Un ami et moi planifions de faire un voyage en Europe pour une durée d'environ 8 semaines. Notre itinéraire se résume principalement à l'Espagne, la France, les Pays-Bas, l'Allemagne et peut-être la Pologne et la Roumanie si le temps nous le permet. Nous aimerions donc savoir s'il serait possible de faire cela sur un scooter 50cc. Nous prévoyons donc d'éviter les autoroutes et de prendre les petites routes sinueuses mais avec bien moins de circulation. Ainsi, à votre avis, est-il possible de faire un tel voyage avec un simple scooter de 50cc neuf. Bien sur nous éviterons tout ce qui est col pour ne pas faire forcer le moteur inutilement et voyagerons très léger.
Pourquoi en scoot ? Si tu n'as pas le permis moto , tu peux quand même accrocher une 125cc , c'est très supérieur . L'Europe ne se résume pas aux seuls pays cités ( hélas pour notre porte monnaie car nombre sont défaillants ) . Si tu ne prévois pas une autonomie complète , c'est à dire toile de tente , couchage et tout et tout ce voyage va te couter très cher , compte environ mini 20 euros/jour uniquement pour un hypothétique logement en AJ . A quelle époque tu souhaites t'engager dans cette aventure ?
Tout d'abord, il aurait peut-être été bien que je mentionne que le voyage serait fait en autonomie totale, c'est-à-dire avec tente, sac de couchage, bruleur, etc. Les terrains de campings seront donc l'endroit principal ou nous dormirons. De plus, j'avais parcouru divers forum et avait cru comprendre que pour rouler sur un 125cc le permis de moto était nécessaire. Si ce n'est pas le cas, nous opterons sans doute pour une 125 mais j'avais cru comprendre qu'un permis de moto complet était nécessaire.
Tout dépend de la date d'obtention de ton permis automobile pour etre autorisé à la conduite d'une 125 . Etant du Quebec il faut se renseigner mieux avant le départ et si tu veux ici en France je prendrai tous les renseignements nécessaires . Quoiqu'il en soit en scoot , il faut être motivé pour s'engager sur un tel projet . Quand tu as passé deux heures sur l'engin , la fatigue s'en ressent . Mais le mieux c'est que tu fasses cette expérience vers chez toi . Ensuite , en Europe si tu ne prends pas un minimum l'autoroute ou les voies express ( voies interdites pour les cyclomoteurs ) çà devient vite une galère . Pour le camping il ne faut pas croire à l'économie car à part les municipaux ( et encore çà dépends où ) il faut compter mini entre 20 et 30 euros/jour , les municipaux il faut tabler sur 8 euros mini .

Cependant, bien que le budget soit toujours une chose à prendre en considération, et bien que je tenterai de le limiter le plus possible, je pense avoir les moyens de payer des campings a 20/30 euros par nuit. Finalement, après avoir fait le tour de quelques pages du forum, j'ai vu beaucoup de témoignage de personne qui avait fait des voyages du genre en mobylette. Serait-ce une option plus réaliste? La possibilité de pédaler sur certaines mobylettes en cas d'un bris mécanique est-elle réellement nécessaire? En somme, à votre avis, toujours dans l'optique de ne pas dépasser 50cc (après mettre informer, j'ai réalisé que je ne serais pas en mesure d'obtenir un permis pour 125cc), une mobylette serait-elle une option plus intéressante qu'un scooter?
Quel age as tu ? toute personne née après le 1er Janvier 1988 doit être titulaire du BSR ( brevet de sécurité routière ) pour pouvoir conduire une mob , voiturette , scoot etc... Autrement , si tu loues un engin en France l'assurance est comprise dans la loc mais peut être que tu as prévu de faire voyager aussi ta mob ?

Si tu n'a pas le permis moto au Québec, oublie la location ou l'achat en France pour une moto. Par contre je ne sais pas pour le scooter (achat).
Pour la location, les locateurs exiges 2-3 ans de permis moto (assurance).
Un scooter 50cc peut grimper le "mythique" Stelvio mais ça l'hypothèque un peu c'est certain. (peut-être pas a 2 dessus plus les bagages!!!)
Huit semaines pour parcourir l'Espagne jusqu'a la Pologne, c'est assez optimiste. Alors si tu veut visiter un peu et pas seulement faire de la route, ça va être plus que restreint pour ne pas dire pas faisable (en visitant un tant soi peu car il y a tellement a découvrir et a voir).
J'aurai 20 ans lors de mon départ et le voyage, après révision du budget de mon ami, s'enligne plus pour 16 semaines (il repousse sa session d'hiver 2012 à l'école en septembre 2012 et pourra donc travailler à temps plein et ramasser plus d'argent). Nous sommes tous les deux titulaire d'un permis classe B (au Québec) qui est l'équivalent du classe 6 en France (pour les voiture ''standard''). De plus, nous prévoyons acheter les scooters puisque s'est pratiquement plus rentable que de les louer et que s'est beaucoup plus simple pour les assurances (notamment parce que nous n'avons pas de permis de moto ni d'expérience réel). Finalement, nous aurions chacun notre scooter, parce qu'à deux sur un scooter, avec les bagages, la durée de vie des engins risque d'être courte. Finalement, Google Map estime notre itinéraire à 8 600 km, mais puisque nous n'emprunterons pas les routes nationales / autoroutes, je pense que 12 000 km est plus réaliste.
De plus, j'avais cru comprendre que si nous étions titulaire d'un permis classe 6, le brevet de sécurité routière n'était pas nécessaire pour la conduite d'un 50cc. Savez-vous ce qu'il en est?

Il y a ceux qui font du kilométrage et il y a ceux qui font un voyage.
Voyager c'est aussi s'arrêter, écouter et comprendre.
Oops. En effet, il y a une inversion (à force de regarder sur les sites québécois et français des informations sur les permis j'ai du les confondre). Ce qui va donc comme suit: nous détenons tous les deux un parmi classe 5 au Québec et non pas 6 (autre erreur) qui nous permettrait alors de conduire tout type de moto. Nous sommes donc uniquement détenteur d'un permis pour la conduite des véhicule de promenade.
En tentant d'établir un itinéraire pour le voyage, quelques nouvelles questions me sont venues en tête. En effet, suite à la consultation de divers sites internet, j'ai réalisé l'étendue des ''véloroutes'' partout en Europe (couvrant environ 70 000 km) qui permettent de faire le tour de l'UE à vélo. Cependant, je suis pratiquement certain que ces routes sont réservées aux vélos et qu'il serait non seulement illégal mais également très désagréable pour les cyclistes si nous y passions en scooter. Ainsi, existe-t-il des routes que nous pouvons emprunter sans ralentir les voitures (vitesse de 50 km/h) et sans déranger les cyclistes? Les routes de types ''D'' sont-elle une option valide? Avez-vous des suggestions?
Toutes les routes sont accessibles en 50cc sauf les voies express , les autoroutes et bien sûr les pistes cyclables . Tu évoques des voies de type D : en France une route qui commence par D est une départementale et peut être à deux ou quatre voies et dans le cas quatre voies c'est une voie express . Le mieux est de prendre une carte routière et donc prévoir un itinéraire excluant ces voies : exercice difficile tant sur la prévision que sur la réalisation . Si j'étais toi , je changerai l'option transport , l'Europe est très bien désservie par les voies ferrées mais aussi les bus . Tu peux faire des simulations avec www.voyages-sncf.com pour les trains et pour les bus www.eurolines.fr . A toi de voir mais à mon sens c'est la meilleure solution et sur place dans les villes traversées tu pourras toujours louer un scoot ponctuellement .
Avant d'avoir ma moto j'avais un scooter derbi 50cc qui a été débarré et qui roulait 90Km, j'ai fait avec ce scooter 26876 Kms avant de le changer pour ma moto non pas parce que je n'aimai pas ça mais parce que je ne pouvait allé sur des bout d'autoroute. J'ai encore mon scooter car je tripe plus sur le scooter que ma moto à l'occasion, ces un bon trip. Ne te pose pas de probleme fait ton voyage en scooter ça peux faire le tour de la terre ces tites machine la.
À deux vous allé avoir un fun que de faire ça, pis si tu te rend pas aussi loin que prévut tu va avoir eu le temps de mieux regarder en roulant car tu ne sera pas occupé à regarder seulement la route pour pas de casser la geule😉

J'ai beaucoup voyager en mobylette. En 2007 j'ai fait un tour d'Europe avec 20 pays traversé et plus de 27000km. Et en 2009 j'ai fait un tour d’Amérique du nord avec plus de 33000km. Je suis donc passer par chez toi au Quebec. J'ai fait venir ma mob de France par avion et j'avais trouver une assurance qui me couvrait au canada et au USA, pour 150€ l'année.
Pour infos les pédales sur la mob de permet juste d'aidé la mob a monter les grosse cote, n'imagine pas faire avancé la mob avec les pédales si le moteur est en panne tu abandonneras au bout de 500m de plat.
La distance max par jour est de 300km sois 7h de conduite.

I’m starting to think about a trip that’s really close to my heart: Algeria by motorcycle, specifically the southern part of the country. It’d be for January 2025, and I’ve got two main questions:
Is it possible for an individual on a motorcycle to travel freely, outside of any organized tour, or does the regulation require some kind of supervision in the Algerian Sahara region?
Is the Hoggar massif accessible by road or by (rideable) tracks?

I just realized I’ve been registered on VoyageForum since... March 28, 2012 😊. Yet, I’ve barely participated until now.
August 1, 2026, will mark a somewhat special milestone: 5 years on the road.
We left Switzerland on August 1, 2021 with a simple idea: let chance decide our direction. We placed a bottle of wine on a world map, spun it... and it chose our first destination.
A year later, when we arrived in Morocco, we faced a new choice: continue toward Africa or head to Asia. This time, a tarot card game made the decision. Since then, we’ve tried to keep this journey as open to the unexpected as possible.
Today, that adds up to about 120,000 km, 46 countries, and over 1,800 days on the road—mostly by motorcycle, but also by sailboat, train, bus, hitchhiking, or on foot when adventure calls.
Our guiding thread isn’t just the motorcycle, but service exchanges. Instead of simply passing through countries, we try to stop regularly to lend a hand to the people we meet. So far, that’s about 600 days of volunteering.
Over the years, we’ve:
renovated a house in Croatia
made earth bricks in the Moroccan desert
helped sail a boat through the Greek islands
looked after houses, dogs, horses, a camel... and lots of other animals
worked at a street art festival in Morocco
created videos for local associations and projects
worked the grape harvest on the Tibetan plateau
been accredited as "media" for the World Nomad Games in Central Asia
Some of the moments that have stuck with us the most include six months in China, a night spent on the Great Wall, the Pamir Highway, the Silk Road, three months in Taiwan, and the incredible encounters in the mountains of Central Asia.
We travel on Falkor, our lucky dragon—a 2014 BMW F800GS that’s been with us since the start and is starting to have some great stories of its own.
While we share our adventure on Instagram, Polarsteps, and YouTube, that’s not why we’re here. The forum’s rules about promotion are clear, and I totally get them. If I’m finally taking the time to write, it’s mostly because after five years on the road, I thought our experience might be useful to other travelers.

I’m planning a motorcycle road trip to Armenia and Georgia in September 2026 or May 2027. I’m looking for one or more riders (male or female) who’d like to explore these countries with me.
Along the way, we’ll visit Cappadocia, the capitals Yerevan, Tbilisi, Sofia, Skopje, and other cities—we can finalize the route and roadbook later.
This trip requires experience with long motorcycle journeys, as we’ll cover around 7,000 km over 5 or 6 weeks (or more, depending on sightseeing and time spent).
I don’t expect dozens of applicants, since motorcycle riders are few and far between on this forum, but I’m putting this out there anyway.

Ideally, coming from Athens, I’d take a bus or train to get as close as possible to a starting point, then rent a scooter (125cc) to explore by taking secondary roads or even coastal paths. I’d stay in 2-3 places for a few days each to discover their surroundings.

What do you think would be the ideal itinerary?
From Athens, the best option would be to take either a flight or a bus to Kalamata. Rent a scooter and head either west or east. Is there a tertiary road (very lightly trafficked) or a path where I can ride slowly, take it easy, and enjoy the scenery without being bothered by traffic? I’d like to go all the way to Monemvasia, still hugging the coast. I need to find a way to avoid returning to Kalamata to drop off the scooter and catch a flight—maybe a small town where the train stops so I can head back to Athens.

How do you get visas for the countries I’ll be crossing: Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, and Chile? Are they e-Visas, obtained at the border, or through embassies?

I’ve got 15 days off in June and I’m pretty undecided about where to go for a motorcycle road trip. Two strong desires are pulling me in different directions: Corsica or Norway.
Corsica has been a dream of mine for a long time: legendary roads, stunning landscapes, a unique vibe, and the perfect mix of sea and mountains. At the same time, I’m wondering if 2 weeks might be *too much* for Corsica—risking feeling like I’ve seen it all too quickly, especially on a bike.
Since I also have an extra week free in May, I could use that specifically for Corsica. Maybe splitting it into two trips would make more sense? If so, which routes or regions would be the most interesting to plan for a 7-day trip?
On the other hand, Norway is *super* appealing. The landscapes look incredible, totally different from anything I’ve experienced, and it’d be a real “wow” trip. I know 15 days is still short for such a vast country. Getting all the way to the North Cape seems pretty much impossible in that time, but I’m curious about what realistic routes could be planned.
So I’m wondering:
Is it better to save Norway for next year, take 3 weeks off, and do it *properly*?
Or are 15 days enough for a first amazing taste of the country?
I’d love to hear about your experiences—whether it’s Corsica (ideal duration, routes) or Norway (what’s realistic in 2 weeks on a bike).

We’re unsure (still debating) whether we should stay at a hotel on-site and get to the memorial with an Uber (leaving our bikes at the hotel) and book a guided tour, or base ourselves in Kraków and take a tour that includes transport.
One thing’s for sure—we’d prefer a guide in French since we don’t speak English 😅.

Unfortunately, I’m worried that parts of the N630 may have disappeared or merged with the A66 motorway, forcing us to ride long stretches of highway, which we’d rather avoid.

This is our first motorcycle trip in Morocco. I got my license two years ago with the dream of taking this kind of trip, and here we are! ✌️😍
In France, we usually ride between 300 to 400 km per day on roadsters. We’re not used to off-road tracks, so we’re looking for easy ones 😅—especially for me 😅.
For Morocco, I’ve planned stages of 200 to 300 km per day.
