Getting to Egypt by Land or Sea
Location Map of Egypt
By Land
Borders
Egypt shares land borders with Libya (1,115 km), Sudan (1,276 km), Israel (208 km), and Palestine (West Bank) (11 km, Gaza side).
From Neighbouring Countries
Given the situation in the region, crossings to Libya and Palestine (Gaza Strip) are not possible and/or strongly discouraged. For Sudan, rather than by land, you can reach Aswan from Wadi Halfa (Sudan) by weekly boat on Lake Nasser for around thirty euros per trip with the "Nile River Valley Transport Corporation". Finally, for Israel (and Jordan by land), the Taba-Eilat crossing is the only option.

Ferries
There are no ferry lines between Europe and Egypt; only cargo ships make the route. However, you can travel from Aswan to Wadi Halfa (Sudan) by boat with the "Nile River Valley Transport Corporation", and especially reach Jordan by ferry. This line, operated by AB Maritime, connects Nuweiba to the Jordanian port of Aqaba in 1.5/3 hours by sea, depending on the boat, with a minimum fare of $60 per trip.
Cargo
Thanks to the Suez Canal, Egypt (Port Said, Suez, etc.) is easily accessible by cargo ships.
Cruises
While Alexandria and the Red Sea have long been classic stops for many cruise ships in the region, for security reasons, these are no longer regularly scheduled by cruise operators.
