons mangé local tout le temps.( repas à emporter pour 2€).
Il a fait un temps magnifique pendant 2 semaines ( il a plut 2 fois la nuit).Les gens de ces 2 iles sont gentils et accueillants.Tout est c est magnifique.le combiné est parfait.
Nous y retournerons c est certains!!

Un semaine à gauche a droite dans l'est de l'ile avec des rando dans les cirques et volcan
et terminer par une semaine cool mais là on hesite sur :
Saint Leu ou l'Ermitage
Vous aurez de quoi faire à la Reunion!
Sans hesitation je choisirais l hermitage...plus facile pour se baigner et j ai trouvé l endroit plus sympa...mais ce n est que mon avis!

Nous, nous preparons le prochain avec les enfants cette fois ci...du coup on a choisi la Guadeloupe, mais le coup de coeur restera pour la Reunion!
on n a pas du tout eu froid.jamais de pull même la nuit...mais on logeait sur la cote donc il fait plus chaud.
quand nous avons visité les cirques on a toujours eu chaud, à part à hell bourg ( salazie) où il pleuvait ( mais il faisait quand même bon).Et pour le volcan on a carrément brulé... ( on etait en tee shirt à 7h du mat).
mais mieux vaut prévoir de quoi se couvrir au cas où...le temps est changeant et est variable suivant l endroit où l on se trouve.
Il faudrait quand même que je connaisse un peu mieux la Réunion 😉!
Mais c est vrai que ça m a tellement plu que ça fait plaisir de donner des conseils...

- toutes tes visites peuvent ellles etre faites avec un enfant de 2 ans? Si non lequelles sont faisable avec mon fils?
- J'ai cru comprendre que vous n'avez pas changer de'hotel, cela rallonge - il les distances et les journées? Combien de temps faut il pour faire le tour de l'ile en voiture?

En ce qui concerne le budget, on en a eu pour 3200€ tout compris ( hotel et loc appart, loc voiture, assurance annulation, train pour aller à paris et avion).
Pour des visites avec un enfant de 2 ans, est ce pour Maurice ou la Reunion?
En fait je fais référence à La Réunion je j'essaie d'identiifer les randos qui sont réalisables avec un enfant de 23 mois sur le dos.
Par ailleurs, ne voulant pas trop changer d'hebergement tous les deux jours (sachant que nous retons 7 jours à la reunion), te semble -il raisonable d'opter pour deux herbergements? si oui ou cela? tout en étant pas trop éloigné des principaux sites de randos.
Combien de temps te fallait il pour te rendre par exemple de L'hermitage au volcan?
Pour te donner une idée, de l hermitage au volcan nous avons mis 1h30-45;c est le temps le plus long que nous ayons fait.Il faut compter 1h à 1h45 de route pour aller aux cirques.Tout depend de ce que tu recherches.En ce qui nous concerne, nous partions de bonne heure le matin et en rentrant pas trop tard le soir on pouvait se détendre à la plage ( parmis tous ces poissons magnifiques!) et prendre un verre dans un bar sur la plage.Nous n avons pas eu de bouchons ( ou vraiment tres peu).
mais c est certain que loger dans 2 endroits differents te fera gagner du temps.
Pour les rando, si vous etes sportifs et si vous avez l habitude de porter votre enfant sur le dos, vous pouvez faire pas mal de balades.
pour moi le volcan est incontournable mais c est vraiment fatiguant ( aussi bien à l aller qu au retour).j ai vu un papa qui portait son enfant et il est monté au sommet...c est donc faisable mais moi je ne l aurais pas fait;il faut compter environ 5 à 6h de rando pour le volcan.n oubliez pas de prendre beaucoup d eau et surtout de la creme solaire!!!!!
il y a aussi des "petites rando" facilement faisables avec un enfant ( en faisant attention bien sur car ça monte ou ça glisse) : les bassins de st gilles ( pas de difficulté particulière), à partir de Cilaos il y a qq rando aussi qui mènent à des bassins ( je ne me rappelle plus les noms).vous pouvez aller sans probleme à la cascade langevin ( accessible en voiture), elle est tout simplement splendide!
J avais trouvé sur le net les rando à faire avec le temps et le niveau de difficulté.je vais essayer de retrouver ça.
Le tour de l ile est sympa, tu peux t arreter souvent et en prendre plein la vue à chaque virage.comptes environ une journée.
Monte au maido ( en voiture) pour voir le cirque de mafate ( tres tres tôt!).
pour ma part, j etais "contente" de ne pas avoir emmené mes enfants car on n aurait pas pu faire tour ce qu on a fait.
encore une fois, tout depends de ce que tu veux et peux faire.
Nous des sportifs occasionnels donc je t'avoue que le volcan nous fait envie mais la difficulté nous fait peur. Est il possible de rebrousser chemin en cas de grosse difficulté.
Concernant les points de chute on pense actuellement a St gilles et Hell Bourg ou st Pierre.
Est ce que ton hôtel à l'hermitage est convenable avec un enfant en bas age.
Oui vous pouvez faire demi tour, beaucoup de gens le font.
De toute façon, vous pouvez aller jusqu au parking, ce que vous verrez avant d y arriver sera déjà splendide, et descendre dans l enclos pour voir de près le volcan, vous en prendrez déjà plein les yeux.
Nous etions dans un studio ( 1 piece + 1 salle deau toilettes).Vous pouvez mettre un lit parapluie dans la pièce.prêté par la proprio.Il n y a qu une douche et pas de baignoire.
Helle bourg est un tres beau village point de depart de mal de rando dans le cirque de Salazie, par contre il pleut très souvent.
St gilles est le coin idéal pour profiter de la plage ( l ermitage).
St Pierre je ne connaispas trop.
Pour aller dans les cirques en partant de st gilles il faut compter 1h à 1h30 de route.
Tu peux trouver les temps de trajets sur le net.

Je compte passer 3 nuits a St gilles, puis deux a hellbourg puis revenir a st gilles pour finir les 3 dernieres nuits. qu'en penses -tu?

Three years after exploring northern Argentina and Chile, my two travel buddies and I want to discover the southern part of these two countries.
We’re traveling on a budget, backpacker-style, favoring public transport and modest accommodations, but we don’t hesitate to splurge a little when it’s worth it.
The classic spots that have been fueling our dreams: Bariloche, the lakes, Chiloé, El Chaltén, Torres del Paine, Perito Moreno, El Calafate, Fitz Roy, Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego, and wrapping up in Valparaíso.
We’ll take a round-trip flight to Santiago, then I’m thinking of a one-way flight from Santiago to Punta Arenas. From there, we’ll explore and do several day hikes in the south, including Ushuaia and, if possible, Tierra del Fuego.
Then we’ll head back north by bus to Bariloche and the lakes, followed by Chiloé, then a bus to Santiago and Valparaíso.
Based on your experience, could you help me figure out the best way to structure this trip and maybe suggest some ideas?

We’re a young couple planning to travel to South Africa after spending about three weeks in Namibia. We’ll arrive in Cape Town around mid-December, with no fixed travel duration (though our budget will eventually set a limit).
After browsing through the forum, we’ve realized the country is packed with incredible spots, which makes choosing an itinerary tough. We’re looking for stunning landscapes, hikes, and so on. So, we’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences.
When we arrive in Cape Town, we’d like to settle in and take it easy until New Year’s, exploring at a relaxed pace. We know this period coincides with South African holidays—does that make finding accommodations (availability/prices) more difficult? Do you think it’s possible to stay in a nice place for about 15 days without aiming for the most upscale neighborhoods? Maybe somewhere a bit outside Cape Town, like Fish Hoek, and just visit the city occasionally.
After that, we’ll have plenty of time (about 2 to 2.5 months) to explore the country. We’d like to take our time. In your opinion, is it better to focus on the Cape Town region, or is it reasonable to consider more distant areas like the Drakensberg or Blyde River Canyon? Can everything be done by car if we take our time, or are domestic flights sometimes more practical?
Budget-wise, how much do car rentals cost? For accommodations, we usually look at Airbnb—are they affordable in South Africa? What’s the average nightly rate outside the biggest cities? Are there other platforms you’d recommend for saving on lodging?
Finally, regarding safety, are there any regions to avoid besides Johannesburg?
We know this is a lot of questions, but we’re still in the early planning stages!

After exploring southern Peru in 2024 with your help, we’d love to head north next. There’ll be 5 or 6 of us:
1. Arrive in Lima in the evening.
2. Visit Lima and take a flight at 6:35 PM to Tarapoto.
3, 4, 5. Spend a few days there to trek in a reserve (Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve) or somewhere else.
6. From Tarapoto to Chachapoyas—either by overnight bus, daytime bus, or private car.
7. In Chachapoyas: Gocta Waterfall, Sonche Canyon, and walk back to town.
8. Head to Kuelap citadel, Revash, and arrive in Leymebamba.
9. Leymebamba museum, then route to Cajamarca.

My planned route: Senegal → Gambia → Sierra Leone/Liberia (if logistics work out) → Côte d'Ivoire → Ghana → Togo → Benin → Cameroon → Gabon → Kenya (Masai Mara) → Uganda (Bwindi gorillas) → Rwanda → Tanzania (Kili + Serengeti + Zanzibar) → Mozambique → Malawi → Zambia (Victoria Falls) → Botswana → Namibia → South Africa (Cape Town). Madagascar as a bonus if timing/budget allows from Mozambique.
I’m not a backpacking newbie—I’ve done several trips in Europe and I’m familiar with the lifestyle, hostels, local transport, etc. But Africa is my first big adventure on this continent, and I’ve got some very concrete questions I’d love feedback on from people who’ve been there.
🎭 My big dilemma: flexibility vs. pre-organized work
What matters most to me is NOT rushing through. If I feel good somewhere, I’ll stay longer. If a region doesn’t click, I’ll cut it short. That seems totally incompatible with having pre-booked work or volunteer gigs, yet I need that income to stretch my budget.
I’m torn between two approaches:
Option A: The mixed rhythm: 3-4 weeks of volunteering in a country (free accommodation, full immersion), then 1-2 countries in classic backpacker "vacation" mode, then another mission somewhere, etc. This gives a breathing rhythm and avoids burnout from non-stop volunteering.
Option B: The continuous flow: finding gigs as I go, from the previous country, contacting hosts 2-3 weeks in advance with a flexible date range. Keeping maximum spontaneity but never arriving anywhere without a safety net.
Have you tried either? What actually works on the ground in Africa?
🌍 What I’m really looking for in this trip
Not just the classic tourist spots. I want to see the country as it is—eating at local joints, taking local transport (bush taxis, minibuses, sept-places), staying with locals when possible. The big reserves and safaris are part of the plan (Masai Mara, Serengeti, Okavango), but just as much as hanging out in a residential neighborhood in Dakar, understanding how people really live.
Volunteering or work interests me for that reason too (not just for free lodging, but because it’s the deepest way to dive into a country). Working at a school in Ghana, a lodge in Kenya, a permaculture farm in Mozambique—I see it as an immersion that classic tourism can’t offer.

Now, after seeing and reading a bit everywhere, and with the first quotes for a 6/7-day safari, I’m shocked by the prices (like $2,250) for places like Maasai Mara, where entry alone costs $200 per person per day, plus fees for the driver and vehicle.
So if you have any recent great tips or contacts to share to help me out, I’d really appreciate it—because despite the costs, we’d still love to go, while keeping things reasonable.
The most plausible solution is probably renting a vehicle with a driver-guide.
