Gabon e-visa problem

Hey everyone! A small group of us are heading to Gabon for a research mission. Everyone got their visa without any issues through the e-visa site, and it only took a few days.

Except for a friend and me. We applied early, and three weeks later, still no news. And we leave in a week...

A colleague on-site tried to help us, but no updates so far.

My questions:

- Has this ever happened to you? - What are the solutions? (I’ve already tried calling, but it doesn’t work. The email contact form doesn’t work either. The Gabonese embassy isn’t functional, and they gave me a number that never answers and where you can’t even leave a message anymore.) - Can this be resolved easily at the airport? - Am I totally screwed?

Clean record, and I haven’t been to any sketchy countries. Brand-new passport...

Thanks in advance for your help! !

Hi there, I’m sorry—I don’t have any experience with Gabon or this specific process, but I’ve dealt with similar headaches in other countries.

If you have someone on the ground, there’s usually a chance things can get sorted. It’s odd that nothing’s moving despite that.

Depending on where you live—or if you know anyone nearby—could you visit the Gabonese Embassy or contact a consulate in France? I imagine there are several. In person, you might have an easier time getting an answer and figuring out what’s going on (and why it’s not normal).

Worst case, submit another application since you’re still within the 72-hour window the DGDI mentions.

I’ll also ask a Gabonese friend who’s worked in consular roles if she has any ideas.

Otherwise, I don’t *think* you’ll be turned away if you haven’t received anything yet. But again, I’m not speaking from experience—maybe the reality is different from what’s advertised.
