Tourist Sites and Areas

Promenade des Anglais
Even if some find its reputation overrated, it remains the symbol of the city. Stretching 7 kilometres, this legendary avenue runs along the seafront in the Baie des Anges, while on the land side, elegant old villas and the first grand palaces of the Côte d'Azur, such as the Negresco, line up.
Old Nice
This district, which developed as early as the 14th century, is a "must-see" in the city of Nice. At the foot of Castle Hill, it’s a maze of narrow streets lined with beautiful yellow-hued facades. Lively and bustling, the area is home to both small local shops and trendier spots (bars, restaurants, galleries).

Monuments and Architectural Landmarks

Cathédrale Saint-Nicolas
This Russian Orthodox cathedral dates from 1912 and is one of the most important in the world outside Russia. It reflects the large Russian community that lived in the city in the early 20th century. As with this type of building, its architecture (with its onion domes) is striking, as is its interior decoration.
Sainte-Réparate Cathedral
This beautiful 17th-century building is the largest sanctuary in Old Nice. Its façade, like its interior, is Baroque in style.
Lascaris Palace
This 17th-century aristocratic residence in Old Nice now houses the Museum of Early Musical Instruments. Beyond the museum, it’s a chance to explore its interiors with their period decoration and furnishings.
Place Garibaldi
The oldest of the large squares in Nice. Partly pedestrianised, it’s surrounded by beautiful ochre-coloured façades and numerous bars and restaurants, making it a lively spot.
Saint-François Tower
With 288 steps and standing 42 metres tall, Saint-François Tower offers a lovely panorama of the city and its surroundings from the top.
