Je vais partir une semaine en Tunisie. Mes centres d'intérêts sont surtout liés aux ruines romaines plus qu'à la plage.
Je n'ai pas trop d'idée sur les distances et les temps de trajet ainsi que les temps de visite.
J'aimerais un itinéraire qui me permette de voir Dougga.
J'arrive un samedi soir à Tunis.
J'ai imaginé un premier itinéraire:
1/Samedi: Arrivée à Tunis à 20h30 - Hotel
2/Dimanche: Tunis / Carthage / Sidi bou Said - Hotel à TUnis
3/Lundi: Excursion à Dougga - Hôtel à Tunis
4/Mardi: Voyage à Sousse - Visite de la ville et de Port El Kantaoui - Hotel à Sousse
5/Mercredi: Excursion à Karouan et El-Jem dans la même journée (Est-ce faisable?) - Hotel à Monastir
6/Jeudi: Voyage à Hammamet - Visite de la ville et repos - Nuit à Hammamet
7/Vendredi: Voyage à Nabeul - Visite de la ville - Nuit à Nabeul
8/Samedi: Retour sur Tunis - Visite du musée Bardo - Nuit à Tunis
9/ Retour
Pour info, je voyagerai en transport public. J'ai vu sur ce forum les louages ainsi que les bus et le train/métro.
Merci de m'indiquer les meilleures combinaisons possibles.

Comme je vous l'ai dit, la plage n'est pas au programme et les discothèques non plus. Mais bon, un peu d'animation est bienvenue, même si ce sera en Novembre!
Hammamet est-elle une ville sympa pour la pause du mi-voyage?
En 9 jours, est-il possible de descendre plus au sud (Médenine par exemple)?
Pour Dougga, nous avions un hôtel à Tunis, à côté de la gare, les bus partent très tôt le matin, nous avions été nous renseigner à la gare routière la veille...
Nous avons pris un tram jusqu'à la gare routière (env. 15-20 min. depuis la gare centrale), un bus vers 6 h du matin, peut-être même plus tôt. Arrivée à Tebursuk, là, un taxi qui mène en haut des ruines. Nous y étions à l'heure de l'ouverture, vers 8 h 30 sauf erreur. Nous avons visité le site en descendant (c'est adossé à une colline). En bas, nous avons fait 1 ou 2 km à pied pour arriver sur la route principale. Là, un café dans un resto. Puis, le long de la route un louage qui nous a ramenés à Tebursuk. A midi, petit repas devant l'arrêt de bus où nous étions arrivés le matin, rien de gastronomique... Vers 14 h 30, bus de retour pour Tunis et tram pour revenir à l'hôtel.
Les trams partent place de Barcelone devant la gare des trains. Les métros cités sont des trams en surface en fait.
Nous sommes toujours restés à Tunis :
1 jour en bus aller retour Kairouan (pas de train),
1 jour aller-retour en train El-Jem (le lundi matin, marché). Il y a l'amphithéâtre et à 500 m environ, un musée de mosaïques à voir, j'ai presque mieux aimé ce musée que le musée Bardo.
1 jour aller retour Hammamet, aller en train, retour en bus depuis le centre ville. Pour Hammamet, c'est plus facile en bus, le train s'arrêtant en dehors de la ville, on peut prendre un autre train depuis là pour Hammamet et/ou Nabeul, nous avons pris un taxi pour aller au marché au dessus d'Hammamet (jeudi) et sommes descendus à pied sur Hammamet après. Nabeul, nous ne sommes pas allés.
Sousse, nous avons fait aller-retour en train sur 1 journée.
Carthage est assez étendu, nous avons fait 1 journée pour tout voir et Sidi Boussaid un autre jour (2 h sur place suffisent à mon goût). A pied jusqu'au bas de l'av. Bourguiba (il y a aussi un tram je crois, mais pas utilisé) et train TGM pour ces 2 destinations. C'est facile à n'importe quelle heures de la journée.
Nous avons fait aussi Bizerte en train à l'aller et retour en bus en un jour.
Le Musée Bardo est assez près de la gare routière pour Dougga (même tram, sauf erreur le no 4, mais à vérifier).
Il y a une autre gare routière à l'arrière de la gare de trains (10 min. à pied) pour Kairouan, Sousse, Hammamet, etc.

En 9 jours tu pourra faire le grand tour de Tunisie, c'est à dire aprés Kairouan tu peux encore décendre vers le sud jusqu'à Matmata, Tataouine, chenini ( Unesco) et faire les ksour, les hôtels pas chère existent et même quelques passages chez l'habitant est possible...Il y a une grande pérte de temps en louage et transports en communs, il faut à chaque fois attendre que la voiture fait le remplissage total pour pouvoir partir...Je te conseille une voiture berline avec chauffeur qui ne côute pas chère pour faire toute ces visites....N'hésite pas à me contacter pour cela.

Le programme est faisable car les distances ne sont pas trop grandes entre les villes .
Pour visiter les ruines de Carthage, prend un ticket global qui te permettrait de visiter plusieurs sites pour le prix d'un seul ticket .les sites y sont mentionnés et le prix est de 8 dinars , je pense .ce ticket est vendable dans tous les guichets des sites inclus dans ce circuit .
Pour les destinations un peu lointaines, il suffit de partir de bon matin afin de profiter de toute la journée et de rentrer le soir à l'hôtel .

voyons voir : je pense juste un problème d'organisation et ce sera merveilleuw ! grâce à une carte vous allez voir que de votre programme présente deux points faibles, pour vous en conavaincre comparer avec ce circuit et son organistation ( professionnelle) et comme vous ne l'êtes pas il vous servira de comparaison pour voir que : il y a un peu trop d'hôtel dans votre projet de programmes, ça bouffe le temps si vous vous en occupez tous les jours, ensuite choisuir des "bases" à partir desquelles vous rayonnerez ( vous rayonnez déjà en disant que vous voulez de l'archéo et pas de plage ni de discoth etc... !)

1j reserver un jour de plus pour cairouan (tout est musulman à cairouan, comme mahdiya) et autres envies qui naissent sur place. OUI faisable cairouan 40-45 km et el Djem en une journée
* Sivous comptez aller encore plus au sud ? je ne sais pas trop je suis même enclin à penser qu'il ne faut pas le faire sinon au pas de courses car ici "1j" = plein, ce qui suppose de savoir quel transport publics et quelle heure (matinale) il faut prendre, à l'avance, surtout en dehors de Tunis et alentours et si vous revenez régulièrement à votre base .
En tous cas , l'idée de base vous dispense de chercher tous les jours un hôtel ou alors si vous le réservez d'avance vous n'êtes pas sûre d'y aller ce jour là vu votre choix de faire vous même votre circuit et préparer vos déplacements personnellement et s'assurer que les sites et les musées sont ouverts. ET, ça fait sans doute gagner du temps et de l'argent, vous n'aurez pour réussir qu'à préparer l'info nécessaire à vos déplacements.
J'aurais été vous, le voyage du Nord Ouest aurait pu inclure (voir carte) un tour par Tunis Tabarca, Ain Draham puis Bulla Regia dougga et retour à Tunis, car Tabarca et Ain Draham sont à voir.
Un voyage à Thème comme celà, je vous envie réellement, c'est très beau, je vous souhaite un bon voyage et de bonnes rencontres.

juste un petit conseil, faites vos visites en vous limitant sur la zone, Nord, on a souvent tendance a venir absolument vers les cotes, je pense qu'arrivée, a Tunis vous avez pleins de choses a voir la medina en particulier, puis les musées, le théâtre, les différents souks, et vous avez une grande facilité d'aller vers sidi bou said descendre et visiter le port, la Marsa vous pouvez aller ensuite vers le nord, visiter bizerte, très grande facilité d’accès de Tunis, et peut etre prévoir une plongée vers les cascades d'eau, en longeant la cote ou certains curistes font des haltes !!, pour le grand sud , çà me parait très difficile, il faut prevoir d’arrivée sur Djerba ou Tozeur, et ensuite prendre le temps de voir les villes , chenini, tataouine, douz etc..

- --/Jeudi: Voyage à Hammamet - Visite de la ville et repos - Nuit à Hammamet-- mais c'est possible et je déjà fait cette excursion sur une journée ...le moyen de transport le plus fiable sera le louage ...pour gagné du temps c'est la plus rapide ..mais entre Monastir & Hammamet et pour bouger au cap bon ( Nabeul et autres ) la compagnie de transport publique est vraiment bien organisée et leur matériels est bien ...
Pour descendre vers le sud avec ce programme c'est impossible ..sauf si vous changez complètement le programme ...pour le sud il faut réserver deux jours et une nuit au moins ... Mais arrivée à Medenine je vois pas l'intérêt ...!!! plutôt Gabes et partir depuis à Matmata et y passer une nuit en troglodyte ....le trajet depuis le nord dure une nuit entière

bonjour, je vais en Tunisie 🙂 du 27/4 au 8/5, en famille.J'ai suivi les diverses discussions sur ce pays mais j'ai encore un doute🤪 : pour le change, j'ai vu sur le site du ministère des Affaires étrangères, en France, que le retrait de devises avec carte bancaire, dans les distributeurs, était limité à 200 DT/semaine. On part à quatre avec une voiture, ça peut être léger! Et c'est enquiquinant de partir avec beaucoup de liquide même sans être parano! qu'est ce que vous me conseillez.

Then, when I mentioned I wanted to stay for two or three weeks—maybe even a month—explaining that my trip wouldn’t be strictly touristy but more of a pilgrimage to the places of my childhood, and that it would likely be a very emotional journey, I expected a positive and warm reaction to my approach. Instead, I suddenly stopped getting replies from the three or four people I’d contacted. So now I’m wondering about the reception former Pieds-Noirs can expect...

- Does it need to cover the entire duration of the trip?
- Is this document mandatory for a hotel to rent a room?
- Is it checked during inspections?
- Is a hotel booking (e.g., via Booking.com) sufficient for the visa?
- If so, does it need to be paid in advance?
I plan to visit several cities and do one or more treks with a guide or agency.

I’m leaving for Tunisia in five weeks for a full 15-day trip. I’ll be arriving in Monastir and departing from there as well.
I’d like to do a route that’s a bit different from my first stay, which was more focused on cities and culture (Tunis, Sousse, Kairouan, El Jem).
I’ll be getting around by public transport.
I’d like to head south toward Tozeur, and I saw that you can take a *louage* from Monastir to Sbeitla (2h30). I imagine it’s not too complicated to get to Tozeur from there afterward? The issue is the return trip to Monastir and safety in Sbeitla.
If this route seems too complicated, I might opt for Djerba instead, which looks simpler.

Day 9-10: Rabat (I’ve heard mixed things... some good, some bad)
After that, I have the choice of heading back to Tangier for my return flight... or going down to Agadir (also a possible return flight) and extending my trip by 5 days :)
From what I can tell, everything is well connected by bus (CTM) or train (ONCF).
Another question: Is the vibe in Moroccan youth hostels for meeting people the same as what you’d find in Western Europe?

Tickets for entry to Majorelle Garden are only issued online via an official site
(though there are fraudulent sites out there). On the official site, they ask for legitimate info
(name, nationality, etc.). What made me go "hmm" was the request for both an email address
AND a password (with confirmation). Is this normal?

I aimed for an excursion to the Chigaga desert from M’Hamid because it seems less touristy and allows for a more compact loop. Is that a good idea? Is the drive to M’Hamid maybe too tedious?

A lot of people find it important to stick to their budget when traveling—not to skimp, but to visit as many places as possible since traveling is their hobby.
In this post, I want to share some tips for those coming to Morocco who want their trip to be budget-friendly.
1. Prebook everything: hotels or riads, car rentals, or tours. If you book these in advance, it’ll make your life easier. You won’t have to deal with hagglers or people trying to overcharge you for services that are available online for free. Use platforms like Booking, Expedia, carsrental.ma, Airbnb, and other booking services to get this done properly.
2. Exchange your money to Moroccan dirhams as soon as you land. 1 € is always a little over 10 dirhams, but many people get charged as if it were exactly 10 dirhams per euro.
3. When visiting an old site or the old medina, avoid talking to vendors and shop owners—they’re really good at getting your attention and making you overpay for things.
4. Ask your tour guide to buy things for you. Yes, they do get a commission, but you’ll probably pay way more if you buy something yourself that they can get cheaply.
5. Walk everywhere. You don’t need a taxi for every little trip. Pick a good location and walk—most Moroccan cities are safe during normal hours.
6. Buy your food, drinks, etc., from supermarkets at normal prices. They can’t overcharge you since they scan every product.

Unfortunately, we won’t have time to visit Essaouira, as we’re heading south toward the Valley of the Roses...
Do you know of any places around Marrakech, Ouarzazate, or Kelaat M’Gouna where we might have the chance to meet Gnawa musicians?

is it advisable to take a taxi at the airport (cost?) or is it wiser to book one through the hotel before departure (which would cost me 20 €)?
