History of Moulay Bouzerktoun

The site has a stunning beach between dunes and cliffs. Strong winds (the *cherki*) blow mainly from March to November, but windsurfing and kitesurfing can be practised year-round. However, the spot requires a certain skill level.

Transport

Getting there

If you’re not driving, you can reach the village by shared taxi or bus for around 2 € from Essaouira. The village is just over a kilometre from the main road.

Getting around

The village is tiny and right by the beach, so you can easily get around on foot.

Sleeping and eating

Moulay Bouzerktoun has a few budget-friendly homestay options and a café-restaurant (Dar Lawana) that can provide information (there’s also a small grocery store for basics). That said, with a few exceptions, comfort is generally basic, but you can stay for under 12 € per person, and windsurfers can leave their gear on-site. Otherwise, Essaouira isn’t far away.
