The heart of the country isn't really its most touristy area, but rather a transit zone—including by air, with Frankfurt, which is Lufthansa's main hub—en route to other destinations. However, you can still see a few abbeys (including Eberbach Abbey), castles (Wartburg, a UNESCO site, being the main one), and towns that have preserved some medieval heritage (Marburg, Rüdesheim, etc.).
