Je compte faire le mêmes trajet dans 2/3semaines, et bien sur ce sera un plaisir de vous le faire partager !
Donc pour résumer : Départ embarcadère 16h
2h / 2h30 de balade : 1200bath
+ nuit a l’hôtel 600bth
Pensez vous qu'en janvier il y aura de la place ?
je serais avec mon conjoint, et nous aurons 2 bagages de 60x40cm. Pensez vous que ça nous dérangera pendant la balade? Ou peut on les laisser a un endroit sur phang nga ? (embarcadère ?)

- Transfer to the pier
- Transfer to Bus Station (Sayan Tour Office) You can take the ticket to Khao Sok from here.

Je voudrai remercier Philgbo pour ses conseils, j'ai fait cette étape lors de mon voyage en novembre dernier et je ne l'ai pas regretté !
J'ai été un peu déçue par le tour de la baie. On y était sans doute un peu trop tôt, il y avait des hordes de touristes, surtout sur james bond island (qui n'a aucun intérêt particulier à mon avis).
Par contre j'ai adoré la nuit à Panee island ! A notre arrivée (vers 16h), on a eu le temps de voir à quoi ressemble l'île pendant la journée (des restaurants immenses, une rue pleine d'étals pour touriste), mais les vendeurs commencaient à ranger et les touristes étaient partis. Et on a passé une super soirée à se balader dans toute l'île, avec son mélange de maisons bancales (beaucoup) et rutilantes (quelques unes), les habitans qui mangent dans la rue, les enfants qui courent partout, les chats qui ont la belle vie apparemment, et un superbe coucher de soleil !
Je ne connais pas le nombre de chambres pour touristes dans l'île, nous étions logés dans une chambre attenante à un des grands restaurants au bord de l'eau (en fait littéralement DANS le restaurant, c'était un peu spécial mais amusant). Nous avons croisé un seul autre groupe de blancs, qui n'était pas logé au même endroit.
Donc pour résumer une étape un peu particulière mais un super bon souvenir.

C'est pour cette raison que je conseille de faire le tour entre 15h et 17h30 ou la majorité des touristes est partie. Je vous répète que la formule tout compris n'a pas d'interet. Et comme aucun touriste ne dort sur Panee l'Hotel dispose toujours de chambres disponibles le soir...

Les prix sont kiff kiff voir mêmes plus intéressant en solo car tes frais seront divisés par 2 si t'y va en couple ( contrairement aux agences ).
Je pense faire celons le filing une fois sur place, mais je sais que je pourrais passer par une agence au cas ou ;)
Ne connaissant pas le coin, j'ai juste peur de louper quelques choses dans la baie ? Mais je pense que le chauffeur doit connaitre les bons coins a voir ?

Pour la visite de la baie de Phang nga, nous sommes arrivés le soir au Phang nga in. Nous avons réservé directement la sortie avec la guesthouse.
Pour partir une heure avant, 7h30 lieu de 8h30 nous avons payé 500 baths supplémentaire. Ils ne doivent pas aimer se lever tôt🙂

Nous sommes arrivés les premiers au fameux rocher de James Bond. Nous y sommes restés 25 mn tout seul, les stands étaient encore bachés, il n'y avait que le ranger sur place. J'ai pu me baigner avec ma fille et faire de belles photos.
A l'arrivée des 1er speed boat, nous sommes partis pour Panee island, et là, idem. Aucun touriste à la ronde. Nous nous sommes perdus dans les petites "ruelles" et avons évité l'allée principale regorgeant de stands à babioles.
une belle balade à faire....

2-tu dis que vous vous etes baigné sur l'ile de J bond. mais j'ai vu dans un post précédent qu'on ne pouvait pas s'y arreter? tu avais pris masque et tuba?
3-comment était l hotel? il y a d'assez mauvaises critiques sur certains sites...

Se baigner sur James Bond Island est toujours possible (arret = 200 bahts/personne) mais a partir de 9h le matin c'est blindé de touristes et la cohue. De la a prevoir les masques et tuba.... 🤪
PS On parle de James Bond island pour l'ile qui est proche du Rocher James Bond (pièce jointe)...

Philgbo a raison, nous avons payé 1500 baths pour la sortie et 500 bths pour partir une heure avant, soit 2000 bths (2adultes + ma fille de 5ans) et franchement, nous n'avons pas regretté ce supplément (voir les photos jointes)
Par contre nous n'avons rien payé une fois sur place.
Pas besoin de prendre masque tuba car l'eau est quand même assez trouble.
Mais c'est un vrai bonheur de pouvoir se baigner tout seul 🙂
Une fois les 1er bateaux arrivés, nous sommes allés sur le village des gitans, et là aussi, pas un touriste à la ronde (à part nous)

Pour le phang nga inn, la chambre était correcte, propre, pas de bestioles en vue. 1500 baths / nuit. 3 grands lits et ptit déj inclus.
Ce n'est pas un 5* mais pour une nuit, rien à dire
La réceptionniste agréable et d'une gentillesse..... Tu peux louer un scooter depuis l’hôtel (200 bths/j).
On a visiter les caves ou plutôt grottes, fais un petit tour hors agglomération, le paysage est superbe !🤪
Si tu as d'autres questions, n'hésite pas, les membres de "Voyage Forum" m'ont bien aidé à préparer mon voyage, ca fait plaisir de pouvoir rendre service😉

désolée je déteste l'informatique et il me le rend bien... donc ma question était:
tour dans la baie de Phang Nga avec une agence locale ou seul à l'"aventure" sachant que nous avons deux enfants (7 et 12)??? et du coup stress de rester sans logement sur Ko Panyi.
mais je viens de lire la discussion où tu mensionnes que tout est dit en donnant un lien vers Bamboul, et voilà, je viens de décider de tenter l'aventure,
de l'aéroport de pHuket direct Phang Nga et le lendemain matin nous prendrons un longtail boat jusqu'au village de Panyi où j'espère nous trouverons une chambre pour 4 pour une nuit puis faire la visite de la baie (mangrove, grottes etc) entre 14 et 17 suivant tes conseils et repartir le lendemain matin.... je vais essayer de négocier avec la guesthouse où nous resterons à Phan Nga, sinon, ferai comme toi direct à l'embarcadère.
Koh Lanta est une île tranquille et familiale alors si vous voulez un petit peu d'animation, quelques restos autres que celui du l'hotel et quelques commerces a proximité il faut rester sur les plages du nord (Klong Dao, Long Beach). Si vous recherchez plus la plage déserte et la tranquillité a tout prix, les resorts des plages du sud de l'île vous conviendront mieux. L'aternative entre les 2 est la plage de Klong Nin au milieu de l'île (toutes ces plages sont sur la côte ouest ou se trouve les plus belles plages) 😉

Mais en arrivant à l'embarcadère, je pense qu'il y aura toujours quelqu'un pour te vendre un tour dans la baie et la nuit sur l'ile !
Pour info, on a accepté de tout payer tout de suite et on n'a pas eu de souci. Petite inquiétude le lendemain matin quand on a pas vu arriver le bateau à l'heure convenue, mais les gens de l'hôtel nous ont orienté vers la navette régulière, et à l'arrivée le mec était là pour la payer...
D'ailleurs sur tout le voyage, on a pu faire confiance aux Thailandais, après négociation le prix et le service n'ont jamais été remis en cause.
si tu n'as pas essayé les massages traditionnels au Vieil Hopital de Chaing mai, école de massage, il serait bien de le faire un jour. Professionnel, exceptionnel, et le mot est faible.
Je recommande le massage traditionnel 2h.
Oui, sur Ko Lanta, Ko phi phi? Ko tao? Ko Pha Ngan?
A Koh Tao et Koh Phi Phi je déconseille même s'il peut exister de bonnes adresses, c'est trop touristique et beaucoup de chiqués, de trucs bidons pour les touristes 😕 A Koh Phangan j'ai pas cherché mais a Lanta il y a de bonnes adresses même sur les plages, par exemple sur Klong Dao a coté du Easy Bar, de vrais pro, jamais été décu depuis 5 ans 😉

Pour l'hotel sur Panee : pas d'inquietudes majeure car les clients sont assez rares : il suffit de s'y arreter avant de faire le tour de la baie pour reserver 1 chambre : les autres sont occupées par les employés qui deménagent si nécessaire... 😉

merci, je viens de regarder, pas mal, mais c'est plutot des bungalows "robinsonesques" qu'on recherche...
même si je sais que en quelques deux trois semaines nous n'allons pas découvrir un île déserte....
On aimr bien les voyages "roots" et authentiques, on n'est pas trop habitués aux plages mais plutôt aux trekkings reculés, là , on a choisit les île pour , partir avec les enfants parce que difficile les randos de 7h avec des minots et je suis fortement étonnée de ce que je découvre en organisant le voyage, rien que l'idée de réserver tant à l'avance me gêne unpeu, mais on ne va pas se plaindre, on part en voyage... c'est quand même merveilleux...
Donc merci encore de ton aide et de tous tes précieux conseils, et si tu as des idées de bungalows, merci encore plus.
idem pour des plages sympas avec des enfants à Ko tao et Ko Pha Ngan, c'est bizarre, le sud; c'est vraiment un autre Thailande que celle que j'ai pu voir par le passé. J'ai tellement aimé que je me suis mise à apprendre le Thaï...
enfin bon, je ne décourage pas de m'arrêter dans un village authentique en route.

Dans le genre plus roots il y a bien le Bee Bee village bungalows souvent cité comme très sympa mais la plage est pas terrible même si très tranquille car beaucoup de rochers a marée basse qui rendent la baignade quasi impossible surtout avec des enfants 😕 Je vais voir si je retrouve quelque chose dans le même genre sur une plage plus sympa 😉

Oui c'est possible mais en réservant depuis Chiang Maï dans une agence de voyage pas de soucis afin de pas perdre de temps une fois arriver à Phuket faut pas rêver ( excuse du peu bien sur ) , ou sur place à Phuket dès que tu arrives proche de ton hôtel c'est pas ce qui manque des agences , dont je pense que c'est mieux de faire sur place à Phuket car ce n'est plus la haute saison donc cool tu seras presque roi .

Pareil , réserve ou que tu sois et le transfert fera le reste un mini-bus viendra te chercher à ton hôtel , donc conclusion dès que tu arrives sur Phuket fonce dans n'importe quelle agence de voyage et réserve le tout et bien donner l'adresse de ton hôtel ou guest house et tout est OK .

Tu parles d agence de voyage a CM mais je comptais justement faire la ballade comme l avait suggère philgbo c.-à-d. Prendre un long tail perso puis ensuite dormir le sort sur le village flottant.

Si bien sur aucun problème , tu demandes et c'est bon comme à la carte d'un resto . Bien expliquer ce que tu veux et tu auras satisfaction ils sont très habitués en ce domaine et avec le sourire te casses pas la tête tu verras sur place toi même . Bon voyage . 😉

I’ve found so many tips and reviews on this forum, so it’s my turn to contribute a little.
We spent just over two weeks with our family, with the following itinerary:
- Hanoi: 5 days
- Halong Bay: 3 days and 2 nights
- Tam Coc: 3 days
- Mai Chau: 2 days
- Sapa: 3 days
We got around by bike, scooter, Grab, and bus.
Our main accommodations were homestays and hotels in Hanoi.
We visited lots of museums, temples, and neighborhoods in Hanoi.
We did a 2-day, 1-night trek in Sapa with May, a Hmong local, without going through an agency.
A few small regrets: the weather was overcast, and we couldn’t make it to Fansipan, but nothing major 😅. We also couldn’t find transport to get from Sapa to Mu Cang Chai.
Other than that, this trip will stay in our memories for the kindness of the Vietnamese people, the connections we made, the food (street food, homestays...), the coffee 😋, the landscapes, and how easy it was to get around...
Our goal was to take our time and focus only on a small part of northern Vietnam.

I’m currently working on a 30-day itinerary for May/June 2027.
10 days in eastern Java (Malang, Bromo, waterfalls, Meru Beriti Park, Banyuwangi, and Ijen), a short transit in Ubud for a few days, then Flores before heading back to Jakarta.
We’ll spend 15 days in Flores (the classic route: Moni, Bajawa, Riung, Ruteng, ending in Labuan Bajo).
I’d love some firsthand feedback on flights to Maumere or Ende from Bali Denpasar. I know there are no direct routes and that you have to connect through Labuan Bajo or Timor (I think), which isn’t an issue in itself.
But I’ve read here and there that flights to these destinations can be delayed—or worse, canceled—and that it’s better to fly in and out of Labuan Bajo, which isn’t exactly ideal...

I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!
For those wondering why cities like Jakarta and Surabaya: we don’t often get the chance to visit big Asian cities, so we wanted to include that discovery in our trip. The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).

I didn’t plan to return to Thailand this year, but my health conditions mean it’ll be the best place for me to stay between two trips to India. The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.
- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).
- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before:

I’m struggling to wrap up the end of my itinerary, even though it’s pretty straightforward (long but simple).
Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).
Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees.
Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands.
Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way).
Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan.
Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide).
Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island.
Day 10 – Head to Semporna.
Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai.
Day 15 – Bohey Dulang.
Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.
I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous.
I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing.
I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture.
But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary.
If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.
For a 4-month stay in Egypt, I had ENORMOUS problems. The regulations are very bureaucratic and extremely nitpicky there. For a 4-month stay in the Philippines, I was wondering if the procedures are just as complicated? I’m bringing my cell phone with an eSIM. Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

We like to decide things on the spot and go with the flow, without rushing everywhere. But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before.
