Travel companion for Algeria in October-November 2026
Hello, I’m heading to Algeria from October 27 to November 16, 2026. I’d love to hear from anyone who’s been through the process about the accommodation attestation required for the visa application: - Does it need to cover the entire duration of the trip? - Is this document mandatory for a hotel owner to rent a room? - Is it checked during an inspection? - Is a hotel booking (via Booking.com or similar) sufficient to obtain the visa? - If so, does it need to be paid in advance?

I plan to visit several cities and do one or more treks with a guide or agency. I’d appreciate any contacts you could recommend.

Lastly, I’d love to share this trip with a companion (male or female) who’s already done some traveling. Of course, we’d organize the journey together.

Thanks for your feedback! Safe travels to all, Dom, Dijon, 64 years old

Travel companions for the Egyptian desert in March 2026
Here I am, 80 years old with two trips to Egypt already under my belt, but I still dream of deserts and a bit of adventure. So, I’ve bought my flight ticket for March 4th, returning on the 18th (arrival in Cairo). My itinerary: 05.03. GEM 06.03. FAYUM OASIS WITH THE VALLEY OF THE WHALES 07. & 08.03. WHITE AND BLACK DESERT 9 & 10.03. ALEXANDRIA, DEPARTURE IN THE EVENING FOR SIWA 11-13.03. SIWA, DEPARTURE IN THE EVENING FOR CAIRO 14-18.03. CAIRO THE ITINERARY IS MORE OR LESS SET.

Since desert trips can’t be done alone, I’m looking for a travel companion (male or female) for these parts of the trip, but I’m also open to sharing the entire journey. Everything’s negotiable as long as everyone’s clear about what they do or don’t want to do. If anyone’s interested in this itinerary, you can contact me via private message so we can get to know each other and see if our plans align. Just so you know, these desert trips are done with a 4x4, driver, guide, and all the logistics that come with it. All of that comes at a price, which is quite high if you’re traveling solo—that’s why sharing makes sense. Plus, traveling as a pair or even a trio is great for sharing the emotions of the journey.

I’ve got a lot of travel experience, and even at 80, I’m still sharp and full of enthusiasm to start this trip, which I hope won’t be my last.

Looking forward to hearing from you, Mimi

Trip proposal to the Red Tadrart in the Algerian desert late November/early December
Hi everyone, I’m looking to put together a small group to explore the Red Tadrart in the Tassili n’Ajjer desert from November 28 to December 7, 2025 (dates flexible depending on participants’ availability). The idea is to experience this adventure together and benefit from group discounts. => Around 1000 € per person for a group of 5 => Less if the group is larger. This won’t be my first trip to the area, so you can trust me when I say you’re in for an incredible experience. Highlights: endless red dunes, natural arches, ancient rock carvings, and camping under the stars. For flight tickets, we can coordinate to optimize schedules and costs based on where everyone’s traveling from. If you’re keen to discover the Sahara in a different way, or if you’d like more details, feel free to reach out. Sarah

Trek proposal in Djanet to discover Sefar - Tassili
🌵 Fancy some desert vibes, simple and authentic experiences?

We’re a group of 3 friends who love wide-open spaces, and we’re putting together a small group (max 10 people – 5 spots left!) for a trek in Djanet.

🌄 No mass tourism here. Just dunes, silence, laughter around the fire, and a human adventure that feels good. If you’re feeling the call of the South, maybe it’s time to answer 😉

Trek in Djanet – Sefar Discover Sefar – The ancient lost city in the heart of the Tassili n’Ajjer: bivouacs, rock paintings, dunes, and magical Saharan vibes 💛

🎫 The flight ticket from Algiers to Djanet is included. 📅 From November 15th to 22nd ✈️ You just need to arrange the Paris to Algiers flight.

🎒 Recommended gear: - Good hiking shoes (around 15 km per day) - Sleeping bag - Water bottle + Aquatabs tablets for water

🚿 Note: no showers during the trek and outdoor toilets. 📵 And most importantly, no network – total disconnection from the world.

Looking for a travel companion for Morocco by motorcycle
Retired, I’d like to spend about 3 weeks to a month in southern Morocco by motorcycle in October. I ride a BMW R1250R, so no off-roading—it’s not a trail bike, I stick to the roads. Departure from the south of Les Landes, crossing Spain, ferry from Algeciras to Tangier, then following the coast and heading south. I have a tent and all the gear for camping and bivouacs, plus a few hotels here and there. Anyone interested in joining for part or all of the road trip? Let’s discuss!

Sharing the Toubkal ascent in the Atlas Mountains in February 2025
Hello fellow adventurers! :) I’m writing this little message to the community and adventurers because I’m thinking of heading to Morocco (a country I know well) for a week in February (around the 6th or 10th, for about a week) to climb Mount Toubkal in the Atlas Mountains. I’m used to hiking and backpacking, but this would be my first 4,000m peak. I think the mountain landscapes are even more stunning in winter. I know it’s necessary to hire a guide for this ascent. Has anyone here already climbed it in winter? If so, any feedback or tips? Also, if anyone wants to join me on this adventure, I’d love the company! :) The idea would be to rent a car (around 10–15 € per day) and do some other hikes in the Marrakech area too. Don’t hesitate to get in touch! antoine.petiard@gmail.com - 0650536769 Looking forward to it, see you soon! Antoine :)

4x4 trip to Morocco in April 2025
Hi everyone. We're thinking of heading to Morocco next April with a 4x4 camper van. We've been there several times before, and this time we'd like to get off the "classic" routes a bit while still passing through Merzouga, some cities, and of course the mountains... All at a relaxed pace. If you're interested... Best regards.

6-Day Desert Trek (April 28 - May 4, 2025) from M'Hamid el Ghizlane / Screaming Dunes
Hi there, With my little family (2 parents and 2 young adults, 20 and 18 years old), we're embarking on an unexpected adventure—a 5-day, 5-night trek in the desert with an agency from M'Hamid el Ghizlane.

What appealed to us was the offer of morning meditation sessions, sensory movement activities, and an introduction to the Whirling Dance for the more adventurous (nothing is mandatory).

Our flight arrives in Ouarzazate on April 28, 2025, and departs on Sunday, May 4. I know some trekkers leave on Monday, May 5, and spend an extra day visiting Ouarzazate and its surroundings.

I think there are still a few spots left—if you're tempted, don’t hesitate! We’d be happy to meet you there.

Fes, Meknes, Volubilis, Marrakech, Ourika, Agadir in November 2024
Hello, I’m Belgian, 68 years old, a frequent solo traveler (Asia, North Africa, Europe). I’m leaving from CHARLEROI (Belgium) for FES on November 20th and returning from AGADIR on December 6th. Plan: sightseeing and walks. Getting around by train, shared buses, and private taxis if needed. Staying in riads except in Agadir (private room). If someone genuine wants to join me on this trip, and/or meet up there for all or part of the journey, here’s my email: mcroemen@live.be or message me on this site. Having some company and sharing the days would be a new experience. Looking forward to meeting you (men or women; age doesn’t matter as long as you’re mobile). Best regards, MARIE PS: Preferably someone who loves to marvel at things (I know what I’m talking about...lol)

Morocco and possibly Mauritania by vehicle, late February 2025
After swapping our Patrol for a Duster, we’re planning a trip to Morocco to test the off-road capabilities of this new vehicle—and if we’re happy with it, we might push on to Mauritania. We’re a retired couple used to this kind of trip, and we’ll be leaving around late February 2025... Our passions: off-the-beaten-path travel, photography, wildlife, prehistory, and meeting locals. Looking for one or two other crews with similar interests...
