Hello Community! Back and happy to see this site resurfacing after the precious help I’ve gathered here before! Today, the family has grown, and we’re looking for accommodation for 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) in Tarrafal to spend New Year’s… any ideas for a memorable stay? Guesthouse or hotel…
Merci Flo

Hi Florent, You might want to specify which Tarrafal you’re referring to? There are several on different islands: Tarrafal de Monte Trigo on Santo Antão, Tarrafal de Santiago, and another one on São Nicolau! ;O) Marie

Hi, sorry—I should’ve clarified that I meant Tarrafal on Santiago 😊
Merci Flo

Okay, I’m less familiar with that. Not too many ideas to share. We stayed in a pretty average hotel.

Hi there, Last January, on the day we arrived from France, we stayed at: Deluxe B&B Casa Alegria Tarrafal. It's on Booking. They have a family room, I think, but the private bathroom is separate! Our room (for 2 people) was decent, and breakfast was okay. Value for money was reasonable for Cape Verde, where accommodations are relatively expensive. A driver arranged by the guesthouse picked us up from the airport for a rate lower than the taxis. By the way, we were never asked to pay for the ride—probably an oversight. The guesthouse is nice, located a bit outside the "center," but Tarrafal itself (in my opinion) doesn’t have much going for it except its beach—and even that... We stayed for a day and a half, but one day would’ve been enough. Make sure to choose your room(s) carefully, as some have no view—just a wall 2 meters from the window! !
