This vast state of barely a million inhabitants, on the Canadian border, is home to a few sites from the Gold Rush and Native American epics like the Little Bighorn Battlefield. But it is above all a "nature state" with its wide-open spaces where, between the eastern plains and the Rocky Mountains to the west, you’ll discover several stunning locations, the best known being Glacier National Park and the famous Yellowstone National Park, which spans three states.

Nature and Activities
Like the rest of the region, Montana is a "nature state." While the eastern part may seem a bit monotonous with its vast plains, the western side, with the Rocky Mountains, offers beautiful landscapes and many points of interest, such as the Beartooth Mountains, the Flathead Valley, and especially the Glacier National Park or the Yellowstone Park. And with that comes a wide range of outdoor activities, both summer and winter, from all kinds of hikes to rafting and skiing.
