Tout d'abord je remerçie tous les participants à ce concours. En lançant ce thème sur l'eau j'avais soif de belles images et par vos contributions j'oserai dire que vous m'avez bien "désaltéré"😉.
Puisque le dépôt des photos est bientôt terminé alors voici quelques infos sur le déroulement du vote :
Votes ouverts à tous du lundi 19 au dimanche 25 mars au soir sur ce fil de discussion.
Tout le monde peut voter en précisant sans ambiguité le pseudo du déposant suivi du numéro de photo avec si possible un petit commentaire pour expliquer son choix.
Photo n°1 = 3 pts Photo n°2 = 2 pts Photo n°3 = 1 pt
Un seul vote par forumeur (donc pas de vote par procuration).
La photo gagnante est celle qui obtiendra le plus de points. L'heureux vainqueur aura la tâche d'organiser le concours du mois d'Avril. En cas d'égalité le vainqueur sera celui qui aura obtenu le plus grand nombre de premières places.

De jolies couleurs que je n'ai pas retrouvée dans d'autres photographies. J'ai beaucoup aimé!

L'expression (ou plutôt son absence) de l'homme, la pluie qui sert de rajout, tout est fait pour créer un sentiment de solitude sur cette photo. J'ai beaucoup aimé!
Photo n°1 = mamina64 - 3
Cette photo est ma favorite. Je la trouve sublime tout simplement. Tout est si bien conçu! Presque, pour moi, la photo idéale.
J'ai beaucoup aimé également: adrissica - 1, ahaswerus - 2, akevin2403 - 1, attila - 1, christiang - 1, herikles - 2, magellan18 - 2, masterpo - 3, ming2 - 1 (presque numéro 3, j'ai très longtemps hésité) et d'autres que j'ai oublié de citer.

Une fois venu le difficile moment du vote, j'ai éliminé les photos représentant l'eau sous de grandes étendues inertes, lacs, rivières ou fleuves, trop proches de la photo de paysage que je n'affectionne pas particulièrement (et pourtant, j'ai beaucoup apprécié cyrilleg-1, jujuluberon-2, katelolo-3, marilu91-1 et narotcho-1).
Mais j'ai préféré privilégier le mouvement ou la vie de cette même eau.

J'ai privilégié dans mon choix les photos où le mouvement de l'eau est bien visible, et ai donc éliminé tous les paysages où elle n'est qu'un élément du décor. Après, dans les dix dernières nominées, le choix a été bien difficile ... Il a quand même fallu choisir :
Photo n° 1 Narotcho 1 superbe équilibre de cette photo en contre jour, avec ses personnages décalés en hauteur, provocant des petites vaguelettes image douce et apaisante ... tout ce que j'aime ....
Photo n° 2 Jemaflor 2 joli velouté de ces vagues de mascaret, et le personnage ajoute un plus.
Photo n° 3 Masterpo 3 Très belle composition de cette photo ...
J'ai aimé aussi Clavdia 2, jcl56 1, jujuluberon 3, magellan18 2, mamina64 2 et 3

No2, 2 points: jujuluberon No 2. sublimation des couleurs et très belle composition.

J'ai longuement hésité avant de soustraire de ma sélection la photo de Jemaflor -2 ; ce concours sur le thème de l'eau était bien , mais pas facile à juger , il y avait pléthore de très jolis clichés.

J'ai eu beaucoup de mal à établir un top ten ...de 11 clichés (!) et encore plus un podium ...de 4 places (!)
En vrac mes préférences m'ont porté vers:
Magellan-1 : pour Plitvice, que j'ai découvert juste avant l'éclatement de la Yougoslavie. Lacalo-1 : pour ce lieu magique de Marrakech. JCL56-1 : pour sa fontaine cristaline, hélas tronquée. Ragamuffin-2 : pour le rigolo saut de "l'homme grenouille". Jemaflor-2 : pour son mascaret ondoyant. Je respecte le parti-pris du cadrage serré, mais il il évite certainement une agréable perspective sinueuse. Narotcho-3 et, surtout, Pierre 123-3 magnifique, dont je regrette le choix du sens dessus dessous, qui n'apporte rien à deux clichés de qualité. Marilu91-1 : pour son bain en "apesanteur" et l'eau dans tous ses états, liquide, gazeux et solide. Tifignah-2 : pour la lumière magique du couchant, qui n'a d'égale que celle de l'aube. Jujulubéron-3 : pour sa lumière et sa composition. MasterPo-3 : pour sa composition et l'association de la tête de fontaine épurée et son camaïeu de gris, associés aux iridescences de l'eau.
Au final, mon classement est le suivant:
3 points pour Marilu91 n°1. 2 points pour Jujulubéron n°3. 1 point pour Tifignah n°2 et MasterPo n°3.

-N°1: Lacalo, photo 2. (3 pts) Peut-être pas la plus représentative de ce thème, mais j'adore ! 🙂 Beaucoup de douceur dans cette scène, dans les couleurs pastels. Il fallait être là au bon moment pour avoir l'âne et le chat...
- N°2: Masterpo, photo 2. (2 pts) Superbe. Complètement dans le thème "Zen", en vogue depuis quelques années....
- N°3: Narotcho 1. (1 pt) J'hésite toujours pour cette 3ème place, mais je ne peux pas laisser passer cette photo...

Sujet très ouvert (trop ouvert ?) qui a donné lieu à un éventail très diversifié d'interprétations de l'eau ! (vaste sujet !🙂)
Mes critères de choix comme à l'habitude : Le regard du photographe et le "soin" et l'imagination apportés à la construction de l'image Ensuite, et pour répondre au sujet "eau source de vie" j'ai privilégié l'eau dynamique (fontaines, cascades et sources) à l'eau statique (lacs, mares ou fleuves) en recherchant la présence d'êtres vivants dans l'image...
Six ou sept photos qui m'ont accroché le regard et, après une rapide sélection, un podium assez évident pour moi (par rapport à ces critères "restrictifs")
1 / L'Indienne de Nilsou-1 (détail amusant : le reflet rose du sari dans le flot de l'eau 🙂) 2 / La petite fille à la fontaine de Michau26-1 (cadrage très serré, mais photo très dynamique) 3 / Le fleuve indien de Jujuluberon-2 (très statique, cette fois, ce qui explique la troisième place au lieu de la première car moins bien positionnée sur le thème) mais c'était une photo quasi bichromatique (gris/rouge) très originale que j'avais déjà relevée sur la galerie flickr de Juju !

Une fois de plus, je ne saurais dire pourquoi. Comme pour Kate, 😉 c'est au premier coup d'œil, ou à l'émotion (ce doit être mon côté yin 😏). Je reviens à l'occasion sur la galerie flickr de Jujuluberon, qui ne me laisse pas indifférent. La galerie, bien sûr. 😄 Du top.

ragamuffin - 2 vasyvite - 1 mais j'ai encore plus aimé: ahaswerus - 2 - 3 pts => mon coup de cœur dès le début. très belles couleurs - sérénité dans cette photo. on dirait presque une aquarelle.
jemaflor - 2 => cadrage, couleur, composition.. superbe ming2 - 2 - 1 pts => pour la joie de vivre de cette photo autour de l'eau source de vie !!

oui , c est exactement mon classement mais j ai un acces tres difficile a internet et j ai envoye mon message a la derniere seconde, et n ai pas eu le temps de commenter ..
beaucoup d autres photos me plaisent mais ces trois la particulierement trois sensibilites differentes et tres dans le sujet l eau dans tous ses etats salutations a tous pardon pour les fautes de frappe et je verrai les resultats a mon retour ...

Vasco da Gama Bridge in Lisbon
Here’s the definition of a bridge: “A structure, typically made of stone, wood, or metal, that spans a depression or obstacle (such as a transportation route or waterway) by connecting the two sides or crossing over the obstacle.”
Viaducts, aqueducts, and footbridges will all be accepted.
Millau Viaduct
To allow for as many original photos as possible, the bridge can be photographed from the side, below, or above—the main thing is that it’s the focal point of the image.

Pont du Gard from below
Details are also welcome, as long as you can still recognize it’s a bridge 😊

Practical details:
Participation: Each VF member can submit up to 3 photos, until Sunday, 26/07 at 11:59 PM Paris time. Each photo must be posted in a separate message, with its number (1, 2, or 3). Don’t forget to add a little explanation (comment, location, etc.).
Voting: Each VF member can vote for the 3 photos they consider the best, based on their own criteria and the theme.

Since it’s April Fools’ month and I’m a diver at heart, I had to pick a theme around the sea and fish.
This month’s theme is: sea fishing 🙂. Deep-sea fishing, rockpooling, shore casting, shellfish & crustaceans—anything remotely related to sea fishing fits the bill 😉
Photos of fishing boats, fishing ports, fish auctions, seafood stalls, nets and trawls, lobster pots, fishermen, your kids collecting cockles, even those New Year’s oyster shells 😏—no limits as long as it ties into the theme 😛 And of course, a special shout-out to anglers worldwide! 🙂
I’m traveling right now, so I don’t have many photos on hand. To illustrate the theme, I’ve chosen this shot of a small Vietnamese fishing boat I spotted near the Cham Islands, returning from a dive.

From ore to rockets, wire to the Eiffel Tower—or in a pinch, even a self-portrait at the bottom of a spoon—the theme is broad enough that you should be able to come up with at least three ideas pretty easily! Sure, things might get tricky when it’s time to vote, but that could just be a sign of a successful contest, right?! But we’re not there yet.
Contest rules: You can post up to three photos, each in a separate message, clearly indicating their number (1, 2, or 3) along with the location where the photo was taken. Any explanations about your photos are welcome.

To chat about waterways, this is the place.
I suggest we compete with photos of towers. No magic tricks or potter’s wheels—we’re talking about "tour" as in the feminine noun. So, a kind of tall building, round, square, or polygonal, or a high structure that could be metallic, or a flat-topped bell tower (campanile), or a high-rise building (building)...
You can find them almost everywhere in the world and from all eras.
The tower(s) must be the main subject of the photo.
Examples:
The first photo, which is Saint Mark’s Square (with the Campanile), won’t be accepted.
The second one, where the Campanile tower is the main subject, will be accepted.

So, it’s settled—the first idea (this book about the lush garden of a New York state parsonage, "this garden obsessed with the love this man had for his late wife." Reverend Cheney musically noting all the birdsongs, the water droplets in the watering can, the wind rushing through cloaks at the end of the 19th century) will be the theme.
Garden: A plot of land, usually enclosed, attached or not to a dwelling, planted with useful or ornamental vegetation.
So, private gardens, vegetable patches, herb gardens, botanical gardens, winter gardens with their lush greenhouses, the "hortus conclusus" of cloisters evoking the Garden of Eden, public gardens, and their extension into parks are all welcome. I’m sure I’ve forgotten some...
Photos can be posted until Monday, November 24 at midnight, following the usual rules: one per message, numbered from 1 to 3, with the location of the shot and, if you’d like, a few details.
Voting, where you explicitly assign 3 to 1 points to your top 3 photos, will take place from Tuesday, November 25 at 12:01 AM until Sunday, November 30 at midnight. The results will be announced on December 1.

This theme has probably been done before... but not recently, at least 😉 Doors—open, closed, of houses, castles... even if only the threshold remains. Since I’m not home, I don’t have access to my photos right now, and regarding the rules, I’ll let you refer to one of the previous contests.
Photos can be posted until Thursday the 23rd at 11:59 PM (Paris time). Voting will take place from the 24th to the 30th of October, and the results will be announced on the 31st during the day.

So, this theme isn’t exactly a "travel invitation," but coming up with a new one is quite a puzzle 😅. During February’s “white” theme discussion, we had pages of cats, so you should be inspired 😸. I won’t be restrictive—wild felines, domestic cats, and even those in zoos (though I’m not a fan) will be accepted. Plus, engravings, paintings, statues, or any other representations of felines fit the theme. The Sphinx is also welcome ;).

The theme for June is: A SERIES
"A series is a set of coherent images that share several common points while still being different from one another."
In 3 photos, posted simultaneously in the same message, I’d like you to tell me a little story with a few words. You’re allowed 2 series.
They can be narrative or thematic. For example: 3 shots representing 3 professions, 3 places of worship, 3 market stalls, 3 trains... the ideas are endless—whether in the same place or in different countries... or 3 images of the same place, photographed from 3 different angles, under 3 different lights... or 3 images where the predominant color is the same... Narrative and theme can, of course, overlap.
Practical details:
Participation Each VF member can submit up to 2 series, until Saturday, June 21 at 11:59 PM Paris time. Each series of 3 photos must be presented in a single message, with its number indicated (series 1, series 2).
Voting: Each VF member can vote for the 3 series they consider the best, based on their own criteria and the theme.
Voting will take place from Saturday, June 21 at midnight until Saturday, June 28 at 11:59 PM Paris time.
The selected series will be ranked in order of preference: - 1st series: 3 points - 2nd: 2 points - 3rd: 1 point
The winner is the author of the series with the most points.
Results will be published on June 29 during the day. In case of a tie, the number of first-place votes will decide. The winner will have the honor of organizing July 2025’s contest.
Photos that have won (1st, 2nd, or 3rd place) in another VF contest are not eligible for this one.

Narrative: In Bali, I took a cooking class. We went to the market to shop with the teacher. We cleaned and prepped the ingredients to make, among other things, a lovely salad.

Narrative and thematic: I really loved this place 30 km from Essaouira. A little souk "just as it is," as they say. The souk of Ida Ougourd.

Thematic: Green in nature. The green of tea plantations in Munnar, a bamboo forest in Les Landes, and a park in Tokyo.

Here’s the theme for the lovely month of May—no worries, it won’t be lilies of the valley! 😄
This month’s theme is: “Reflection(s)” This leaves a pretty wide scope: reflections in water, of course, but also in windows, on buildings... I’ll leave it to your imagination, but the reflection should be clearly visible.
If this theme has been used before, it doesn’t matter. It’s getting tricky to find new themes that can attract as many participants as possible.
I’m currently in northern Finland and don’t have access to my hard drives, so I’ll add a few photos when I return to France. Here’s just one I took with my smartphone yesterday late afternoon:
