Je pars pour l'Irlande à la mi-mars pour trouver un job et perfectionner mon anglais qui est déjà bon. Problème... j'hésite vraiment entre Galway et Cork. Les deux sont à la même distance de Dublin et même si Cork possède un aéroport, Galway n'est qu'à 3 heures de bus de Dublin et ce pour quelques dizaines d'euros, donc comment choisir?
Quelqu'un a pu comparé les deux villes sur le plan du marché de l'emploi, la vie quotidienne, le temps, le prix des logements?
J'habite en Irlande depuis septembre 2007, et j'ai pu visiter les deux villes. Au niveau marché du travail je ne pourrais pas t'aider, mais au niveau ambiance je te recommande Galway qui est vraiment une ville adorable, pleine d'endroits où sortir, agréable à vivre.
En plus de ça, elle a l'avantage par rapport à Cork d'être centrale, tu peux descendre facilement vers Limerick, ville où j'habite, qui est très moche mais c'est un gros centre économique donc tu pourras y chercher aussi du travail, je sais que pour les étudiants il y a sans cesse des offres d'emplois, et tu peux aussi monter facilement vers Sligo, et vers le Donegal, pour aller visiter.
Voilà, bonne chance, et quoique tu choisisses, tu vas adorer l'Irlande.

Perso, pour mon CV, n'étant quand même pas la + calée en anglais, je me suis aidée du site de traduction de google ainsi que du grand dictionnaire bilingue larrousse, téléchargé sur ma bécane, pour corriger les fautes des trad' de google.
Voilà! Cà n'est peut-être pas la meilleure option pour toi, je ne sais pas, çà dépend du job que tu cherches.
Pour ma part, çà me sera utile pour un pti job en bar ou resto (enfin j'y compte bien), tu vois, rien de bien..."sérieux".
J'espère t'avoir un peu aidé.

oui merci tout est bon a prendre. pour ma part c pareil je cherche un job ds ses secteurs d activite et l auberge de jeunesse ou je suis a galway (claddagh hostel) pourrais me conseiller si j ai des reponses positives je te tiendrais au courant. Je me suis inscrite sur ce forum car j'ai dans l'idée de partir moi aussi en Irlande afin de m'y installer quelques temps (voir pour toujours!).
Après avoir un peu hésité entre Cork et Galway (comme beaucoup j'ai l'impression), mon choix se porte finalement sur Galway !
Alors voilà, je souhaite terminer mes études en Médiation Culturelle et Communication avant tout pour ensuite trouver un job et un logement à Galway.
Pour l'instant je suis en deuxième année, et si tout se passe bien, je devrais avoir ma licence l'an prochain. Ça me laisse donc un peu de temps pour préparer mon voyage. En réalité, si je n'ai pas mon année, je pense partir quand même pour me faire une expérience, quitte à reprendre mes études plus tard.
Ainsi, j'aimerai avoir quelques petits conseils car à vrai dire j'ai un peu peur de partir à l'aventure toute seule dans un pays que je ne connais pas.
J'ai un niveau d'anglais correct à mon sens, disons que je comprend plus ou moins ce qu'on me dit et que je suis plus ou moins capable de répondre 😄
Maintenant j'aimerai savoir comment faire pour m'installer, trouver un job, une collocation (c'est plus sympa à plusieurs !) à Galway.
La vie est elle chère là bas comme elle semble l'être à Dublin? Faut-il partir avec un petit pécule d'avance histoire de ne pas se retrouver dans la galère une fois sur place? Faut-il prendre une sorte d'assurance maladie ou je ne sais quoi, ouvrir un compte en banque là bas, prendre un téléphone international? etc etc.
Bref, j'ai plein de questions à poser et j'aimerai trouver des personnes vivant ou ayant vécu à Galway pour éclairer ma lanterne !
Autrement, savez vous où je peux me renseigner? J'ai surfé sur pas mal de sites, notamment sur celui de l'ambassade, mais j'aimerai plutôt papoter avec des gens que lire des documents qui apportent certes une foule d'informations, mais qui ne m'aident pas vraiment.

Ca fait 2 mois maintenant que j habite a galway et je crois que tu as tres bien fait de choisir galway par rapport a Cork.
En ce qui concerne ton voyage je peut te donner quelques petits conseil très utiles car moi j ai pas mal galerer au debut: Premierement, imperatif, qd tu pars en irlande, il faut absolument que tu prenne deux cartes d identité parmis c'est 3 la (carte nationale d identite, passeport ou permis de conduire) car elle vont te servir a te procurer un pps number qui est un numero qui te permet de bosser ou d ouvrir un compte.
Deuxiemement, oui je te conseil fortement de venir avec a peut pres 500€ pour etre a l abri (j ai mis un mois a trouve du boulot) car la vie est tres tres chere.
Et troisiemement oui tu seras oblige de te procurer un numero irlandais si tu veut travailler ms ne t en fait pas les genres de mobicarte (ce que j ai et ce que tt le monde a) sont gratuite. Juste un conseil seul les sagem n accepte pas les cartes irlandaises et la t es oblige d en acheter un autre et la c a fait un peu pus mal.
Et en ce qui concerne les appart oui je te conseil la colloc.
