Voila je viens de m'inscrire à ce forum parce que j'ai un projet un peu fou mais qui nécessite tout de même quelques conseils.
Je veux tout quitter (bruler cartes de crédits, papiers d'identité etc...) pour vivre mon rêve vagabonder et vivre dans la nature pour découvrir de nouveaux paysages rencontrer des gens différents et ne dépendre que de moi hors de tout système.
Je sais que beaucoup penseront que c'est une utopie, un rêve mais je veux vivre ma vie à fond et pouvoir dire je l'ai fait plutôt que de vieillir et de regretter de ne pas avoir franchis le pas!
Alors voila j'aimerai avoir vos avis et quelques conseils (survie, législation etc...)

en effet j'ai bien ce film il y a quelque temps et depuis j'y ai beaucoup songé!
Sa fait reflechir quand même au sens de la vie elle est si courte et le monde est si grand...
Bah en fait ce que je veux c'est partir voir le monde, différents paysages, différentes cultures, partir du jour au lendemain à pied avec un sac et le nécessaire vitale pour ne jamais revenir. Je n'ai pas de destination "ultime" étant donner que je ne me pose aucune limite de temps et je partirai seul.
Je n'ai que 21 ans et je ne veux pas regretter de ne pas l'avoir fais avant, il y a tellement de choses à voir!
Et peut-être qu'un jour je trouverai L'endroit ou je me sentirai le mieux dans la nature et j'y resterai et apprendrai à survivre chaque jour... Cela vous parait il impossible? Je ne suis pas sur que l'on est besoin de toute une société pour vivre heureux et pour moi la solution se trouve là bas, sur la route!
Tu n'es pas oblige de bruler tes papiers et ta carte d'identité pour voyager, tu peux concilier le voyage avec plein de choses.
Apres si c'est pour faire l'ermite y'a des jolis coins en France également.

Alors conseils, tu peux faire un road trip et découvrir le monde mais conseil, garde tes papiers et toujours sur toi. ça sera peut être la seule qui pourra te sortir du pétrin selon les pays.
Et sans argent tu comptes faire comment? Tu va te pointer dans des pays où la vie est dure et tu vas demander l'hospitalité au gens? parce que tu veux couper avec le "système"... pense qu'il faut aussi avoir une éthique et que les gens que tu vas croiser seront surement prêts à t'aider par gentillesse, mais ces gens là n'ont peut être pas à manger tous les jours.
Ton idée est très belle mais tu peux faire tout ça sans forcement cramer tes papiers et ta carte visa. si tu dans la m... c'est pratique même si tu préfères te servie d'autres moyens. Pense à "Into the wild" tu as vu la fin.
Tes paroles me paraissent bien innocente, es tu deja sorti de france deja? Sinon fais toi un voyage a l'arrache sac a dos 2 mois et en revenant tu auras les ideees plus claires, sur le type de contraintes.

à moins qu'ils ne soient bloqués en hopital ou en prison (dans beaucoup de pays le vagabondage, sans ressources prouvées est un délit !!) .
ton reve n'est pas fou, t'as la chance d'etre ne dans un pays ou tu peux rever et realiser tes reves, suffit juste d'en prendre les moyens.
Il y a plus de gens qui partent et ne reviennent jamais que tu ne le penses, mais ceux la, tu ne les trouveras pas sur un forum. Si tu sais te demerder avec tes mains, alors tu pourras faire un peu d'artisanat et le vendre dans les rues, jouer de la zic ou bien bosser ici et la ce qui te permettra de vivre ta vie au sens ou tu l'entend et non simplement de "survivre".
Si tu veux vivre dans la nature, sans rien d'autre, ma foi, la nature nous a tout donne, si t'as les connaissances necessaires (ou envie de les acquerir) pr eviter les indigestions ou soigner une piqure de cobra ou faire tomber la fievre quelque soit l'endroit ou tu sois dans le monde, alors tout est possible...Il y a encore des peuples qui vivent en autarcie avec pour seules ressources ce que la nature leur donne dans bien des endroits du monde, s'ils y arrivent c'est que ce n'est pas si fou que ca. Je ne dis pas que ce soit facile pour un Francais de 21ans mais bon, si c'est ce que tu veux...
Si tout quitter est ce que tu veux profondement, ce que tu sens, fais le. peut etre tu te casseras les dents et rentreras au bout de deux mois... mais si tu ne le fais pas tu ne le sauras jamais.
Et comme on te l'as deja si bien dit precedemment: evites de cramer tous tes papiers, tu ne risquerais de ne pas pouvoir aller bien loin...😉

Il y aura toujours des gens défaitistes, même sur un site comme celui ci. Vivre en harmonie avec la nature, avoir envie de voyager pour aller à la rencontre de l'Autre, les gens trouvent toujours cela utopiste et absurde et même puéril : du genre, quand t'auras passé ta crise d'adolescence, tu t'achèteras une voiture, une maison, t'auras une femme des enfants le chien la tondeuse. C'est justement ce qui me désole, tous ces jeunes qui rêvent et qui finissent tous bouffés par le système. Bien sur qu'on est pas obligé de vivre avec cette société de consommation qui nous écrase. Je connais des fermiers en normandie, en bretagne, en cévennes, qui vivent en accord avec la nature, en biodynamie, et qui vivent heureux. Il est vrai qu'il n'y a pas besoin d'aller à 5000km de chez soi pour voir autre chose. Une phrase que je fais mienne : le voyage commence au seuil de ma maison. Mais je ne contredits pas ton envie de voyage : moi aussi je rêve d'aller rencontrer l'Autre, de découvrir d'autres cultures, d'autres visages, d'autres mentalités. Mais j'ai aussi compris que je pouvais rencontrer ces gens à quelques km de chez moi. Moi je souhaite découvrir l'Inde et l'Afrique noire pour leur philosophie de vie totalement différente de la notre. Mais je vais aussi effectuer quelques mois dans une ferme bio en france pour y découvrir la "vraie vie" comme dit Manu Larcenet (auteur de la merveilleuse BD "le retour à la terre"). Je te conseille de lire "Parole de terre" de Pierre Rabhi et "Le pèlerinage aux sources" de Lanza Del Vasto. Les gens prennent toutes ces envies avec le sourire et en rigolent parce que c'est contraire à la société et aux habitudes. Tout comme la décroissance qui fait beaucoup rire les gens et est un "gros mot" pour les économistes. Non il faut être fort au contraire et vivre d'une sobriété heureuse. Nous sommes plus heureux avec le minimum, non encombré de tous ces parasites matérialistes, qui nous aveuglent et nous font croire qu'on en a besoin. Justement nous sommes tellement angoissés malheureux stressés que nous nous raccrochons au matériel pour combler des vides d'affection, d'amour et de paix. Il faut savoir tirer les leçons des anciens baroudeurs tout en écoutant son cœur. Ne pas tout rejeter non plus car c'est encore une réaction de citoyens encré dans la société. Juste savoir prendre la mesure de nos actions et prendre du recul par rapport à ce qui nous entoure. Le voyage commence aussi dans ta tête. Cette notion de voyage est très vaste. Elle inclue beaucoup de choses, et pas seulement "aller à des km de chez soi". C'est aussi et surtout un voyage intérieur. J'estime que c'est aussi savoir ne pas courir après le bus, le métro, stresser, ne pas rire faussement par politesse, savoir dire bonjour et adresser la parole à son voisin de bus ou métro, discuter avec l'épicier tunisien, la boulangère mauritanienne, le fleuriste indien du coin : c'est déjà une première approche du voyage. Il ne faut pas partir loin en fuyant notre société. Ce doit être un départ paisible, calme et non un pêtage de plomb. J'ai failli faire cela, et aujourd'hui je me sens beaucoup plus en accord avec moi même et la vie que je souhaite alors que je ne suis toujours pas "partie". Je mange bio, je cultive un peu sur mon balcon (oui c'est possible en plein cœur de paris), je circule à vélo, j'ai le minimum d'affaires chez moi, je vis détachée du stress de la société. Je suis passée par deux envies d'en finir avec la vie pourtant. Mais j'en suis là aujourd'hui tout simplement parce que j'ai beaucoup lu, réfléchi et ouvert mon cœur et mes yeux aux gens qui m'entourent, (j'habite un quartier africain et indien). Maintenant j'envisage de partir loin, mais d'une manière posée. Tout ça pour te faire part de mon expérience qui démarra comme toi. J'admire les gens qui ont le courage d'exprimer ouvertement leur refus de la société de consommation. Mais il ne faut pas non plus se renfermer sur soi et oublier le monde réel : injustices, guerres, pauvreté. On peut justement utiliser le voyage et la lutte pour la décroissance au profit des autres, en s'engageant : ong asso et politique. Parce que justement on a les yeux plus clairs et plus ouverts. De toutes façons, dans ton envie de voyager pour découvrir le monde et se passer de la société, n'as tu pas envie de bouger les choses? et faire régner la justice?

J'ai parler de mon projet à beaucoup de personnes dans mon entourage et la plupart y ont songé mais savent qu'ils ne franchiront pas le pas mais cela est normal nous sommes habitué à vivre dans un certain confort ce qui nous fait oublier que l'on n'a pas besoin de tant.
Comme tu le dis c'est un travail sur soi même à effectuer on se cherche, n'ayant aucun élément qui me rattache à rester je pars peut-être aussi pour trouver des réponses aux vraies valeurs de la vie (certain me diront encore que c'est peut être très poétique mais c'est une quête que chacun effectue sur soi même mais chacun de manière différente)
et je ne trouverai la réponse que sur la route, dans les rencontres que je ferais, dans mes erreurs aussi (partir en est peut être une d'ailleur mais je dois en être certain), c'est comme si je répondais à un besoin vitale!

I’m a teacher in Creuse, working in a ULIS program (which welcomes children aged 6 to 12 with disabilities into a mainstream school). This year, I’m starting a school journal project that will involve the kids in many different topics. A big part of the journal will focus on opening up to the world, diversity, travel, countries, culture...
I’m launching a call to invite as many of you as possible to send us a little postcard (from France or anywhere in the world!) to take us on a journey and help us discover new places, countries, and horizons—much more fun and exciting than a regular geography textbook! One section of our journal could be called "We received mail from " and would be an opportunity to research that location and share what we learn with our readers (a super enriching activity in class).
The project starts in September 2025 but has no real end date, as this journal and world discovery initiative will span several school years (the kids stay in my ULIS program for multiple years). Postcards can be sent anytime—throughout the year, across seasons, even during holidays! (The kids will find them when they return.)
I hope this idea appeals to as many of you as possible and that you’ll spread the word to your fellow traveler friends. Make us dream, take us on a journey!!!

I just discovered a great show on Arte.
It's called "7 en route": seven young European journalists travel around Europe in a fully converted bus, making reports on every city they visit. It's amazing! 🙂
Yesterday, for example, they were in Rome, Italy, and the reports included things like the world's smallest restaurant—a super romantic spot for two. There was also a report on the king of paparazzi in Italy.
They have to pick topics that let us discover the little quirks of each country. And at the end of each episode, we get to see the finished report.
It's such a great show, mixing journalism, travel, and discovery—basically, a must-watch!

I left my heart’s country eight days ago and returned to my adopted one—or was it the other way around? Scotland-Morvan, Morvan-Scotland, I’m not quite sure anymore.
After a quarter without dragging my slippers around here, even though I’d loudly declared I had no interest left in this site, here I am again!
My imagination never stays fallow for long. Just enough time for my inner land to rest. It gets overgrown with fresh nettles, the kind you can pick without getting stung. Then, it’s time to till the fragrant earth and let the story grow.
I hesitated over where to set this story.
Maybe the Highlands, maybe the Hebrides, maybe the Orkney Islands, maybe the Shetland Islands. All of Scotland is myth—easy to embroider.
But in the end, no. I’d almost be too afraid to bare my soul.
The story will take place at home. Simple, practical.

This morning, I was up well before dawn, feeling a bit grumpy, but nothing a bowl of coffee won’t fix. I love my bowl, and no one dares take it. It’s porcelain, edged with intertwined blue flowers. On the bottom, it says "Revol." The factory has existed long before the Revolution. It was my great-grandmother’s bowl. She drank roasted barley from it during the war, then her Leroux chicory.
Last year, a little guy dropped it. My bowl broke into three pieces. A black anger vibrated deep inside me. The little boy was so upset, on the verge of tears. How could I scold him!
I picked up the three pieces and took Little Boy in my arms. His hair smelled of the light, sweet sweat of toddlers. A gentle hug that healed—his budding sorrow and my anger—everything vanished, and time carried on.
Today, my bowl is even prettier. Man fixed it using the traditional kintsugi technique, except he didn’t use gold powder or lacquer but superglue, and he delicately painted the cracks with woad blue. And my bowl is even more beautiful now.
I’m lingering, I can tell—it’s just that a story wraps itself in life, and life can’t be told in the snap of a finger. Life is long. Like in architecture, you start with a rough sketch, called a "sous-cul" (the initial pencil drawing), then you make a tracing, which is the work itself, the one you later carefully roll up in a wooden tube.
Life is like that: you erase, you start over, you use the nub of the pencil until it’s tiny, but you keep going—dreaming, loving.

What I loved most was the unique sensory experience you get there. Walking around temples and tantric monasteries, a distinct scent fills the air—aromatic plants used for ritual fumigation. Locals mainly burn Himalayan juniper, cedar, sandalwood, and other local essences. This fragrant smoke is a way to purify the space and reach the deities, and you’re constantly enveloped in these aromas.

I’m planning a 3-week trip to Japan in May with Voyage Privé. The package includes a 5 GB eSIM, but my phone isn’t new enough to support it. VP told me I could buy a SIM card when I arrive at the airport.
Sure enough, I’ve seen online that this is possible with different providers.
I only need it for checking routes, looking up addresses, train schedules, etc.—basically using Google Maps, TripAdvisor, and similar apps. No heavy downloads or major internet use. All hotels should provide free Wi-Fi for that, right?
Has anyone got any tips for me on this? What have you tried, and how much did it cost?

I wanted to share a really unpleasant experience from our last trip booked with Promoséjours and organized by FTI.
We booked an 8-day/7-night stay in Egypt, from June 8 to 15.
The flight initially scheduled was changed a week before departure to take off at 10 PM from Paris CDG.
In the end, it took off with a 1-hour delay and included an unmentioned stopover in Marsa Alam.
We landed in Hurghada at 4 AM and arrived at the hotel at 6 AM.
So, we spent our first night on the plane.
For the return trip, surprise—the flight was moved up. We left the hotel at 10:30 PM on Friday the 14th to take off at 2 AM and land at 7 AM at Paris CDG.
So, we spent our last night on the plane too.
After sending a complaint letter to Promoséjours / FTI, they replied that the first and last days can be dedicated to transport (which I already knew) and that no matter how many nights you book, you’re not guaranteed to spend them in the hotel—it could just as well be on the plane.
I’m really questioning this.
Isn’t there a law that protects customers in cases like this?
Because when I do the math, the first and part of the second day were spent on transport, same for the second-to-last and last day. And I paid for 7 nights for a stay that only lasted 5.
Anyway, I just want to say thanks to them—thanks to their two sleepless nights in transit, I’m coming back even more exhausted from a trip that was supposed to be restful!
I also want to warn anyone booking through this agency about visas for Egypt.
At booking, they told me the visa was included in the price, then they sent me an email saying I’d have to pay for it on-site at 25 €.
Once there, we were directed to a special line for FTI customers, and guess what? They charged us 30 €!
Basically, they’re great at making sure you *enjoy* your vacation—mostly by enjoying your wallet!
If anyone has dealt with this kind of situation and won their case, I’m all ears.

So I thought I’d get a Thai SIM card to use Google Maps for getting around cities, mostly.
Here’s my question: will this SIM affect my apps? Or will they work the same as with my Orange SIM?
Is there any setup I need to do, or can I just pop in the Thai SIM?
I’d also like to switch back to my Orange SIM now and then while I’m in Thailand—on the same phone. Will I need to reset the phone, or will it reconnect without any issues?

I’m reaching out to all travelers and globe-trotters on this forum. I’m a teacher in Creuse working in a ULIS program (which welcomes children aged 6 to 12 with disabilities into a mainstream school). This year, I’m launching a school journal project that will involve the kids in many different topics. A big part of this journal will focus on opening up to the world, embracing differences, travel, global cultures, and more.
I’m putting out a call to invite as many of you as possible to send us a postcard (from France or anywhere in the world)! The goal is to help us "travel" and discover new places, countries, and horizons in a way that’s much more fun and exciting than a geography textbook. One section of our journal could be called "We received a letter from ," where we’d research the location and share what we learn with our readers—a really enriching activity for the classroom.
The project starts in September 2025 but doesn’t have a strict end date, since this journal and world-discovery initiative will span several school years (the kids stay in the ULIS program for multiple years). Postcards can be sent anytime—throughout the year, across seasons, even during holidays! The kids will find them when they return.
I hope this idea appeals to as many of you as possible, and that you’ll spread the word to your fellow travelers. Help us dream and explore!
