Il y en a deux trois qui tiennent la route mais a part ca je ne trouve pas que la qualite soit fantastique, mais c'etait pas forcement une bonne idee de sujet je pense. Ceci dit je demeure persuade que les intemperies sont un beau sujet pour qui veut bien s'y interesser et y risquer son matos !

Chacun donne au mot intempéries le sens qu'il veut, mais pour moi, il doit tomber quelque chose.
J'élimine sans hésitation celles où il fait beau (un comble, non ?), où y a de jolis nuages ou des arcs-en-ciel.
Mention spéciale à Ragamuffin : belle saisie de l'instant, malheureusement trop centrée Mekong : malheureusement, c'est après, on ne sait pas si ce sont les intempéries ou une conduite qui a pété 😇 Lahaut : j'aurais voté pour cette photo si je n'avais pas voté pour une autre Vévouille : réellement impressionnant, mais pas assez typé voyage Geob : Trop parisien pour moi Gizmo94 : les parapluies sont invisibles, du coup, la pluie aussi. Les photos que je ressort de la grisaille (mais je l'ai déjà dit, pas très convaincu en général car trop de photos visiblement tirées un peu au hasard sans véritable recherche de composition de la part du photographe, ce qui restera toujours mon principal critère de vote, même si ce n'est pas le plus répandu ici)
- Mékong : Photo "propre" (piqué et contraste) mais le fouillis de la scène nuit à la lisibilité de l'image (trop de sujets donc l'oeil s'y perd) Intéressant quand même pour le caractère "informatif" - Geob : Idée sympa mais pas assez parfaite techniquement (peut-être avec un matos "un peu court" en performance donc, dans ce cas, le photographe est un peu excusé) - Lahaut : Simple et original (le genre de photos à publier dans un catalogue de randonnées extrêmes !😉) - Cocotte : Bel éclairage et joli "saupoudrage" des chevaux mais un peu hors sujet (aurait pu figurer dans le précédent concours !) - Williama : Belle compo mais le manque de piqué sur l'arrière plan me gêne un peu (ou on fait du "net" ou du "totalement flou" et ici on est trop entre les deux) - Masterpo : Belle photo même si le cadrage un peu trop serré écrase trop la scène à mon goût, mais ce n'est qu'un point de vue perso

Quelques photos m'ont particulièrement plu. je n'ai gardé que celles qui ont été prise pendant les intempéries, car je me suis rendue compte combien il est difficile de saisir ces moments là !
3 - Katelolo et son moment de tendresse à travers les gouttes 2 - Masterpro, très élégante sous la neige, mais il manque à mon goût un peu la "part humaine" 1 - Mon choix va à Ragamuffin qui colle parfaitement au sujet, et qui nous transmet la joie de ce bonhomme qui danse sous la pluie.

J'ai trouvé le thème à la fois très intéressant (c'est celui que j'aurai choisi si j'avais eu à organiser le concours un jour) et un peu traitre dans le sens ou tout était accepté (toujours possible de lacher un "avant l'orage" ou "apres l'orage") alors que finalement la plupart des gens vont voter pour une photo qui a lieu pendant l'intempérie...
Donc en essayant de ne pas me laisser trop tenter par la présence des gouttes ou des flocons, et en privilégiant moi aussi l'esthétique et la compo de la photo (t'es pas tout seul christiang), mon palmares est le suivant: - Lahaut: compo sympa et bel effort pour le pluie. - Vévouille: très impressionant et très esthétique. Presque trop graphique (et donc moins dans le voyage et l'émotion) - Williama: presque irréel ce vieux voilier qui vole dans la tempete. On se croierai au cinema. - Gunst: joli. - Masterpro: très belle ambiance de solitude, bien dans le sujet et belle compo. - Colysée: Très poétique. On peut tout a fait ressentir le froid mordant de l'Europe centrale. Très belle composition.
Me suis finalement laissée convaincre par la neige. Apres avoir beaucoup hésiter entre Matserpro et Colysée, mon gagnant sra finalement Colysée

2) 3) exéco)j'ai décidé de participer jusqu'au bout .... aprés avoir réalisé que je n'avais rien à faire sur ce "concours" où ne sont pas les bienvenus certains photographes jugés nuls par tous les autres mais bien que me sentant un peu "hors sujet" et surtout pas du tout pro ....je joue le jeu avant de dégager vite fait ....désolée d'avoir dérangé ces "messieurs dames ................"
voici cependant un vote qui en tant que tel en vaut bien un autre...!!😛ma préférence va à micahbzh car il est tout à fait à propos et surtout pas retouché comme pour certains autres...!!chutes de neige à New Yorknuméro 2 : lahaut car bien dans le sujetnuméro 3 vevouille belle photo bon ressenti..j'aime bien herikles aussi ....et pour la plûpart d'entre les autres , quoique dans sa proposition de départ Makalux autorisait "l'avant" et "l"aprés" intempéries il y a eu des hors sujets , ou jugés comme tels, trés vite ( dont moi qui pourtant ai photographié juste quelques minutes avant les intempéries..) mais il n'empêche que ce sont toujours les mêmes qui se retrouvent ici....c'est un concours photos ...donc mes salutations distinguées à tous et continuez à vous congratuler ....je regarderai les prochains concours selon le sujet...à tchao!

Dommage Makalux que tu n'aies pas mis de photo, j'en avais repéré une ou 2 sur ton site qui me plaisaient beaucoup.....😉 (Pélerinage sous la neige.) Bon sinon, thème difficile et limité malgré les interprétations possibles de ciel couvert..... Très peu correspondent pour moi VRAIMENT au thème. J'aurais aimé voir des photos de mousson, mais c'est difficile de photographier la pluie si on n'est pas à l'abri et en plus de faire de "bonnes" photos des intempéries !
Quelques photos qui ont retenu mon attention :
- Ragamuffin N°2 : une photo sous la pluie qui correspond vraiment au thème tel que je l'imaginais. L'instant est sympa, la photo aurait pu être meilleure si le personnage avait été mieux placé. - Mékong N°6 : une photo d'Asie après une averse de mousson, où la vie continue, assez joyeuse. J'aime bien cette photo de rue assez typique et finalement ordinaire. - J'aime bien aussi la photo N°21 de Dauclair assez originale avec ses imperméables colorés. Et la N°52 d'Attila.
Voici mon vote :
J'ai hésité entre la photo N°23 de Pierre123 et la photo N°58 de Masterpo :
- Pierre123, très belle photo. J'aime toujours autant le côté esthétique des mosquées. Et le contraste entre la couleur blanc du marbre et le ciel noir est superbe !
- Mais je choisis la photo de Masterpo N°58 qui correspond mieux au thème et qui me semble plus difficile à réaliser. La jeune fille assise dans le fond ajoute vraiment un plus à l'ambiance. Le noir et blanc est superbe et donne un petit côté Doisneau, (ça pourrait être une fontaine parisienne). (Je crois tout de même que je préfèrais la photo originale que tu as présentée dans la discussion.)

Mon podium gagnant, j'ai privilégié les courageux qui ont sortis leur appareil sous la pluie:
1_ Ragamuffin "danse sous la pluie" 2_Lahaut "treck sous la pluie" 3_Dolma "ballade sous la pluie" J'ai apprécié aussi les photos de Thaga sur le bateau dans la baie de San Francisco, Phil64, Katelolo pour la tendresse dégagée sous la pluie, Latuvu pour sa photo et son poème. ....et puis bravo aux autres mais il faut bien faire un classement!

Le sujet n'était pas facile et je trouve la qualité moyenne des photos assez en retrait par rapport aux concours précédents, ceci dit les photos suivantes me plaisent pas mal :
#6 Mekong : dommage qu'il n'y ait pas un peu plus de gens de face mais je trouve que l'image nous transporte bien sur place #29 Cocotte : une belle carte postale (c'est un compliment...) peut être pas l'image qui cadre le mieux avec le thème mais une très jolie photo #40 Williama : Bien content que ca ne soit pas ma routine... ce pauvre bateau a l'air bien frèle pour affronter ces vagues #43 Colysee : C'est très esthétique, la dame aurait été prise (en tout bien tout honneur) quelques pas plus tôt et c'était parfait #44 Gunst : il y avait de quoi faire une photo gagnante, dommage que ca penche et que ce soit (légérement) voilé #48 Thaga : jolie scène, dommage pour la bande noire au premier plan
Il y a beaucoup de photos hors concours qui auraient pu figurer dans ma liste, le choix n'est jamais facile mais c'est un bon exercice.
Finalement mon vote ira à Colysée (photo #43) pour sa très jolie image qui change de ce qu'on voit souvent sur ce forum, bravo.
Bravo aussi à Cocotte qui prend ma deuxième place.

🙂Moins de photos que les mois précédents 😕et le thème "nuage" aurait mieux correspondu avec tous les clichés postés !(et de plus l'organisateur n'a pas mis de photo pour lancer le concours !!😕)

Apres avoir longtemps hesite avec la photo d"oreille, je vote finalement pour williama, et sa photo que je trouve tres particuliere. Un rendu de gravure ou de bande dessine, c'est selon.
Les images new-yorkaises ont un tres bon potentiel, mais je ne les trouve pas assez aboutie sur le plan technique (contre-plongee pour l'unde, un peu grisouille pour l'autre). J'ai toujours adore les photos de new-york sous la neige.

Je vote quand même pour Raggamuffin et Oreille, peut être moins esthétisantes que les photos de nuages sombres et de contrastes lumière/eau, mais nettement plus vivantes :)

Mes choix sont motivés par mon interprétation du terme "intempéries".
Certaines photos sont esthétiquement trés jolies mais je m'attendais à de la pluie, de la neige et autres perturbations...
En n°1: Masterpro La femme emmitouflée dans un coin apporte le petit plus qui manquait à cette image un peu "figée" Moi aussi je préférais la première épreuve, non retouchée, qui laissait apparaître quelques taches colorées. En numéro 2: Ragamuffin Photo joyeuse, qui me rappelle quand j'étais petite... Ayant passé l'âge de sauter à pieds joints dans les flaques d'eau... Quoique...😐 En numéro 3: Colysée J'ai d'abord pensé que la femme était dans un cimetière!🤪 Puis j'ai retrouvé quelque chose des années 60. Peut être un style de photos gardées dans des albums de famille et tant de fois consultées!
Sinon j'aime celles de Pierre123, Lahaut, Williama, Tafakara, Thaga, Gunst.

Mon vote va pour la photo de Vévouille (23), cette tornade est impressionnante et bien cadrée, bravo !
Quelques autres photos ont particulièrement attiré mon regard comme le cadrage de Williama (40) avec ce résultat sous cet angle qui donne un bateau qui paraît moins imposant que les vagues du premier plan. Makalux à sans doute fait l'erreur du choix des termes de l'intitulé de son concours car le thème "intempéries" fait effectivement penser à la pluie où a la neige. Dommage car l'explication du thème permettait d'agrandir la vision photographique de chacun, souvenons nous :
Je propose une definition large du concept d'intempéries, car j'ai peur que certains photographes laissent leur appareil dans le sac a la moindre ondee. Photos de pluies petites ou tropicales, neige, nuage menacant, orages, etc ...
A mon avis il y avait matière à vouloir passer "entre les gouttes"et au sec, peut on voir de plus beaux paysages à "l'orée" d'un orage lorsque le ciel devient franchement noir sous les derniers rayons d'un soleil rasant. Pas facile à faire mais c'est sans doute ce qui fait le charme mais aussi la difficulté de la photo de paysage.
J'avoue que sur ce type de photo je suis resté sur ma faim car pour moi, soleil, nuages, montagne, l'eau ne suffisent pas comme éléments pour créer mon émotion photographique. La lumière ne faisant pas tout il manquait souvent un réel point fort qui m'attire, me dirige l'oeil.

Pépito d'Or à : Jémaflor n°31 (Compostion sobre, axée sur la symétrie de l'arc en ciel et de son reflet, la petite barque avec les 2 pêcheurs en silhouette vient à point nommé pour créer le point fort qui attire mon oeil et rompre en fin de compte cette symétrie sans doute trop "monotone" et trop "simple" sans cet élément. Bravo Jémaflor, encore une photo que j'aimerais bien voir en grand format 50x70 cm par exemple).
Pépito d'Argent à : Phil64 n°36 (Belle composition en contre jour pour cette photo en pseudo noir & blanc avec du détail dans les ombres, et beaucoup d'intensité dans ce ciel qui se répercute sur toute la scène).
Pépito de bronze à : Ming2 n°18 (qui me prouve que du coté de l'Asie, y'a moyen de faire du paysage autrement que de faire de l'humain, il était temps presqu'un an après le 1er concours photos VF même si à mon sens la photo de paysage se prête souvent mieux au format horizontal (voir panoramique) qu'au format vertical). Son cliché n'est sans doute pas parfait au niveau du cadrage (bateau coupé) mais l'éclairage est intéressant.
D'autres photos ont bien sûr retenu mon attention je pense dans le désordre à : Gunst, Williama, Attila, Vévouille.

Et comme je suis un touriste, comme 99,99% des participants de cet aimable tournoi, je vote pour celle de : LAHAUT (22) On sent l'accablement des randonneurs, on les entend maudire ce temps pourri !
Celle de Ragamuffin, au contraire, nous montre la différence entre un touriste et un habitant du pays. La pluie, quel soulagement ! Tous ceux qui ont vécu une saison des pluies comprennent la joie du gamin !
La photo de Katelo indiffère sans doute les techniciens, laborantins, scientifiques de la photographie dont les critiques sentencieuses me font bien rire, mais pour ma part, comme peut me chaut toutes ces considérations, je trouve cette photographie émouvante, profondément humaine. ( eh oui, l'humain ça compte, même sur une photo !)

Ces deux concepts étant bien entendu opposés... on sait tous que l'émotion passe par une photo sous exposée, floue et débordante d'éléments parasites. Ce pauvre McCurry dont on a parlé sur l'autre fil n'a vraiment rien compris à la photographie et a gaché de superbes opportunités de chef d'oeuvre en se souvenant des bases de la photographie!!!
Heureusement que l'élite photographique de VF est la pour remettre en place les vraies valeurs et pour enfin dire bien haut et fort que la technique va au détriment de la photographie

Je loue la très belle qualité des photos de Mc Curry, il n'y a pas de discussion possible là dessus. Néanmoins, un cliché avec des imperfections peut aussi donner une émotion. ! Il n'y a pas que la technique, même si elle est nécessaire ...
Justement un concours sur un forum comme celui là, non spécialiste, donne une place à tous ... Ce qui ne signifie pas un refus de s'améliorer, et les critiques, quand elles ne sont pas acerbes, sont toujours profitables.
La technique ne va pas au détriment de la photo, elle doit seulement la servir... Mais à elle seule, elle n'est pas suffisante pour émouvoir !
Et je regrette, celle de Katelolo, malgré son "vilain" reflet, me touche... C'est aussi simple que ça ...

Here’s the definition of a bridge: “A structure, typically made of stone, wood, or metal, that spans a depression or obstacle (such as a transportation route or waterway) by connecting the two sides or crossing over the obstacle.”
Viaducts, aqueducts, and footbridges will all be accepted.
Millau Viaduct
To allow for as many original photos as possible, the bridge can be photographed from the side, below, or above—the main thing is that it’s the focal point of the image.

Since it’s April Fools’ month and I’m a diver at heart, I had to pick a theme around the sea and fish.
This month’s theme is: sea fishing 🙂. Deep-sea fishing, rockpooling, shore casting, shellfish & crustaceans—anything remotely related to sea fishing fits the bill 😉
Photos of fishing boats, fishing ports, fish auctions, seafood stalls, nets and trawls, lobster pots, fishermen, your kids collecting cockles, even those New Year’s oyster shells 😏—no limits as long as it ties into the theme 😛 And of course, a special shout-out to anglers worldwide! 🙂
I’m traveling right now, so I don’t have many photos on hand. To illustrate the theme, I’ve chosen this shot of a small Vietnamese fishing boat I spotted near the Cham Islands, returning from a dive.

From ore to rockets, wire to the Eiffel Tower—or in a pinch, even a self-portrait at the bottom of a spoon—the theme is broad enough that you should be able to come up with at least three ideas pretty easily! Sure, things might get tricky when it’s time to vote, but that could just be a sign of a successful contest, right?! But we’re not there yet.
Contest rules: You can post up to three photos, each in a separate message, clearly indicating their number (1, 2, or 3) along with the location where the photo was taken. Any explanations about your photos are welcome.

To chat about waterways, this is the place.
I suggest we compete with photos of towers. No magic tricks or potter’s wheels—we’re talking about "tour" as in the feminine noun. So, a kind of tall building, round, square, or polygonal, or a high structure that could be metallic, or a flat-topped bell tower (campanile), or a high-rise building (building)...
You can find them almost everywhere in the world and from all eras.
The tower(s) must be the main subject of the photo.
Examples:
The first photo, which is Saint Mark’s Square (with the Campanile), won’t be accepted.
The second one, where the Campanile tower is the main subject, will be accepted.

So, it’s settled—the first idea (this book about the lush garden of a New York state parsonage, "this garden obsessed with the love this man had for his late wife." Reverend Cheney musically noting all the birdsongs, the water droplets in the watering can, the wind rushing through cloaks at the end of the 19th century) will be the theme.
Garden: A plot of land, usually enclosed, attached or not to a dwelling, planted with useful or ornamental vegetation.
So, private gardens, vegetable patches, herb gardens, botanical gardens, winter gardens with their lush greenhouses, the "hortus conclusus" of cloisters evoking the Garden of Eden, public gardens, and their extension into parks are all welcome. I’m sure I’ve forgotten some...
Photos can be posted until Monday, November 24 at midnight, following the usual rules: one per message, numbered from 1 to 3, with the location of the shot and, if you’d like, a few details.
Voting, where you explicitly assign 3 to 1 points to your top 3 photos, will take place from Tuesday, November 25 at 12:01 AM until Sunday, November 30 at midnight. The results will be announced on December 1.

This theme has probably been done before... but not recently, at least 😉 Doors—open, closed, of houses, castles... even if only the threshold remains. Since I’m not home, I don’t have access to my photos right now, and regarding the rules, I’ll let you refer to one of the previous contests.
Photos can be posted until Thursday the 23rd at 11:59 PM (Paris time). Voting will take place from the 24th to the 30th of October, and the results will be announced on the 31st during the day.

So, this theme isn’t exactly a "travel invitation," but coming up with a new one is quite a puzzle 😅. During February’s “white” theme discussion, we had pages of cats, so you should be inspired 😸. I won’t be restrictive—wild felines, domestic cats, and even those in zoos (though I’m not a fan) will be accepted. Plus, engravings, paintings, statues, or any other representations of felines fit the theme. The Sphinx is also welcome ;).

The theme for June is: A SERIES
"A series is a set of coherent images that share several common points while still being different from one another."
In 3 photos, posted simultaneously in the same message, I’d like you to tell me a little story with a few words. You’re allowed 2 series.
They can be narrative or thematic. For example: 3 shots representing 3 professions, 3 places of worship, 3 market stalls, 3 trains... the ideas are endless—whether in the same place or in different countries... or 3 images of the same place, photographed from 3 different angles, under 3 different lights... or 3 images where the predominant color is the same... Narrative and theme can, of course, overlap.
Practical details:
Participation Each VF member can submit up to 2 series, until Saturday, June 21 at 11:59 PM Paris time. Each series of 3 photos must be presented in a single message, with its number indicated (series 1, series 2).
Voting: Each VF member can vote for the 3 series they consider the best, based on their own criteria and the theme.
Voting will take place from Saturday, June 21 at midnight until Saturday, June 28 at 11:59 PM Paris time.
The selected series will be ranked in order of preference: - 1st series: 3 points - 2nd: 2 points - 3rd: 1 point
The winner is the author of the series with the most points.
Results will be published on June 29 during the day. In case of a tie, the number of first-place votes will decide. The winner will have the honor of organizing July 2025’s contest.
Photos that have won (1st, 2nd, or 3rd place) in another VF contest are not eligible for this one.

Narrative: In Bali, I took a cooking class. We went to the market to shop with the teacher. We cleaned and prepped the ingredients to make, among other things, a lovely salad.

Narrative and thematic: I really loved this place 30 km from Essaouira. A little souk "just as it is," as they say. The souk of Ida Ougourd.

Thematic: Green in nature. The green of tea plantations in Munnar, a bamboo forest in Les Landes, and a park in Tokyo.

Here’s the theme for the lovely month of May—no worries, it won’t be lilies of the valley! 😄
This month’s theme is: “Reflection(s)” This leaves a pretty wide scope: reflections in water, of course, but also in windows, on buildings... I’ll leave it to your imagination, but the reflection should be clearly visible.
If this theme has been used before, it doesn’t matter. It’s getting tricky to find new themes that can attract as many participants as possible.
I’m currently in northern Finland and don’t have access to my hard drives, so I’ll add a few photos when I return to France. Here’s just one I took with my smartphone yesterday late afternoon:
