Laptop bag for digital nomads

hi, I don’t quite understand your question: laptop bags or backpacks that can obviously fit a laptop do exist—have you tried searching online? Maybe they’re hard to find on Réunion.

I guess the idea is that you can use the bag you're looking for with just the essentials, including your laptop (at airports, while out and about), but also carry it easily alongside your larger luggage (leaving the airport, taking public transport to your accommodation, etc.). It all depends on your main luggage: suitcase? Backpack?

There’s a model that might work for you (and I think it’s only found in specialty travel luggage stores). It’s a small backpack that can convert into a chest bag by attaching to the straps of a larger backpack worn on your back (I saw this once with a mom traveling around the world with her 3-year-old daughter—she needed to keep both hands free!)

Otherwise, check out a supermarket-stationery store; there are tons of laptop bag models: backpacks, rolling cases, shoulder bags, 2-in-1, 3-in-1... at all price points and sizes. You’ll definitely find the right fit for you.

Thanks for your reply, Mathews! I was actually thinking more of a small backpack than just a simple laptop bag, especially to keep everything on me in cafés or on public transport.

Yeah, it’s true—on Réunion, we’re not always up to speed with all the trendy stuff that comes out in mainland France way earlier… So I do a lot of digging online.

I came across this site, which offers sleek and practical models for working while traveling. I’ll see how it goes. I’ll post a little update after my first few weeks on the road—it might come in handy!

I’ll keep in mind the idea of a small bag to attach to the straps—I hadn’t thought of that, but it could be super handy, especially in train stations or during long transfers.
