Finding French-speaking guides in Indonesia

Hi everyone, I’m planning a trip to Indonesia (Java and Bali) and I’d like to explore on my own, but I’m struggling to find contacts for French-speaking guides—not for a full tour, but for short visits ranging from a few hours to maybe 2-3 days. I checked GetYourGuide and Klook, which seem to fit my needs, but I don’t see any French-speaking guides. Where can I find French-speaking guides locally?

If anyone has any info or tips, I’d really appreciate it! Cheers

Good evening, I’m in the same situation. I’m also looking for a French-speaking guide for 2 or 3 days, plus a driver if possible. I’m not sure if taxi rides are reliable or reasonably priced—for example, in April for an Ubud–Munduk route, then Munduk–Mount Batur, etc.

Hello, I can recommend my English-speaking tourist taxi driver with 25 years of experience, available locally. He’s really professional. He speaks and understands a little French. My English is very limited, but the language barrier didn’t stop me from having an amazing 5 days. He patiently explained everything I was interested in. He was a huge help with exchanging euros and choosing meals. Without him, I would’ve missed out on so many beautiful things! We used automatic translation (for written or even voice conversations without internet). He shares his Wi-Fi. The price is completely different from a French-speaking guide-driver, which is quite expensive. Discuss the price with him.

This isn’t an ad—it’s from my experience in May/June 2025. From June 2–15, 2026, I’ll be exploring West Bali/East Java with him. Best regards,
