J'ai rencontré sur internet une correspondante argentinaise (confirmez moi : c'est bien comme ça qu'on dit en français?). Elle me propose de passer au mois d'août chez elle à Bahia Blanca. Quelqu'un a-t-il déjà été à Bahia Blanca ?
Moi ce qui m'inquiète le plus c'est ce que j'ai pu lire sur différents sites : vols, situation instable du pays, accidents de la route importants (141blessés par jour en moyenne et 30 morts d'après un article que j'ai lu sur le web), agressions, agressions avec arme, trafic d'organes pour les enfants(adultes?)...🏴☠️
Quelqu'un peut-il me renseigner sur Bahia Blanca et ses environs ? Y a-t-il autant d'insécurité qu'on le dit ?
Sinon je voulais savoir : par exemple au niveau de l'eau : la qualité est elle la meme qu'en France ? Y a-t-on accès facilement ? (distribution d'eau).

je me demandais si l'on pouvait se faire embarquer sur un bateau en proposant son travail gratuitement (ça doit être illégal et poser un problème d'assurance, si vous avez des infos...). Connaissez vous des bateaux en partance pour l'Argentine ?
Au niveau du budget j'ai lu que le pouvoir d'achat d'un argentin annuel était de 10.000US$ sachant que le revenu annuel par habitant était de 3000US$ environ. Donc au niveau du budget combien prévoir par exemple pour un mois sachant que : je n'ai pas à payer le logement, je dois sans doute payer les repas et les sorties. (J'ai un ami qui mangeait des repas complets dans des restos en hongrie pour 1euro avec entrée plat dessert, c'est pareil en Argentine?).
Sinon ya bcp de bestioles (insectes...)en Argentine qu'il arrive souvent de voir dans sa maison?
salut, que de questions !!! ne t'inquiete pas outre mesure, l'argentine ce n'est pas la jungle, un minimum de bon sens, de la vigilence et des regles de bases et basta. apres je pense que tout est question de malchance. cela fait trois mois que je suis en argentine et il ne m'ai jamais rien arriver, je sort le soir, je prend le metro le bus les taxis et no problem. sauf la semaine derniere ou je me suis fait piquer mon passport dans le metro mais bon c'est ma faute, qui a idee de prendre son passport avec soi et de surcroit dans un petit sac a dos facile a ouvrir. si tu ne t'expose pas avec des choses de valeur et si tu ne traines pas la ou il ne faut pas trainer, tu n'auras aucun probleme en principe. pour l'eau rien de differend a la france, pour les transports, les lignes interieurs peuvent etre chero sinon le bus c'est bon marche, ils sont top, quant a la conduite des chauffeurs ma fois ce n'est pas " le convoi ", bien sur il y a des accidents, ceci etant j'ai pas mal fait de voyage longue dure et je suis tjrs la, je pense qu'il faut relativiser tout ca car beaucoup ici sur le forum auraient tendance a mon humble avis a noircir et par voie de consequence a apeurer les voyageurs qui comme toi et comme moi il y a trois mois, ne connaisse point ce pays.

Je suis allée en Argentine 2 fois 15 jours, c'est vrai qu'il y à de l'insécurité surtout à Buenos Aires, et ce n'est pas les poulleux qui te vole mais des hommes bien propres sur eux, mon mari s'est fait piqué son portefeuille en 2004 mais de sa faute en plein stade à la Boca alors que tout le monde te dit de ne pas trainer dans ce quartier. Cette année il s'est fait faire les poches à Mendoza mais l'expérience lui à fait acheter des vêtements de voyage avec poche de sécurité, attention la nuit dans Buenos Aires, même les taxi ne s'arretent pas aux feux de peur d'être agressés Il y a un code de la route comme chez nous mais personne ne le respecte. Pour l'eau il s'emblerait qu'elle soit potable mais j'ai des amis qui vivent en Argentine il boivent de l'eau minérale.
Pour le prix du voyage en avion il y à des compagnie qui pratiquent des prix autour de 550 € renseigne toi.
Au mois d'aout c'est l'hiver en Argentine, prends des pulls
Allez a un match de foot, pourquoi pas ! ca fait parti des trucs a voir ...et c'est vrai que le spectacle est plus dans les gradins que sur le terrain, mais surtout ne rien n y apporter ..... pas de passeport, pas de portefeuille, pas de sac, et pas d argent ( max 50 pesos ) et encore moins de carte visa ( la il faut etre fou ).
Pour ce qui est de la nuit : A Buenos Aires, les voitures s arretent aux feux, c'est en banlieue qu elles ne s'arretent pas aux feux ( donc ne pas melanger Bsas intra muros et la banlieue ............deux mondes totalement differents ).
Mendoza est tres prisée par les voleurs professionels specialisés en touristes ( Avenida Mitre - Plaza España - Plaza Independencia ) .... D ailleurs je rajouterais que Clemalex a aussi eu le droit a Mendoza au " coup de la moutarde " ....si vous recevez de la moutarde sur votre blouson, votre sac ..etc...et que quelqu'un de tres attentioné vous le fait remarquer sachez que c est lui le voleur ! Il voudra vous essuyer et en profitera ( avec son complice ) pour vous faire les poches ...vous ne vous appercevrez de rien !
Pour l eau : aucun probleme a Bsas, vous pouvez la boire, elle est bonne et controlee .
Donc je le repete : Pour Bsas, les touristes n ont rien a craindre des cartoneros ( ceux qui ramassent les cartons la nuit ), les touristes sont uniquement la cible des "voleurs a touristes" ( ben oui, chacun a sa specialite ....).
Ceux ci operent dans le micro centre, Calle Lavalle, Calle Florida, Plaza de Mayo, avenida de Mayo ainsi que le metro et le bus quand il y a du monde ........Il sont toujours tres propres sur eux, moyenne d'age de 40 a 70 ans ( des professionels qui font ca depuis des annees ...) sans jamais aucune violence . Toujours pendant la journee ...entre 10h00 du matin et 19h00 ( heure de pointe des vols vers 16h00-17h00 ). Pour vous donner une idee hier lundi au consulat de France a la mi-journee deja 5 declarations de vols par des touristes francais ...donc moyenne a Bsas 10 francais aux poches vides ! ( tous dans le micro centre ).
hergeeeeeeeeee, il est evident que dans un pays pauvre il y est plus de vols et de voleurs en tout genre, mais ne dramatisons pas. en 15 ans de vie a paris, je me suis vu menace d'une arme trois fois dans mon boulot, que tu connais par ailleurs, alors l'insecurite? de meme j'ai une fois pris des touristes argentins qui eux c'etaient fait piquer tout leurs materiels videos a londres, alors l'insecurite? ce que j'essaye de faire passer comme message, malgre mes quelques trois mois en argentine lesquels sont peu a cote de tes dix ou douze ans, c'est qu'il faut relativiser et savoir que ces pays peuvent etre visiter sans avoir a tomber dans une quelconque paranoia ou phobie, le tout etant d'adapter un comportement de bon sens; qui aurait idee de se ballader une rolex ou cartier a u poigne un soir a la courneuve ou a st denis? et puis, si c'est si dangereux pourquoi y es tu ? et vlan!!! je sens que la prochaine fois que l'on va se rencontrer, le debat va etre rude.
Chacun à son expérience et juge en fonction de celle-ci. C'est tout à fait normal que plusieurs personnes aient des points de vus divergents sur la situation. ça ne sert à rien que quelqu'un prétende connaître mieux que l'autre un pays ou une région puisque le but est d'informer les autres avant tout et de partager son expérience.
Et ce que je veux avant tout c'est que chacun juge sa situation seul sans qu'on l'encourage à changer de point de vue puisque chaque point de vue est subjectif. Le but est de tirer les grandes lignes de toutes ces expériences pour tirer des généralités (ici par exemple, sur les lieux les plus dangereux).

Il y a toujours la question du budget qui me tracasse. Combien emmener d'euro (convertibilité euro-peso argentin plus avantageuse car euro fort) pour un voyage d'un mois pour gérer repas et sorties ? (une approximation. on peut manger des repas à 1euro comme en hongrie?).

Aux travers de ses yeux, dans le tumulte du traffic urbain de Buenos Aires, il m avertit, me met en garde face au danger.Une telle rencontre peut etre dangereuse. L indifference regne sur mon visage, alors au feu rouge, alors que l auto est immobilise, il se tourne vers moi et me dit: Joven cuidado, es bastante peligroso! (Jeune homme attention, c est tres dangereux). Bon alors sa parano me rattrape un brin, mais je ne peux m empecher, je me dois d assister a une telle rencontre. Je me distrait toute la journee, malheureusement pour moi je dois terminer la comptabilite du dernier circuit, j aurais bien aime me distraire dans ma chambre d hotel toute la journee a reciter des cantiques de l Opus Dei tout en me flagellant le dos, ca sera pour une prochaine fois. L heure de verite arrive. Je me rappelle les paroles d Ezekiel, il m avait recommande de laisser toute forme de richesse a l hotel, donc je quitte avec peu d argent, et laisse en arriere ma camera. Capturer un tel moment aurait ete particulier, mais je ne peux pas prendre a la legere le nuage de menace qui planne au-dessus d un tel rendez-vous. Je descend dans la rue et interpelle un taxi. Direction la Bonbonera. Le chauffeur m arrete a cinq minutes de l endroit et me dit qu il ne peut aller plus loin, le reste se fera a pied au gre de la trepidation de vivre cet evenement. Seul face au destin, on me fouille, aucunement arme, me voila a l interieur du perimetre. Me voila devant le temple, devant le mythe, je suis a la Bonbonera, lieu sacro-saint des habitants de la Boca, lieu ou on a glorifier Batistuta et deidifier Armando Diego Villedente Maradona, je suis au stade du Clubo Athletico Boca Juniors. Club fonde en 1905. Gilets jaune et bleu a perte de vue, les chants fanatiques qui se font entendre de l exterieur du stade, je suis au Yankee Stadium du football Argentin. Le bruit des tambours, la foule qui chantent avec passion un vaste repertoire de cantique qui rend bien simple d esprit un fan des Canadiens avec son na-na-na Goodbye (p.s.: Soy un fan de los Nordiques por la vida!)! La police est prete, le Boca a perdu sa derniere partie et est au 11e rang du classement d une jeune saison de foot. La section reserve au adversaire, Olympico, demontre 6 individus, fans, a ne pas douter, brave ou imbecile de s afficher aussi ouvertement dans la Bonbonera, difficile a juger, peut-etre un peu des deux. Pas de biere, l equipe est pourtant commandite par la Quilmes (superbe biere!) et Pepsi, au lieu de cela, on se restreint a des hamburgers et a du Coke. Petit calcul rapide et je realise que si je m empiffre de 17 hamburgers et 3 coke, ca me reviendrait encore moins chers qu un hotdog et une biere au Centre Molson. Mais a quoi bon de faire cela? Pluie de confettis et de coupures de journaux qui tombent des gradins, bannieres et drapeaux rappelant une mer enragee, les fans de football de la Boca demontre un patriotisme deconcertant. En Argentine on dit qu on peut changer de religion, mais pas de club... les six fans de l Olympico peuvent compatiser avec les quelques membres de la communaute juive de Riyadh en Arabie Saoudite. Je viens de lire tes interrogations concernant l'Argentine et je me permets de te donner mon point de vue ( un peu expérimenté ) puisque cela fait 2 fois que j'y vais ( fin 2000 et jan/fev 2005) Sauf que je suis dans l'impossibilité de te répondre sur Bahia Bianca que je connais pas et qui n'est pas l'endroit le + recherché pour connaître les sites extraordinaires de ce pays. Je pense qu'il doit s'agir d'une région ( au sud de Buenos Aires) avec de belles plages de sable. A d'autres de te dire!

Pour la sécurité: il faut savoir que dans les pays d'Amérique latine les notions de sécurité ne sont pas autant mises en avant que chez nous. Cela dit, pour la conduite, il est indispensable d'être prudent et attentif mais, jecrois qu'ici aussi. J'ai fait un certain nombre de km en voiture de loc et je n'ai rien rencontré de particulier. Je suis revenue entière sans même un petit accrochage.
Pour ce qui est de l'insécurité sociale: je suis restée seule pendant 15 jours, et 15 autres jours avec une amie - je suis une femme de 60 ans- j'ai fait du sac à dos, pris des transports en commun, marché à pied dans des forêts, circulé dans des villes...je n'ai jamais été importunée! Bon, peut-être que si j'avais eu 25 ans, y aurait-il eu un petit argentin pour draguer...mais cela c'est la vie!
Meme à Buenos Aires qui est, semble-til, l'endroit où l'insécurité a progressé, je n'ai jamais eu aucun pb. Je n'ai cependant pas d'expérience nocturne au delà de 23 ou 24h!
Le prix des voyages: tu dois pouvoir trouver autour de 700 euros. Recherche à partir du site du Forum ou sur Kelkoo. Moi c'est ce que j'ai payé: je suispartie de marseille via madrid. Iberia semble être dans les moins chers
La vie en argentine n'est pas chère pour nous. Avec 4 pesos, tu as plus d'1 euro ( 1 €= 3.80 ou 3.9 pesos)
Tu peux manger très très bien pour 4 ou 5 euros, dormir à l'hotel pour 10 €.....

tu l'auras compris, pas grand chose a crainde. certes comme dans tous les pays chaud il t'arrivera ici et la de voir de temps a autre un cafard ou une fourmi ou toutes autres petites bestioles dans le genre, mais c'est tout. l'argentine ce n'est pas la foret amazonienne, sauf si un jour tu decide de dormir dans la foret, a la belle etoile.
Bien qu'ayant été citée 2 fois par notre ami Hergé pour mes mésaventures argentines, je suis d accord avec Nicole sur la sécurité à BsAs. Pas pire qu à Paris où on m'a tiré un porte-clés dans le métro qui avait le défaut de trop ressembler à un porte monnaie. A aucun moment je ne me suis sentie en danger physique pendant les 6 semaines de voyage entre Argentine et Chili.

I’m planning a trip with my partner (no kids this time—thanks, Grandma!) for two weeks to celebrate her 40th birthday. I’ve been thinking about Chile. We’re looking at leaving around September 18, 2027, starting in the south and returning in early April.
Here’s what I had in mind:
8 nights in a van in the Lake District and the start of the Carretera Austral (up to the Chaitén area). We’re set to arrive in Puerto Montt around 2:00 PM. We don’t want to go too far south since we’re planning to explore the heart of Patagonia (Chile and Argentina) with the kids when they’re older. The idea is to spend 3 nights discovering the lakes (up to Cochamó) and 3 nights in Pumalín Park. I’ve also added two transition nights.
7 nights in the Atacama to experience another side of Chile (San Pedro), taking a domestic flight from Puerto Montt to Calama in the early afternoon. We’ll depart for France in the early evening from Santiago.
IMPORTANT NOTICE for those planning to take a bus to another city, state, or destination from Salvador!
Starting January 20, 2026, the intercity bus station Rodoviária is changing its address!
The Rodoviária is leaving the Iguatemi area and will now be located in ÁGUAS CLARAS (about twenty kilometers from downtown Salvador).
A brand-new station (the most modern in Brazil) has just been set up there, accessible by car/taxi/Uber/metro.
Allow for much more transfer time (especially during rush hours), so leave early if you're heading to Chapada Diamantina or other Brazilian cities by bus.
Remember, there are also private transfers (even French-speaking ones) that can take you directly from your hotel in Salvador to your hotel in Chapada. Sure, it’ll be more expensive, but you’ll save on transfer time and comfort.

Day 1: Arrival in Santiago, then a flight the next day to Balmaceda where we'll pick up a rental car to reach Coyhaique.
Day 3: Walk in the Coyhaique National Reserve, then continue to Puerto Chacabuco. Return to Coyhaique for the second night.
Day 4: Drive to Villa Cerro Castillo for a hike in the national park. Continue to Puerto Tranquilo and stay there for 3 nights.
Day 5: Boat tour on Laguna San Rafael.
Day 6: Day trip to Monte San Valentin Glacier.
Day 7: Excursion to the Marble Chapels, then drive to Puerto Guadal. We'll stay there for 3 nights.
Day 8: Walk along Lago Carrera and return to Puerto Guadal.
Day 9: Rio Baker Valley and, if possible, a glacier excursion.

Day 17: Return the rental car and head back to Santiago.
After this, we're also planning to explore northern Santiago. I'll post about that part once I have a clearer idea of the route.

Below is our draft itinerary (with questions at each stop):
29/11: France → Colombia. Overnight in Bogotá.
30/11: Exploring Bogotá: La Candelaria and Montserrate.
01/12: Gold Museum (closed on Mondays). Drive to Zipaquirá (1.5 hrs) to visit the Salt Cathedral. Then drive to Villa de Leyva (3 hrs). Explore the town. Overnight in Villa de Leyva.
02/12: Return to Bogotá via Laguna de Guatavita (5 hrs). Is it worth the detour? Overnight in Bogotá.
03/12: Flight to Pereira. Drive to Salento. Overnight in Salento.
04/12: Cocora Valley (hike among the wax palms) followed by a drive around the area. Are there any waterfalls or other sights nearby?
05/12: Visit a coffee finca—any recommendations? Then explore the surroundings: Filandia, Manizales, waterfalls? Hot springs? Which ones?
06/12: Flight to Medellín.
07/12: Exploring Medellín: Centro, Plaza Botero, Comuna 13. How do you visit Comuna 13? Is it easy to get around Medellín? Metro? Buses?
08/12: Drive to Guatapé (2 hrs). Visit the town, stroll around the lake, then El Peñol. Overnight in Guatapé.
09/12: Return to Medellín.
10/12: Flight to Santa Marta. Drive to a hotel near Tayrona Park.

14/12: Drive to Puerto Nao (5 hrs). Stop in Ciénaga on the way + boat tour in Nueva Venecia and/or Buena Vista? Not enough time? Overnight in Puerto Nao.
15/12: Exploring Cartagena: Centro, Getsemaní, the walls + La Boquilla if we have time.
16/12: La Boquilla (is it really worth it?) if we didn’t have time yesterday, then back to the beach.

I’ve sketched out a rough itinerary but I’m not sure how to arrange it—considering the climate, year-end holidays, and Carnival.
Basically, I’m thinking of the Amazon, the Northeast coast with Lençóis Maranhenses National Park (but skipping Chapada Diamantina),
Ouro Preto, Paraty, and Ilha Grande—but no Rio visit.
Is this doable in 3 months?

After lots of research and quotes, it’s the only one offering Uyuni at a reasonable price while meeting all the criteria: transfer to the border, private-room accommodation, and a very fair rate. Hi everyone, French travelers in Chile—what credit cards do you use for your various car rentals in the country? I’m traveling in September and was planning to switch my regular debit card (a VISA PREMIER in deferred debit mode) for the deposit guarantee.
My rentals are with Figal in Punta Arenas, Econautos in Arica, and Chilean Rent a Car in Temuco, and all of them want the deposit on a credit card. For me, deferred debit *should* work, but I’ve read comments saying the opposite.
How’s it actually working on the ground with these rental companies right now? Will a deferred debit card work, or not at all?
In France, banks don’t issue credit cards, right—or am I mistaken?

I’m desperately looking for info on the schedules and routes of (shared) boats to visit the islands of Lake Titicaca.
From what I’ve found, there’s a *combi* (bus) that leaves from Puno to go to Llachon. Where do you catch it? What are the schedules and frequency? Does it take about 1 hour?
Then in Llachon, you can take a boat to Amantani (45 min). Same question—where do you check for frequency and schedule?
After that, from Amantani, boats go to Taquile and then Uros. Do you have enough time to visit the islands between two boats? Frequency and schedule?
The goal is to do this tour independently (no agency) over 2 days. Thanks for any tips you might have!
I just got back from a trip to Bolivia and wow—what a wake-up call. It’s not the easiest country, but it’s absolutely stunning.
I started with Isla del Sol, perfect for easing into the altitude at a relaxed pace. Try to stay in the northern part of the island—it’s quieter and the views are insane. And the trout there? Unreal. Quick tip: bring cash in small bills; they almost never have change, and cards are rarely accepted.
Next up, La Paz. The city’s pretty wild, built in every direction. I did a few hikes in the area, including the famous Charquini Lagoon (the blue lake) at over 5,000 m—let’s just say I struggled 😅 but it was so beautiful it was totally worth it.
After that, I headed to Sajama. It’s cool, especially for the hot springs, and I stayed in Tomarapi. But honestly, if you’re short on time, you can skip it without too many regrets.
The highlight of the trip: the Salar. I did it starting from Tupiza, and I *highly* recommend going Tupiza → Uyuni. Way less crowded at the start and the landscapes are super varied. For the tour, I used SplitYourGuide to find a group, and it worked out great. Super handy for splitting costs and meeting people.
I wrapped up in Sucre—this city is gorgeous, all white, with such a chill vibe. And the salteñas + ice cream? Next level 😋
Bottom line: Bolivia’s a bit rough around the edges, sometimes exhausting (shoutout to the altitude), but it’s 1000% worth it.

I was planning to go to Réunion and stay in half-board accommodation with non-professionals, but it seems that’s not really the custom there—or maybe my budget isn’t big enough.
So, since I’ve already traveled around Ecuador and Peru, I’m now looking at Argentina, especially for its mountains (like the ones in Réunion that tempted me, even though—frustratingly—I could only admire them from below).
I plan to get around by bus and don’t know in advance where I’ll sleep, so I won’t book ahead. If I like a place, I might stay for several days.
I know that in Chile, it’s easy to find half-board accommodation, but what about in Argentina?
I’d like to stay with locals in half-board without it being a professional setup. I’m not sure if this is common practice there. It’s up to me to find someone willing to host me.
What do you think?
What would be a fair price (keeping in mind that 40 to 50 € is the max I can spend on accommodation, breakfast, and dinner)?

We’re heading to Patagonia for three weeks in November, starting from Coyhaique in Chile.
We won’t have a car, and I’m struggling to find information about transportation options for a few parts of the itinerary we’d like to do:
1) From Perito Moreno (the town, near Los Antiguos), we’d like to travel down Ruta 40 to visit Perito Moreno National Park and then cross into Chile via the Paso Roballos (at the latitude of Bajo Caracoles) to reach the road to Cochrane. Without a car, it seems we’ll need to use private agencies to get to the national park—do you have any recommendations or suggestions? Also, does anyone know if it’s possible to cross into Chile via Paso Roballos (from Bajo Caracoles) without a rental car? That is, without having to go all the way down to El Chaltén or back up toward Perito Moreno/Los Antiguos, etc.?
2) The second stretch that seems a bit tricky (though still easier, in theory) is from Caleta Tortel to Villa O’Higgins on the Chilean side. Do we have to go back through Cochrane, or are there ways to get directly from Tortel to Villa O’Higgins?
3) Finally, we’d like to hike into Argentina (El Chaltén) from O’Higgins. Any recommendations for this? Do we need to go through an agency? What’s the estimated duration of the trek?
As you’ve probably gathered, we want to visit some off-the-beaten-path spots but don’t have a car, so we’re looking for the best possible compromises.

we’re planning a round trip from San Pedro de Atacama, Chile, to Salta, Argentina, in two months. On the way there, we’ll take the northern route via Susques, Route 27, then 52. But for the return, we were thinking of taking the southern route via San Antonio de los Cobres, Route 51, then 23. Is it similar to the northern route in terms of road surface? How busy is it, and are there gas stations? Basically, should we be worried about doing it in an SUV that’s supposedly 4x4 but has regular road tires and no second spare wheel, obviously...
I’ve seen that we can stop over in San Antonio de los Cobres.

we’ll be in Calama at the end of March 2026, and I’m looking for a reliable car rental there for a 7-day road trip to Salta, Argentina. But I’m struggling with the car rental agencies in Calama because the reviews can be scary. I saw Gyg, which has great ratings, but I’m a bit wary (5/5 from 59 reviews—either the guy’s amazing or it’s fake...), but I can’t find any recent reviews on VF in general.
For Punta Arenas, I booked with Dachelet and didn’t have any issues with email exchanges.
