Nous avons une reservation chez Hertz a LAX, nous atterissons au terminal B (TBIT je crois), j'ai cru comprendre qu'il y avait un bus pour aller jusqu'au comptoir Hertz, on a créé un compte gold, ou doit on se rendre une fois dans le terminal de l'aeroport?
j'ai cherché un plan mais je ne trouve pas.
Doit on preciser le compte gold?

Comme dans beaucoup d'aeroprts US, il y a une navette qui emmene les vclients des loueurs au centre de location.
Donc vous sortez du terminal, et sur la rocade, vous reperez le panneau rental cars shuttle
Là vs guettez le bus HERTZ jaune.
Vs lui faites un signe et voous montez;
arrivez au centre HERTZ, vous descendez au premier arret, GOLD MEMBER.
C'est la premiee fois que vs louez sous statut GOLD. Si oui il faut pâsser au comptoir;
Si non, votre vehicule vs sera signalé par mail, ou indiqué sur le tableau à l'entrée du Gold center.
Vs montez dedans, et vs presentez votre permis à la guerite de sortie.

Tous les membres gold ne devraient-ils pas avoir eu ce mail de Hertz ? Je ne l'ai pas vu passer dans ma boîte... ou alors je n'ai pas fait attention.

Je ne connais pas exactement les condition s d application et je n ai pas eu le temps de faire des simuls de resa pour voir si les conditions generales HERTZ USA ont ete modifiées en conséquence
A priori ca devrait buen entendu concerner les resas en pre paid car les resas en paiement sur place sont par définition deja annulables et modifiables sans frais
Lier une réservation Hertz effectué en tant que CLIENT NON GOLD à un compte GOLD
Partons du principe que vous avez fait une réservation (en paiement comptoir dans mon exemple) à partir d'un site européen. Vous avez eu un bon tarif en tant qu'invité et voulez relier cette réservation à votre compte Gold sans avoir à subir l'attente de la centrale d'appel.
1. Vous réservez en tant que Client NON Gold, jusque ici tout va bien.
2. Voyage d'agrément en principe
3. Vous avez choisi vos dates, votre véhicule, avez vérifiez les conditions de location et que bien entendu toutes les assurances sont incluses ! Saisissez vos informations et validez votre réservation.
4. Vous recevez par mail un numéro de confirmation de réservation.
5. On retourne sur le site Hertz et on choisit de modifier la réservation
6. Le système nous renvoi sur le formulaire de modification. Vérifiez bien que toutes les informations affichées soient toujours bonnes.
7. Cette fois ci, validez en choisissant MEMBRE GOLD. Saisissez vos identifiants et mot de passe, re-choisissez votre véhicule, re-checkez toutes les données, les assurances et le prix puis valider.
8. Validez la réservation.
9. Vous recevez un nouveau numéro de réservation lié à votre compte Gold
10. Déconnectez-vous du site Hertz
11. Retournez à la page de modification de réservation et saisissez le premier numéro de résa. (celui avant les modifications)
12. Validez et vérifiez qu'un message indique que la réservation a été annulée.
13. Reconnectez vous à votre compte Gold et vérifiez la présence de la réservation liée à votre compte.
J'ai essayé de suivre cette procédure, pour lier ma résa à mon nouveau compte Hertz Gold, comme recommandé précédemment, mais j'ai un problème à l'étape 6 : le site ne me propose pas de valider en tant que client Gold. Il me propose juste de valider.
Ça peut arriver et rien à faire. Si c'est votre première résa chez Hertz de toute façon faudra passer au comptoir présenter permis et CB. Mais comme c'est le comptoir gold, ça ira plus vite.
Effectivement c'est une 1ere réservation.
Je dois donc me présenter au comptoir Gold même si ma résa n'est pas associée à un compte Gold?
La personne va-t-elle lier cette résa? Dois-je lui donner mes autres num de résa pour les lier ou dois-je le faire moi même quand la carte sera validée?
En fait, J'ai 3 réservations sur 3 semaines.
Je vais donc finaliser ma demande de Gold et prendre ma première loc. Ensuite j'aurai 2 autres loc/résa à venir.
Comme je suis le seul client HERTZ a avoir reçu ce mail, j'ai fait une simul de resa sous mon profil pour Chicago O'hare...(C'est mon lieu de loc favori...J'ai pas regardé ailleurs)
En allant dans les "termes et conditions" de location, dans la rubrique modifs, annulations etc, j'ai trouvé ca :
ANNULATIONS
1- Hertz vous permet d’annuler une réservation en prépaiement:
a. En ligne dans la rubrique ‘‘Modifier / Annuler une réservation’‘
b. En appelant l’Assistance Internet
2- Hertz effectuera un remboursement intégral de votre réservation en prépaiement :
- Pour les réservations Hertz (pour celles effectuées avant le 30 Avril 2018 à minuit, pour une prise en charge à tout moment) :
a. Si l’annulation de la réservation a lieu dans les 7 jours après que celle-ci ait été effectuée ;
b. Moyennant des frais administratifs (voir ci-dessous) si l’annulation de la réservation a lieu 7 jours après que celle-ci ait été effectuée ;
- Pour les réservations Hertz (pour celles effectuées après le 30 Avril 2018 à minuit, pour une prise en charge à tout moment) :
a. Si l’annulation de la réservation a lieu deux jours avant le début de votre location à minuit au plus tard ;
b. Moyennant des frais administratifs (voir ci-dessous) si l’annulation a lieu après cette période.
Donc, ca a changé au 1°mai 2018, le delai passant de 7 jours apres la resa à 2 jours avant la prise du vehicule.
Je viens de faire des simuls en tant que client Lambda, sans rentrer mon profil GOLD, et ca marche aussi : annulation possible jusqu'à 2 jours avant la prise du vehicule.
Autrement c'est pas le pc 192021 qui donne acces à un paiement sur place, mais le CDP 510000.
Le coupon 192021 decouvert par ARNAUD (merci à toi) donne 1 jour gratuit.
On peut eventuellement avoir un paiement en pré-paid avec le code tarif WOW... Mais ca coute un peu cher.

Je disais cà car apparement, j'etais le seul des intervenants sur ce post à avoir reçu ce mail...
Comme je suis Five stars, j'en ai conclu que c'etait peut etre que je suis effectivement 5 stars, car un des avantages (?) de ce statut permet d'avoir des offres exclusives (!!!!!).
Je n'en tire aucune gloire particuliere d'etre 5 machins..
Pour le reste, le principal avantage de ce statut est d'avoir un surclassement gratuit : Ca peut etre sympa, quoique je prefere reserver directement le modele que je veux, sans jouer au jeu de je reserve cà pour avoir aprés quelque chose de mieux.
Autre chose : il y a aussi l'histoire des point de fidelité...
jusqu'à present je ne m'en etais pas soucié, mais cette année en decembre, j'ai regardé et ca m'a permis de beneficier de 3 jours de location gratuits.
On est nombreux à avoir bien profité des codes Hertz CDP 510000 associés à PC 192021.

En ce qui nous concerne il a bien fonctionné sur 36 jours de loc.

L'année dernière, le code n'avait pas fonctionné sur quelques semaines ou mois et il avait refonctionné à nouveau. Il faudra pas hésiter à réessayer plus tard.

Moi aussi je viens de faire une simulation pour l'année prochaine pour 2 mois en mai Juin et les tarifs sont très cher pour le moment, 33€ pour un SUV. Le code 192021 a été pris en compte pour moi . Cette année je suis passé par le site Anglais www.hertz.co.uk et j'ai eu un SUV a 21€ par jour en juin. Pour l'année prochaine je pense qu'il faut encore attendre un peu .
Pour les billets d'avion il faut attendre le 15 Aout , cela fait 4 ans qui il y a de super promos à cette date. Actuellement les billets pour mai , juin 2019 sont à 320€ pour un AR Paris LAX sans bagage , 397€ avec Bagages avec Luf en A380 et Air Canada au retour. Maintenant presque toutes les compagnies fond payer les bagages , Air France 130€.
Cette année avec mon billet erreur Far a 239€ AR Paris LAX, bagage 23 kg inclus avec Air Canada escale 1 h 40 à Toronto, pas de bagage a récupérer, Super . Je n'ai jamais été aussi vite pour l'enregistrement et les formalités , et récupérer ma valise. Avion confortable, 3 sièges pour moi tous seul , prise électrique pour ordi portable . Au retour Austrian Airlines , sièges , moins confortables et moins de place que sur Air Canada, 50 min d'escales a Vienne . J'ai mis 20 min de la sortie de l'avion avec le contrôle pour arriver a la porte d'embarquement pour Paris .Personnel sympa .

Toutefois un bémol, au moment de la prise du vehicule, la personne au guichet nous annonce qu'il n'y a pas de Subrurban disponible, nous en avions reservé 2 !!
elle est son "chef " ont cherché a nous refourguer 2 vans.
Nous avons insisté en leur disant que nous voulions un 7 places et 4 WD.
nous avons perdu pres d'une heure (au guichet Gold)
nous avons fini par obtenir 2 Yukon mais non XL.
ces SUV sont parfaits, quasi neufs, et finalement nous suffisent amplement.
Mais je soupçonne fortement que cette non disponibilité soit liée au fait que le prix était faible ( nous avions reservé pour 1650 $ pour 4 semaine alors que le tarif habituellement trouvé était de 2500 a 4500)
Comme par hasard une fois sur le depart, 2 Suburban apparaissent et passent sur le parking.
On reserve une categorie mais sans etre sur de l'obtenir.
Nous avons demandé une reduction, je pense qu'elle nous l'aurait donnée sans que nous le fassions, donc -300$
soit un Yukon a 1350$ pour 4 semaines, par cher bien sur, mais un sentiment mitigé.

Je recherche une location d'un SUV à Los Angeles du 1er mai au 30 juin 2019 .Si vous avez des bons plans je suis preneur.
Les autres années je louai chez Alamo , l'avantage on peut choisir soit même la voiture sur le parking. Mais maintenant leurs tarifs sont beaucoup trop chers. Chez Hertz il n'est pas possible de choisir .J'avais réservé un Jeep Cherokee 4x4 et j'ai eu un Subaru Outback AWD, bon la voiture était neuve, la radio XM , pour moi l'important , comme je dors dans la voiture c'est que le coffre soit à plat et les sièges avant inclinables à fond. Le seul inconvénient , la hauteur de la chassie ,26 cm , trop juste pour faire White Poket, et comme j'ai acheté un Velo avec porte-vélo , j'ai eu des problèmes avec le haillon électrique que j'ai été obligé de démonter , conso 10L /100. Le Subaru Forester est mieux. Personnellement je n'aime pas les gros SUV . J'ai déjà loué un Chevrolet Tahoé que je n'ai pas trouvée confortable et pas pratique , coffre trop haut et conso 18L/100. Le GMC Yucon ou Acadia est mieux et la conso pour l'Acadia 10L/100 et super-confortable et pratique. Coffre a plat et siège avant inclinable. Sur les Fords Escapes les sièges avant ne s'abaissent pas à fond. et le coffre n'est pas à plat.
Subaru Outback AWD Hertz 21€ jour juin 2018 4500 km Conso 10L/100 coffre a plat , manque de reprise et chassi trop bas pour White Poket
GMC Acadia 7pl 208€ pour 22 jours par SIXT LAX en Oct 2015 6000 km conso 10L/100 très spacieux et super confortable coffre a plat , conduite très agréable

Et toujours le bon plan Cadillac Escalade à 890$ sur le .IE contre 2780$ sur les autres sites 🤪

En fait, d'apres mon ancienne experience, je ne crois pas que le tarif ait une influence sur le fait que vous ayez un vehicule determiné ou non.
Le probleme arrive quand comme vous, le vehicule demandé ne peut pas etre remplacé par un vehicule d'une categorie superieure.
N'oubliez pas qu'il peut y avoir un tas de facteurs qui peuvent influer sur la dispo d'un vehicule : vehicule accidenté, rendu en mauvais etat, en panne, vehicule rentré avec retard, ou dans une autre agence.
L'agent de comptoir va alors jongler pour trouver une autre solution.
Dans votre cas, comme vous prenez ce vehicule pendant pas mal de temps, il va privilegier des clients prenant le vehicule pour des durées plus courtes.
Les autres Suburban que vous avez vu vont plutot servir à celà.
J'ajouterais que HERTZ LAX n'est pas reputé pour la qualité du service, surtout GOLD . AVIS LAX semble même encore pire.
La même chose m'est arrivé a CHICAGO : J'avais reservé un vehicule de la gamme Adrenaline, une Dodge challenger, et au moment de prendre le vehicule, l' hotesse de comptoir m'a dit qu'aucun des vehicules prevu n'etait rentré... En equivalent, une Camaro SS etait rentrée accidentée. Aucune Mustang Dispo.
Bref aucun vehicule equivalent.
Elle m'a donc demandé de choisir ce que je voulais sur le parc Prestige...Jaguar, Mercedes.. etc sans aucun etat d'ame alors que j'avais eu un super bon prix en reservant sur le site HERTZ.Italie.
L'hotesse a veillé a me donner un vehicule superieur, sans tenir compte du tarif de base. Elle s'en moque.
La carte Revolut permet d’economiser les frais bancaires sur les paiements carte. Il est possible de retirer aussi 200$ sans frais au distributeur. Il y aura toujours les frais d’ATM, pas moyen de les éviter.

Lors d’une réservation d’hotel A payer sur place, est-il nécessaire d’indiquer la carte revolut ou peut-on l’a présenter seulement au moment du paiement à l’hotel et indiquer une autre visa ? Dans l’affirmative, faut-il que le Compte revolut soit crédité de la somme en question (malgré le non paiement immédiat) ?

Si à payer sur place on peut faire la résa avec sa carte EUR. Puis à l'arrivée donner la carte EUR pour le deposit et donner la carte Revolut pour le paiement. JAMAIS donner la Revolut pour la caution car comme c'est une carte de débit PREPAID, les fonds seront déduits et non-disponible jusqu'à annulation de la caution (soit environ 10j après l'annulation).
Si non paiement immédiat en principe pas besoin d'avoir les fonds. Cependant certain motel demande une autorisation de 1$ afin de valider la carte. D'autres motels peuvent prélever une nuit + taxes en avance.
j'ai réservé via un service de conciergerie une voiture chez hertz.j'ai effectué le pré payement avec une carte de crédit qu'on m'a volé. Sur le voucher il est écrit qu'il faut présenter lors de la prise du véhicule la carte qui a prépayé. Mais je ne l'ai plus. Que dois je faire ?

La demande du loueur de presenter la même carte de credit que celle de la resa s'explique uniquement par la necessité pour lui de verifier de maniere commode que c'est bien la même personne qui prend le vehicule.
Si vous n'avez plus cette carte, vous pouvez bien entendu prouver par tout moyen que vous etes bien la personne qui a prepayé la location.
Autrement, d'un point de vue pratique, vous dites avoir utilisé un service de conciergerie et posseder un voucher.
Vous avez payé qui : le service de conciergerie ou HERTZ?
Si c'est le service de conciergerie, HERTZ n'a normalement pas vos references de carte de credit.

Je regarde les locations voitures pour SFO / LAX / LAS...
En comparant chez Hertz, j'ai trouvé en recherche rapide 300e LAS/LAS, 300e LAS/SFO et 450e SFO/LAS j'ai un drop off noté sur le devis pour ce dernier à payer sur place à l'agence retour.
Ma question du coup, le drop off est manquant sur le LAS/SFO ou il n'y en a pas du tout dans ce sens ? L'offre parait plus chère depuis SFO

Chez hertz .fr les forfaits proposes comprennent toujours les frais de drop off éventuels
Si i n y a rien d indiqué c est qu il n y en a pas
Chez hertz le drop off est toujours facturé a la restitution du véhicule meme en cas de tarif pre paid a la résa
Le pre paid ewt dobc toujours inférieur au montant total de la location indiqué en en-tête

The classic spots that have been fueling our dreams: Bariloche, the lakes, Chiloé, El Chaltén, Torres del Paine, Perito Moreno, El Calafate, Fitz Roy, Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego, and wrapping up in Valparaíso.
We’ll take a round-trip flight to Santiago, then I’m thinking of a one-way flight from Santiago to Punta Arenas. From there, we’ll explore and do several day hikes in the south, including Ushuaia and, if possible, Tierra del Fuego.
Then we’ll head back north by bus to Bariloche and the lakes, followed by Chiloé, then a bus to Santiago and Valparaíso.
Based on your experience, could you help me figure out the best way to structure this trip and maybe suggest some ideas?

We’re a young couple planning to travel to South Africa after spending about three weeks in Namibia. We’ll arrive in Cape Town around mid-December, with no fixed travel duration (though our budget will eventually set a limit).
After browsing through the forum, we’ve realized the country is packed with incredible spots, which makes choosing an itinerary tough. We’re looking for stunning landscapes, hikes, and so on. So, we’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences.
When we arrive in Cape Town, we’d like to settle in and take it easy until New Year’s, exploring at a relaxed pace. We know this period coincides with South African holidays—does that make finding accommodations (availability/prices) more difficult? Do you think it’s possible to stay in a nice place for about 15 days without aiming for the most upscale neighborhoods? Maybe somewhere a bit outside Cape Town, like Fish Hoek, and just visit the city occasionally.
After that, we’ll have plenty of time (about 2 to 2.5 months) to explore the country. We’d like to take our time. In your opinion, is it better to focus on the Cape Town region, or is it reasonable to consider more distant areas like the Drakensberg or Blyde River Canyon? Can everything be done by car if we take our time, or are domestic flights sometimes more practical?
Budget-wise, how much do car rentals cost? For accommodations, we usually look at Airbnb—are they affordable in South Africa? What’s the average nightly rate outside the biggest cities? Are there other platforms you’d recommend for saving on lodging?
Finally, regarding safety, are there any regions to avoid besides Johannesburg?
We know this is a lot of questions, but we’re still in the early planning stages!

After exploring southern Peru in 2024 with your help, we’d love to head north next. There’ll be 5 or 6 of us:
1. Arrive in Lima in the evening.
2. Visit Lima and take a flight at 6:35 PM to Tarapoto.
3, 4, 5. Spend a few days there to trek in a reserve (Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve) or somewhere else.
6. From Tarapoto to Chachapoyas—either by overnight bus, daytime bus, or private car.
7. In Chachapoyas: Gocta Waterfall, Sonche Canyon, and walk back to town.
8. Head to Kuelap citadel, Revash, and arrive in Leymebamba.
9. Leymebamba museum, then route to Cajamarca.
10. Cajamarca hot springs, overnight bus to Trujillo or Chiclayo—or do both.
11, 12, 13. Visit and explore the area.
14. Overnight bus back to Lima.
15. Lima.
16. Depart at 8 PM for France.

My planned route: Senegal → Gambia → Sierra Leone/Liberia (if logistics work out) → Côte d'Ivoire → Ghana → Togo → Benin → Cameroon → Gabon → Kenya (Masai Mara) → Uganda (Bwindi gorillas) → Rwanda → Tanzania (Kili + Serengeti + Zanzibar) → Mozambique → Malawi → Zambia (Victoria Falls) → Botswana → Namibia → South Africa (Cape Town). Madagascar as a bonus if timing/budget allows from Mozambique.
I’m not a backpacking newbie—I’ve done several trips in Europe and I’m familiar with the lifestyle, hostels, local transport, etc. But Africa is my first big adventure on this continent, and I’ve got some very concrete questions I’d love feedback on from people who’ve been there.
🎭 My big dilemma: flexibility vs. pre-organized work
What matters most to me is NOT rushing through. If I feel good somewhere, I’ll stay longer. If a region doesn’t click, I’ll cut it short. That seems totally incompatible with having pre-booked work or volunteer gigs, yet I need that income to stretch my budget.
I’m torn between two approaches:
Option A: The mixed rhythm: 3-4 weeks of volunteering in a country (free accommodation, full immersion), then 1-2 countries in classic backpacker "vacation" mode, then another mission somewhere, etc. This gives a breathing rhythm and avoids burnout from non-stop volunteering.
Option B: The continuous flow: finding gigs as I go, from the previous country, contacting hosts 2-3 weeks in advance with a flexible date range. Keeping maximum spontaneity but never arriving anywhere without a safety net.
Have you tried either? What actually works on the ground in Africa?
🌍 What I’m really looking for in this trip
Not just the classic tourist spots. I want to see the country as it is—eating at local joints, taking local transport (bush taxis, minibuses, sept-places), staying with locals when possible. The big reserves and safaris are part of the plan (Masai Mara, Serengeti, Okavango), but just as much as hanging out in a residential neighborhood in Dakar, understanding how people really live.
Volunteering or work interests me for that reason too (not just for free lodging, but because it’s the deepest way to dive into a country). Working at a school in Ghana, a lodge in Kenya, a permaculture farm in Mozambique—I see it as an immersion that classic tourism can’t offer.

Now, after seeing and reading a bit everywhere, and with the first quotes for a 6/7-day safari, I’m shocked by the prices (like $2,250) for places like Maasai Mara, where entry alone costs $200 per person per day, plus fees for the driver and vehicle.
So if you have any recent great tips or contacts to share to help me out, I’d really appreciate it—because despite the costs, we’d still love to go, while keeping things reasonable.
The most plausible solution is probably renting a vehicle with a driver-guide.
