Nous avons séjourné dans cette petite ONG de Jaipur en juillet 2007, par hasard. Il s'agit en même temps d'un centre d'études sur la philosophie de Gandhi et d'une petite Ong qui s'occupe de développer, entre autres l'éducation, la santé dans des villages. Nous sommes allés rencontrer des groupes de femmes, un centre d'apprentissage de tissage, une école etc... La famille qui s'occupe de ce centre est adorable, elle accueille aussi bien pour quelques mois que quelques jours. Ce fut pour nous très intéressant de quitter pour quelques temps notre vie de touriste et de rencontrer une "autre" Inde. Deux chambres simples mais très propres et fonctionnelles, une petite cuisine et terrasse pour les repas. Une modeste participation est demandé aux hôtes de passage, cela les aide à financer leurs projets. En quoi consistait votre mission sur place ? avec-vous enseigner ? ou fait de campagne de sensibilisation ? si oui, aviez vous une formation particulière ?
Ou est-ce que vous avez seulement séjourné sur place en financant votre chambre et rencontrer les familles sur place par simple curiosité de rencontres ?
Nous étions hôtes payants dans cette famille (ce qu'ils demandent est dérisoire, on peut ensuite donner plus, mais aucune obligation). On peut juste y dormir mais si l'on est intéressé, ils vous emmènent volontiers "visiter" l'école, parler avec les instits, les femmes dans les villages, les centres d'apprentissages etc... On peut aussi bien sûr séjourner plus longtemps, voire plusieurs mois et participer de plusieurs façons selon ses compétences. Si vous êtes intéressés, il faut les contacter par mail et expliquer ce que vous recherchez. Sur leur site, on découvre leurs actions et les possibilités de participation. Beaucoup de choses sont possibles, on a trouvé intéressant qu'ils acceptent des touristes "ordinaires" comme nous. N'hésitez à m'adresser un message privé si nécessaire.

I’m a volunteer leader at a youth center (MJC), and we’ve been deeply moved by everything happening in Madagascar—extreme poverty, endangered animals, deforestation, and so on. Plus, one of our teens has a Malagasy friend, so our group wants to travel there next year.
Throughout this year, they’ve planned fundraisers to collect donations (sheets, dish towels, schoolbooks, hygiene products, etc.) and funds to cover their trip and stay.
They’re really motivated and generous—they already volunteer in schools and senior centers, and they’re always welcomed warmly.
But so far, they haven’t found any organizations in Madagascar willing to host them for two weeks (orphanages, schools, animal protection parks, etc.).
Does anyone know of any contacts, please?

We currently have 2 wheelchairs that we would like to give to our partner, the Benin Handisport Federation. If you're traveling to Benin, alone or with someone, we could give you one of these 2 wheelchairs (or both). Out of the 40 kg of luggage you're allowed, a wheelchair will only take up less than half. Our partner can pick it up at Cotonou Airport...

Hello, we’d like to travel as a family to Madagascar (2 parents, 2 kids aged 10 and 12). A first trip over 15 years ago completely amazed and moved me with its beauty, kindness, and life experiences—but also its poverty and hardship. That’s why I think it’s possible to introduce our kids to this island while also doing something useful through volunteering. The window is short—15 days in March 2020—which means avoiding the north and east of the island due to cyclones and focusing on the south instead. Some ecovolunteering projects exist online, but the cost is sometimes prohibitive, and kids are rarely accepted. Do you have any ideas or contacts? Thanks in advance!
