What to see in Amorgos

Aegiali
This is the second port of the island and a seaside resort nestled at the head of a bay. You can hike in the surrounding area toward several small villages (Potamos, Langada, Tholaria).
Chora
Small and peaceful, the island's "capital" is considered one of the most beautiful in the Cyclades, with its narrow streets, traditional white-and-blue architecture, and windmills. You can also visit three small museums (archaeology, ecclesiastical, and folklore).
Katapola
This is the main entry point to the island by ferry. The few ancient ruins of the former Minoan colony lie on its outskirts.
Hozoviotissa Monastery
This 11th-century monastery is one of the most spectacular in Greece and one of the oldest Byzantine structures in the Cyclades. It clings dramatically to the cliffside, its white color contrasting sharply, and overlooks the sea from nearly 300 meters high.

Hiking

The island is a favorite destination for hikers and is even one of the most interesting in the Cyclades, thanks to its many former mule trails. In addition to discovering small villages that can serve as stops, these hikes offer stunning landscapes and sea views. In total, Amorgos has around ten marked trails (see details) for walks lasting a few hours.

Climate and weather in Amorgos

The island has a Mediterranean climate, sunny and windy, also characterized by summer drought and rainfall mainly in winter. In terms of temperatures, in winter the thermometer rarely drops below 10°C, and in summer it rarely rises above 30°C.

In terms of climate (and even crowd levels), the best time to visit is spring or early autumn, rather than July-August, which can sometimes be too hot and quite crowded.
