Première réaction en voyant l'intitulé du message: chouette, on va avoir plein de couleurs, ça va être gai comme tout! 🙂
Mais après, en relisant ton message, me voilà un peu gênée aux entournures.... Tu permets que je fasse ma casse-pieds, ma râleuse, ma ch.... ?
Je te cite:
Que ce soit un habit de fêtes, de ceremonies ou un habit du quotidien, celui-ci est très souvent indicateur de la région où il se trouve. La photo devra montrer l’habit porté(pas de mannequins en vitrine😉) dans son environnement.Je veux dire par là, qu’un homme en djellaba sur la place rouge ça ne marche pas, Un béret basque dans désert du Sahara non plus !!!!…
Malheureusement, la réalité du tourisme contemporain fait que dans certaines région du monde, les costumes traditionnels sont sortis pour faire plaisir au visiteur de passage , ou alors mis en scène pour gagner quelques pièces sonnantes et trébuchantes (comme on peut le voir dans certaines régions d'Ethiopie). Dernièrement, à Istanbul, j'ai rencontré des chinois d'une minorité musulmane portant de magnifiques costumes traditionnels pour visiter le palais Topkapi. Suivant ton règlement, ils auraient été hors concours (j'emplois le conditionnel, je ne les ai pas pris en photo) alors que pour le coup, c'était bien des costumes de chez eux portés par eux, dans un autre contexte. Et puis du coup, tu élimines aussi toutes les possibilités d'échanges de vêtements ou de couvre-chef, de rencontre (là encore, c'est théorique, je n'ai pas ces photos dans mes tiroirs, mais j'adorerais). Un exemple de décalage: un ami touareg s'est mis en tête de visiter tous les déserts du monde pour les comparer à son Sahara. Il avait glissé sa takakat et son chèche dans sa valise et les a sortis pour parcourir pieds nus LA dune de sable du désert de Gobi (désert caillouteux bien comme il faut). Alors il est complètement hors sujet, et pourtant..... il raconte une belle histoire, non?
En vrai, pourquoi je grogne? 😉 Au Liban vit une très importantes communauté éthiopienne (et bengali, et congolaise, et philippine, et.... mais c'est une autre histoire), employées comme bonnes et habillées le plus souvent d'infâmes costumes d'employées de maison. J'ai eu la chance de les accompagner l'an dernier lors de leur cérémonie de noël éthiopien. Elles avaient toutes sorties leurs plus belles tenues, superbes, pour assister à la messe orthodoxe, au sein de leur communauté, dans leur église. Elles n'étaient pas chez elles, mais pourtant il n'y avait rien d'artificiel dans ce déballage vestimentaire. Alors je me dis que je vais la mettre quand même celle-là, tant pis. Une église est bien un environnement, non? 😛

Je comprends ta réaction Cocotte, il est vrai que l'on porte ses propres habitats hors de ses frontières , mais l'association de l'habits et sa région me semble important, tu n'as pas un titi parisien casquette sur la tête baguette sous le bras???😉

Au moins cette photo à le mérite de porter le débat.😉
Je dirais que sur cette photo, les habits sont mis en situation.Ils servent réellement d'apparat, ils sont portés par la croix dans un contexte de tradition et dans un lieu ou cette tradition est pérpetuée. contrairement à une vitrine ou ils seraient plus dans une situation d'exposition , de vente...C'est vrai que le cas est délicat🙂, je ni avais pas pensé...🤪

🙂 Merci à rous les deux ! Ce qui m'amusait, c'est que cette croix ait revêtu ces habit pour la fête d'Inti Rani qui est la fête du Soleil le 21 Juin ( solstice d'hiver dans l' hémisphère sud donc la date où les jours rallongent ) grand fête de l'Inca.
Une autre photo de Cusco pour Inti Rani que j'ai déjà postée dans un autre concours et que personnellement j'aime bien aussi, bien que très "classique" celle là. Les différents roses produits par la teinture de cochenille , les chapeaux rond en forme de soleil portés justement ce jour là et le joli sourire de la mère du bébé.

Il n'y a plus nulle part de "grandes images" visibles. Uniquement des liens cliquables... et des vignettes attachées.

🙂Bon la discution au sujet de l'herbergement des photos sur le forum ou ailleurs est terminée .. je pense (dommage pour le post de la récapitulation de tous les sujets des concours précédents qui a périclité , hélas 😕!!) Il y a déjà pas mal de clichés intéressants sur ce sujet ..dont une postée dernièrement que j'aime 😉 mais hélas😕 je pense un tout petit peu hors-sujet car elle aurait été parfaite dans le thème "portrait du monde" 😉(je ne dirai pas laquelle pour ne pas influencer les votes futurs ) et non le thème du mois !
Je veux juste en rajouter 2 autres sur ce thème du mois de juillet !! 2 éthiopiennes dans leur costume traditionnel fait en peau de bête prise dans un marché au sud du pays (toutes les femmes sont habillées comme cela et sur ce marché on a l'impression d'être revenu au temps des cavernes !!)

... à mon avis la solution ne doit pas passer par un hébergement par VF. Ce site n'a pas été conçu pour être une plateforme de stockage de photos en particulier à gérer l'affichage de moult photos non optimisées pour le web, c'est ce qui a logiquement conduit les administrateurs VF à prendre des mesures draconiennes pour améliorer le confort de visualisation des pages.
Tu as fait le plus difficile c'est à dire archiver l'ensemble des clichés depuis le début, tu as créé les vignettes des concours mensuels, reste plus qu'à les mettre sur un blog ou plus modestement sur une simple page html hébergé au bon endroit et de rajouter les liens qui vont bien 😉.
J'ai bien ressenti ta déception de voir le résultat de ton boulot suite aux dernières modifications d'affichage réalisées sur le site et c'est bien compréhensible 😕. J'ai un peu "bossé" sur le sujet ces derniers temps et je pense pouvoir bientôt illustrer (après quelques vérifications de liens) mes propos.

Tu as fait le plus difficile c'est à dire archiver l'ensemble des clichés depuis le début, tu as créé les vignettes des concours mensuels, reste plus qu'à les mettre sur un blog ou plus modestement sur une simple page html hébergé au bon endroit et de rajouter les liens qui vont bien 😉.
J'ai bien ressenti ta déception de voir le résultat de ton boulot suite aux dernières modifications d'affichage réalisées sur le site et c'est bien compréhensible 😕. J'ai un peu "bossé" sur le sujet ces derniers temps et je pense pouvoir bientôt illustrer (après quelques vérifications de liens) mes propos.

Sûrement pas. Il me semblait justement qu'il était préférable d'héberger ailleurs, et je ne vais pas rapatrier les images ici. Il eut été si simple pourtant, notamment pour les images Picasa ou Flickr (les autres je ne sais pas), de réduire la taille dans le lien*. Ça se fait ailleurs très bien.
Pour le reste, tu as une partie des réponses. Les voies de Google sont impénétrables. 🤪 Vu d'ici, tout va bien. Les albums sont protégés, même ceux concernant VF. Si "photosderik" est dans le lien d'un album ou d'une photo, c'est à moi, 🙂 sinon, ben non. 😛

Apparemment VF propose des solutions pour intégrer des vidéos Youtube, Dailymotion, Vimeo pour donner de la vie à nos posts mais a semble t'il des difficultés pour gérer l'information dans les liens des principaux hébergeurs d'images sur le web, bizarre quand même 😊.

Here’s the definition of a bridge: “A structure, typically made of stone, wood, or metal, that spans a depression or obstacle (such as a transportation route or waterway) by connecting the two sides or crossing over the obstacle.”
Viaducts, aqueducts, and footbridges will all be accepted.
Millau Viaduct
To allow for as many original photos as possible, the bridge can be photographed from the side, below, or above—the main thing is that it’s the focal point of the image.

Pont du Gard from below
Details are also welcome, as long as you can still recognize it’s a bridge 😊

Since it’s April Fools’ month and I’m a diver at heart, I had to pick a theme around the sea and fish.
This month’s theme is: sea fishing 🙂. Deep-sea fishing, rockpooling, shore casting, shellfish & crustaceans—anything remotely related to sea fishing fits the bill 😉
Photos of fishing boats, fishing ports, fish auctions, seafood stalls, nets and trawls, lobster pots, fishermen, your kids collecting cockles, even those New Year’s oyster shells 😏—no limits as long as it ties into the theme 😛 And of course, a special shout-out to anglers worldwide! 🙂
I’m traveling right now, so I don’t have many photos on hand. To illustrate the theme, I’ve chosen this shot of a small Vietnamese fishing boat I spotted near the Cham Islands, returning from a dive.
Contest rules: You can post up to three photos, each in a separate message, clearly numbering them (1, 2, or 3) and including the location where the photo was taken. Any explanations about your photos are welcome.
When voting, you’ll choose three photos, clearly stating the participant’s name followed by their photo number. The first photo in your vote gets three points, the second gets two, and the third gets one.

If you’ve got nice photos of a pond—or even a puddle—why not? Natural bodies of water only: no pools or fountains (reservoir lakes are accepted… because they often look like natural lakes ).

To chat about waterways, this is the place.
I suggest we compete with photos of towers. No magic tricks or potter’s wheels—we’re talking about "tour" as in the feminine noun. So, a kind of tall building, round, square, or polygonal, or a high structure that could be metallic, or a flat-topped bell tower (campanile), or a high-rise building (building)...
You can find them almost everywhere in the world and from all eras.
The tower(s) must be the main subject of the photo.
Examples:
The first photo, which is Saint Mark’s Square (with the Campanile), won’t be accepted.
The second one, where the Campanile tower is the main subject, will be accepted.

So, it’s settled—the first idea (this book about the lush garden of a New York state parsonage, "this garden obsessed with the love this man had for his late wife." Reverend Cheney musically noting all the birdsongs, the water droplets in the watering can, the wind rushing through cloaks at the end of the 19th century) will be the theme.
Garden: A plot of land, usually enclosed, attached or not to a dwelling, planted with useful or ornamental vegetation.
So, private gardens, vegetable patches, herb gardens, botanical gardens, winter gardens with their lush greenhouses, the "hortus conclusus" of cloisters evoking the Garden of Eden, public gardens, and their extension into parks are all welcome. I’m sure I’ve forgotten some...
Photos can be posted until Monday, November 24 at midnight, following the usual rules: one per message, numbered from 1 to 3, with the location of the shot and, if you’d like, a few details.
Voting, where you explicitly assign 3 to 1 points to your top 3 photos, will take place from Tuesday, November 25 at 12:01 AM until Sunday, November 30 at midnight. The results will be announced on December 1.

This theme has probably been done before... but not recently, at least 😉 Doors—open, closed, of houses, castles... even if only the threshold remains. Since I’m not home, I don’t have access to my photos right now, and regarding the rules, I’ll let you refer to one of the previous contests.
Photos can be posted until Thursday the 23rd at 11:59 PM (Paris time). Voting will take place from the 24th to the 30th of October, and the results will be announced on the 31st during the day.

So, this theme isn’t exactly a "travel invitation," but coming up with a new one is quite a puzzle 😅. During February’s “white” theme discussion, we had pages of cats, so you should be inspired 😸. I won’t be restrictive—wild felines, domestic cats, and even those in zoos (though I’m not a fan) will be accepted. Plus, engravings, paintings, statues, or any other representations of felines fit the theme. The Sphinx is also welcome ;).

This month’s theme is: “Reflection(s)” This leaves a pretty wide scope: reflections in water, of course, but also in windows, on buildings... I’ll leave it to your imagination, but the reflection should be clearly visible.
If this theme has been used before, it doesn’t matter. It’s getting tricky to find new themes that can attract as many participants as possible.
I’m currently in northern Finland and don’t have access to my hard drives, so I’ll add a few photos when I return to France. Here’s just one I took with my smartphone yesterday late afternoon:
