Hi everyone, Who’s been to Zanzibar in March? How’s the rain situation, please? And the temperatures? Thanks, Eve13

Hi there,

In March, temperatures hover around 30°C, but I think it's the rainy season, so it might be quite humid. Also, be aware that for the past 2-3 months, travel insurance has been mandatory to visit the island.

Hi there, Thanks for the reply. After some research, it turns out it’s the rainy season 😅. You’ll need a visa plus insurance—both cost around 100 €—to be arranged on the government website. I’m not even going to try; even if it’s hot, rain isn’t great for sightseeing or boat excursions... Best, Eve13

Hi there, Why not Rio? Just a 3-hour drive and you're in Angra dos Reis, where you can embark for paradise: Ilha Grande. https://www.voyagebresil.com/guide-bresil/destination/ilha-grande https://www.clairexplore.com/ilha-grande-bresil

I went there back in the day (the 90s) when you could only go to one beach and there was no accommodation. Now there are plenty of pousadas, but still no roads—and that’s a good thing because no cars!

there’s a whole range of hotels, some of which are pretty classy while still blending into the vegetation.

Hi, I was in Zanzibar last year during the first week of March. It was 30°C, but it felt like 42°C, and at night it was barely cooler (felt like 38–39°C). I even took a screenshot :)

True, with a feels-like 42°C, it probably wasn’t raining much...😏

It didn’t stand out to me—there were a few showers (including 2 "real" ones), but it was probably about one a day. It was mostly sunny.

Insurance for what?

Hi there Thanks, yes, I got some info—it’s right in the middle of the rainy season... yeah, insurance + visa + tourist tax... I’m skipping it this year... I’ll close my post. Thanks 😊
