Touristically, the town’s appeal lies in its status as the oyster capital. Half of the Arcachon Basin’s production comes from its seven ports. Additionally, Gujan-Mestras is also the leading amusement park destination in Aquitaine, with five sites (Aqualand, La Coccinelle, Kid Parc...).
