J'aimerais connaitre les visas ou documents requis ainsi que les difficultés administratives et autres problèmes évantuels, pour séjourner et traverser la Turquie, la Syrie, le Liban, l'Égypte, la Libye, la Tunisie, l'Algérie et le Maroc.

Il te faut bien sur un visa par pays
Pour un Français le visa pour la Libye et l'Algérie sont à prendre dans le pays d'origine (France) il te faut un CPD pour Egypte de 250% du prix du véhicule
Libye et Algérie guide obligatoire payant
PAS DE PASSAGE DE FRONTIERE (déjà dit) ENTRE ALGERIE ET MAROC depuis 1994
Pas de tampons d'Israël sur ton passeport pour Libye et Algérie
Il n'y a pas toujours la possibilité d'obtenir un visa au passage d'une frontière

J'aimerai aussi comprendre pourquoi le départ est d'Ankara... Et où sera immatriculé le véhicule. Cela change sans doute des choses en matières de carnet de passage, de visas, d'assurances etc.

Ni pour Algérie/Mali/Mauritanie sans un 4x4
Non pas de liaison bateaux entre Algérie et Maroc pour un transport de CC
Reste = Algérie/Espagne et Espagne/Maroc

Tout ces pays sont avec des frontières communes qui ne posent pas de problèmes de passage d'un pays à l'autre
Sauf à arriver en avion cargo, je ne vois pas comment partir d'Ankara...
Il vit peut-être en Turquie... Dans ce cas le CC est immatriculé - peut-être - en Turquie, c'est sans doute un élément à prendre en compte pour la suite.
Je suis Canadien alors je prendrai les visas ici au Canada.
J'acheterai un CC en France avec une immatriculation Francaise.
Nous pouvons faire le voyage en partant du Maroc ou en partant
de la Syrie, ca reste a voir selon les avantages et les inconvéniants.
Concernant le CPD en Egypte, une carte de crédit devrait faire l'affaire.
J'aimerais avoir un apercu des tarifs pour le guide en Lybie et l'Algérie.
Passer par la Mauritanie pour traverser du Maroc a l'Algérie serais envisageable a ton avis?
Mon autre problème est quelle chemin prendre, dans un sens ou dans l'autre, entre l'Egypte et Damas, sans entrer en Israel ni au Liban.

Je vais vous mettre dans le contexe. Nous avons ma femme et moi l'habitude depuis 13 ans de voyager en CC tout les hivers. Nous partons de Montréal de novembre a avril incl.(6mois), vers le Mexiques, Guatémala, Belisle etc.
Cette année nous avons choisi l'Afrique du nord.
Achat d'un CC en France et départ par l'espagne pour le Maroc et ensuite traverser les autre pays d'Afrique du nord pour se dirriger toujour vers l'est jusqu'en Syrie et la Turkie puis retour en France.
Nous avons le choix de faire ce trajet dans l'autre sens, soit en partant vers la Turkie, la Syrie vers l'ouest jusqu'au Maroc et revenir sur Paris par l'Espagne.
PAPY sucgère la Mauritani, le Mali, Sénégal etc. et retour par le Maroc.
Il n'y a donc pas de possibilité de continuer Mali, Niger, Tchad, Soudan et Egypte ensuite trouver une route par la Jordanie, Syrie et Turkie.
Nous souhaitons tellement séjourner en Egypte.
Je comprend toutes les difficultées pour traverser plusieurs de ces pays
mais je suis certain qu'avec votre aide et vos conseils nous parviendrons a trouver des solutions.

Si tu achete un CC en France ? comment le voyage peu t'il commencer par le Maroc ou par la Syrie, puisque tu achète en France ?
Il te faut les papiers à ton nom (carte-grise) pour passer les frontières
Pour obtenir un visa pour la Libye ou l'Algérie il te faut une lettre d'invitation d'une agence de voyage, cette agence est responsable de toi, donc elle t'imposera un guide obligatoire qu'il faut que tu transporte ou s'il lui faut un véhicule c'est plus cher, le prix au nombres de jours ..
La carte de crédit ne remplace pas un CPD quand il est obligatoire, surtout dans ces pays où presque tout se paye en monnaie, pas avec une carte de crédit
Carte de crédit = avoir une carte bleu visa, car les autres cartes ne fonctionnent pas à coup sur dans certain pays
NON il n'est pas possible de passer par la Mauritanie pour aller en Algérie
Je ne connais pas ce coin du monde (Egypte ou Jordanie) à mon avis, c'est Turquie/Syrie/Jordanie/Egypte
Je sais qu'il n'y a pas beaucoup de voyageurs en CC dans ce coin du monde, surtout a cause des tracasseries de visa et de passage de frontière, avec le blocage de la frontière Maroc/Algérie qui empêche de faire le tour de la méditerranée ..
Pourquoi chercher à voyager dans ces pays compliqués ??
Que fais tu de ton CC une fois la fin de ton voyage (si tu le fais)

sans vouloir te "niaiser" 😉, il serait bon que tu ouvres une carte et regarde sérieusement ce que tu envisages de faire
je connais, pour l'avoir fait plusieurs fois, ce qui est possible ou pas de Paris à Paris en passant par le Nord de la Méditerranée (Europe Central, Turquie, Liban; Israël, Syrie, Jordanie, Égypte, et revenir par le Sud (Égypte, Libye, Tunisie, Algérie), dans cette boucle tu oublies la Maroc, ou alors de la Tunisie, railler un port (Gênes - Italie, ou Barcelone - Espagne) qui t'amène à Tanger - Maroc
en premier, ce qui est IMPOSSIBLE . de passer d'Algérie, au Maroc, ou l'inverse, que ce soit par le route, ou le train, donc point de passage OBLIGATOIRE L'ESPAGNE
n'espère pas passer par la Sud Algérien avec un CC, ni même Sud-Ouest, tu t'exposerais aux plus grands ds dangers)
en second, ce qui est un peu compliqué;
prévoir une taxe de 150 U$ hebdomadaire (très compliquer à renouveler, donc la prendre pour TOUT le séjour à la frontière) ceci pour la Syrie uniquement
le CDP pour l'Égypte, sors toi de l'idée qu'avec ta carte de crédit même "gold" "Premium" ou autre, tu règleras l'affaire, ... tu feras demi-tour, C'EST CERTAIN, ou tu continueras en taxi, en laissant ton CC en garde à la frontière, MAIS TU NE PASSERAS PAS 😕
donc, tu as ce CDP (pour mémoire = garantie bancaire de 250% de la valeur vénale du véhicule) 😛, sinon
et là les choses ne vont pas être aisées; dépot à la frontière; de la carte grise du véhicule, de pas moins de 6000 (six mille) EUROS EN CASH !! MAIS Où CELA SE COMPLIQUE, c'est que tu seras OBLIGé de repasser par le même poste frontière pour récupérer ce que tu as laissé en dépot, .... SANS RECU !! ... et oui, comme la manip n'est pas légale, comment peuvent-ils te faire un reçu pour une transaction illicite ......
donc, sans le CDP, tu ne peux pas continuer ta route au travers de l'égypte 😛, j'en suis à plus de trois passages, et malgré cela, ma situation avec eux n'a pas changé, toujours les mêmes conditions ... (like it or leave it ...)
obtension d'un visa de transit par la Libye 😇 pas gagné d'avance, parfois l'on nous le délivre facilement (dans le sens Égypte => Tunisie), parfois c'est .. "galère", semaine prochaine ... semaine prochaine ... semaine prochaine 😛,
dans le sens opposé Tunisie => Égypte c'est plus simple, mais tu seras obligé d'accepter à ton bord "un accompagnateur" que tu auras à payer environ 40 euros par jour, mais aussi le nourrir, et le loger 😛
encore une fois, ce n'est pas une option, C'EST UNE OBLIGATION à la frontière Algérienne, le même scénario se répète, puisque tu n'auras pas le droit de descendre vers le Sud, sans un "guide" à bord ....
commence à prendre la mesure de tout ce qui précède, puis tu reviendras avec d'autres questions, auxquelles j'essaierais de répondre, toujours avec plaisir

je peux comprendre votre décision, car effectivement cela représente un investissement non négligeable, à propos de l'Afrique, je ne connais pas, mes connaissances sont le Grand Maghreb (Maroc, Algérie "6 ans de résidence", Tunisie, Lybie "3 ans de résidence") l'Afrique de l'Est (l'Égypte "9 ans de résidence") l'Orient, le Moyen-Orient (Turquie, Syrie, Jordanie, Arabie Saoudite "6 ans de résidence", Koweit "1 an de résidence", Émirats Unis "1 an de résidence")
mais tu trouveras ici, plusieurs spécialistes de cette destination "magique" qu'est l'Afrique 😉
Dommage, car si nous étions plus riche nous aurions tenté l'expédition.Le guide a 40 e par jour ca va pour une semaine ou deux mais nous voulions séjourner au moins 3 semaines en Algérie et 3 semaines en Lybie, impensable.
Le dépot en Egypte aussi est le facteur clé de notre abandon, revenir en arrière pour récupérer ce montant signifirait revenir sur nos pas et oublier Pétra, Amman, Damas etc., inpensable.
Nous pourrons toujours visiter ces endroit par avion plus tard, mais le défi était de le faire en CC.
Malgré le peut de temp qu'il nous reste pour préparer notre départ fin octobre, nous allons envisager l'ouest Afrique.
Maroc, Mauritanie, Mali, Sénégal, Burkina, Togo, Benin, Niger.
Je prendrai rendez vous avec les ambassades ou consulats des pays en questions pour autorisations, visas etc. et et je reviendrai sur voyage Forum pour d'autre excellents conseils.

The flight I’ve spotted: arrival at BKK and return to France 31 days later.
With the new regulations/visa:
"Starting September 15, 2026, French nationals holding an ordinary passport will be able to stay in Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism purposes only, down from the previous 60 days."
How do you think the counting is done?

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I’ll explain my situation.
Unfortunately, I lost my passport, and I only realized it two weeks before my departure for a humanitarian mission in Libya. I’m a nurse, and this mission really means a lot to me.
First, I applied for an emergency passport, but it was denied by the Val-d'Oise prefecture on the grounds that a planned humanitarian mission wasn’t considered an urgent reason.
So, I submitted a biometric passport application on July 20th. Since then, the tracking has been stuck, and the town hall can’t (or won’t) give me any clear information. Every time I call, I get a different story. The last update I received was that the passport had been produced since July 23rd with a status of "about to be shipped," but nothing since then.
I’ve managed to push my departure back to next Tuesday at the latest, but I’m starting to really panic.
Have any of you submitted an application around July 20th, especially in Val-d'Oise (95)? How long did you wait between the passport being produced and it being available at the town hall? Is it normal for this step to take this long?
This mission means so much to me. I had everything organized, and I’m also supposed to attend a friend’s wedding right after near the border.

I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!
If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I’ve tried my hotel, the Lotte Hotel (which is well-known in Seoul), the airport—basically, I’ve entered at least 20 addresses, all rejected....

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

We need to apply for a B2 visa because we visited Iran in 2018. It currently costs $185, but they’re planning an additional $250 fee per person for the same visa—it’s been approved but not yet implemented. Does anyone know when this fee will take effect?

In November, we're heading off on a 4-month trip. We'll be landing in China and plan to leave the country via a land border into Vietnam.
I’ve read that China may ask for proof of exit within 30 days (flight ticket or other reservation). Since we’d be leaving by land, I’m wondering how this works in practice.
Has anyone here been in this situation recently?
Did the airline ask for an exit ticket before boarding?
Did Chinese authorities require proof upon arrival?
Is a train/bus ticket to Vietnam sufficient?
Is a cancelable or flexible reservation accepted?
