J'ai tout vendu, l'appart' la voiture, les actions, le PEA etc ...
Il faut dire aussi que j'étais (et çà s'est pas amélioré ...) réfractaire aux tracasseries administratives.
Après 7 ans de séjour (je n'ai pas choisi la Thaïlande, c'est la Thaïlande qui m'a choisi en la personne de mon épouse), j'ai compris que, sur le plan administratif, le couple France/Thaïlande n'est pas un couple très intéressant.
Les français (administrativement parlant) sont tâtillons, "impérialistes" (exigent des documents qui n'existent pas ailleurs), et la convention fiscale entre les deux pays est défavorable pour les retraités.
Avec le Maroc (d'après lectures ...), la Malaisie, et d'autres sans doute, la France ne vous impose pas sur votre retraite si vous résidez dans ce(s) pays.
La Malaisie ne vous fera payer aucun impôt sur aucun revenu "ramené de l'étranger" si vous êtes dans le plan "Malaysia My Second Home".
Par contre, si vous êtes en Thaïlande, vous devrez déclarer votre retraite en France et payer des impôts en conséquence, vous serez sans aucun doute considéré comme un "réfugié fiscal" imposé au taux minimum de 20% ...
Les intérêts perçus sur des comptes en France ne seront -si vous réussissez à fournir tous les documents qui vous seront demandés- pas imposés, il vous faudra les déclarer en Thaïlande dans la mesure où vous les transférerez dans le pays, idem pour les plus-values (bourse, assurance-vie) ...
En Thaïlande, et par expérience (je suis assez "collant" et me décourage très difficilement), toute sorte de papier officiel sera difficile à obtenir (sans "piston" ...), soit on ne vous comprendra pas, soit on pourra vous "négliger" (encore un falang-baa qui veut payer des impôts ? 😛)
NB: J'ajoute que je ne suis pas assez "culotté" pour proposer des "dessous de table" par moi-même, or quasiment tout ne peut se régler ici que comme çà ...
Pour les "bestioles", si vous avez le coeur mal accroché, ne venez pas.
Si vous n'aimez pas "chaud et humide", ne venez pas etc ...
En conclusion (ou résumé) je n'ai pas eu l'impression (à vous lire) que vous étiez le "client" rêvé pour venir vous installer en Thaïlande, même si les aspects purement économiques de vos données "collent" parfaitement (1200€ par mois) pour un style de vie "correct" (mais ni luxueux ni patachonnesque).

Perso, cest le Cambodge qui m'a choisi !🤪..Et pour le moment, il est beaucoup plus simple d'y séjourner à l'année qu'en thailande...
A moins d'avoir une raison familiale, j'ai toujours pensé qu'il valait mieux investir dans les pays riches que les pays pauvres...Mais lorsque l'on a une retraite qui tombe, je ne vois aucun interet à l'achat qui est un frein à la mobilité...et source de bien de jalousies et d'enmerdes...
Ne pas oublier que tout est affaire de reseaux et que sans il vaut mieux ne rien posséder là bas...

J'étais ingénieur et on m'a viré à 52 balais comme "trop vieux" (donc sans espoir aucun de retrouver du boulot).
Si j'étais resté en France, les indemnités de licenciement (30 ans d'ancienneté !) auraient été bouffées en 3-4 ans au plus et après j'aurais dû "manger le patrimoine".
De plus, je serais sans doute devenu "aigri" et déprimé à force de me faire blackbouler de partout !
Lors d'une visite médicale, 6 mois avant le licenciement, le cardio m'avait dit que, si je voulais passer les 60 ans, il me fallait "changer de style de vie".
Vivant ici, les indemnités n'ont pas encore été toutes mangées, j'ai déjà une retraite (la complémentaire) et vais toucher bientôt celle de base.
En résumé, j'ai fait le bon choix, même si, en bon français que je suis, ma femme trouve que je râle tout le temps ... 😉😉😉😉
NB: Mes deux parents sont décédés et nous n'avons pas eu d'enfant.
Je n'ai qu'une soeur en France qu'il vaut mieux éviter ...

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
