Bonjour, je viens de trouver une belle annonce d'emploi pour Cilaos sur l'ile de la Réunion, mais ne connaissant pas du tout la Réunion (étant métro) et après m'être légèrement renseigner sur cette ville, j'aurais aimé avoir l'avis de personne y ayant déjà passer un moment ou idéalement de gens qui y vivent pour pouvoir me faire une idée plus juste, possibilité de travail pour mon épouse par exemple, école pour notre fils, rudesse des saisons vu l'altitude, distance en temps de cilaos par rapport à la côte ouest de l'ile ... je suis grosso modo récupérateur de toute info pouvant m'éclairer la qualité de vie de cette ville a première vu assez enclavée.

Les emploie sont rares Oui il y a des ecoles quand meme, nous sommes en france pas en brousse :) Il fait frais, mais parfois bon voir chaud :)il y a une route St PierreCilaos 30/40mn.
Que dire petite bourgade, charmate sutout quand il fait beau :)

Si tu aimes la nature et la montagne c'est magnifique;mais si tu es claustro je ne te conseille pas....il y a près de 400 virages pour aller de st louis à C...le climat est asse frais;pas mla de touristes;les gens traditionnels et sympas.Parfois la route est bloquée à cause des pluies;mais vraiment lespaysages superbes.

Cilaos est un charmant village de montagne, où il fait bon vivre et où il y a tout pour vivre (commerces, ravitaillement, marché le dimanche, gendarmerie, ets scolaires, Poste, essence, retrait d'argent, restaurants, stade, église...) et qui compte environ 26OO âmes.
Le secteur premier est le tourisme, mais plein à craquer avec les activités montagne.
Pour les écoles, il y a un collège ; une école primaire à mare Sèche (un peu + bas).
On arrive à Cilaos par la "route aux 400 virages", la RN5 qui grimpe, qui grimpe, et qui se sépare après Cilaos pour finir à Bras Sec et Ilet à Corde. La RN5 est le seul axe routier qui permet de rentrer ou sortir du cirque. En saison cyclonique, quand la route est bloquée, eh bien il faut prendre son mal en patience...
A 1200 m d'altitude, on est en vraie montagne. L'hiver austral là haut n'a rien à voir avec l'hiver sur la côte : givre et gelées matinales en juillet / août sont fréquents, et pas mal de maisons ont des cheminées. Mais bon, ça reste la Réunion. En journée, on n'est pas emmitouflé comme en Métropole ! On porte juste des vêtements longs au lieu de Tshirt et tongs, la fraîcheur et le froid tombent surtout le soir.

Suis pas très branchée vin, mais le mieux est de prendre contact avec le Chai de Cilaos. Côté producteurs, je suis allée plusieurs fois chez Elie GONTHIER à Ilet à Cordes. Je n'ai pas le tel sous la main, mais son vin est vendu à l'hôtel Les Aloès** 0262 31 81 00.
Mais il n'est pas le seul, entre Cilaos, Ilet à Cordes et Bras Sec, il y en a bcp d'autres.

Cilaos est un charmant petit village de montagne, 1200 m d'altitude, très touristique et où il y a tt pour vivre : commerces, supérette, essence, poste, gendarmerie, église, stade... mais c'est tout petit, et question boulot pour le conjoint, à mon avis inutile de réver ! Il faudra descendre à St Louis ou St Pierre. Pour les écoles, il y a un collège.
Il faut aimer la montagne et ses activités, l'isolement relatif (1 seule route très toirueuse pour monter et descendre, parfois fermée en période cyclonique). En hiver austral, il givre le matin. Sinon, il fait bon, même si c'est plus frais qu'ailleurs à la réunion (mais il fait bien meilleur qu'à Plaine des Cafres !)

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
