bonjour à tous voila mon mari a eu une proposition de contrat à port gentil, nous sommes tous enchantés mais mon soucis principal est la santé de mes enfants j'ai deux garcons de 13 et 8 ans et une petite poupette de 4 mois. tout d'abord j'aimerai savoir si les hopitaux sont fiables, si il y a des pediatres mais je me pose aussi beaucoup de questions sur l'hygienne courante et les précautions quotidienne dans une discution j'ai pu lire que pour le bain des bébés il fallait faire bouillir l'eau avant quel inconvénient!!! ma petite puce ne pourra pas etre vaccinée contre la fievre jaune avant de partir trop jeune le risque existe t il vraiment? de plus je sais en qualité d'infirmière que les anti paludéens ne peuvent etre pris au long court faute de détruire le foie bref c'est la seule chose qui m'inquiète bien qu'après 4 ans passés aux antilles nous avons tous eu la dengue et nous sommes tous en pleine santé.
en ce qui concerne les cours par le cned pour mon fils qui rentrera en sept prochain au lycée est ce mieux approprié que la pension a libreville on ne s'est jamais quitté donc pour moi la pension ce serait rude et concernant mon 2eme petit oustiti vaut il mieux l'inscrire depuis la fance ou une fois sur place

Tout d'abord en cas de gros pépin comme on dit ici le seul hôpital valable c'est AIR FRANCE...
A POG il y'a 3 cliniques assez fiables : BILIE, LITTORAL et MANDJI.
Rassure toi pas la peine de faire bouillir l'eau ça c'est une grosse connerie... Par contre elle n'est pas bonne, donc bouteille ANDZA !
Logiquement la fièvre jaune est obligatoire ! Renseigne toi bien ! Mon fils s'est fait vacciner contre la fièvre jaune à l'âge de 6 mois.
Pour ton information je n'ai jamais pris de médicament contre le palu ! Par contre le risque existe bien !
Je ne comprends pas pourquoi tu veux mettre ton fils au CNED sachant que le collège français Victor Hugo commence à la section de maternelle jusqu'en Seconde...

Conseil d'un "vieil Africain" : ne vous fiez pas à tous les avis éminemment compétents de personnes n'ayant jamais mis les pieds en Afrique ou d'expats y résidant depuis peu ! J'ai vécu trente ans de ma vie au Congo-Brazzaville et au Gabon, Cameroun, RCA, me suis fait bouffer par toutes les saloperies ailées ou non qui peuvent y être rencontrées et suis arrivé maintenant à l'âge respectable de 83 ans sans la moindre maladie tropicale. La vaccination contre la fièvre jaune est obligatoire et le centre de vaccination international le plus proche vous renseignera sur l'âge minimum. La vie sous les tropiques demande de la prudence mais n'a rien de dangereux et il est inutile de prendre un abonnement à l'hôpital ! Souvenez-vous simplement que vous n'êtes pas à St Tropez et que s'exposer au soleil sans mesure peut amener quelques dégâts, qu'il faut se protéger des moustiques (qui ne donnent pas tous le palu !). Une chose certaine cependant : tous les organismes ne sont pas identiques et quelques-uns peuvent récolter des maladies là où d'autres restent indemnes...allez savoir pourquoi !
En tout cas, bonne chance, POG est une ville qui a quelques attraits et vous pouvez facilement quitter l'île de Mandji pour aller visiter le delta de l'Ogowé au sud.

Actuellement au Sénégal, nous avons vécu, ma femme & moi, au Bénin, Côte d'Ivoire, et nous nous apprêtons à déménager à Port Gentil en septembre. Nous avons maintenant un petit bébé de 8 mois (soit l'âge de votre petite poupette ;).

Enfin, pour répondre au message concernant la fièvre jaune, il faut savoir que cette maladie a quasiment totalement disparu du Gabon, on continue à vacciner comme pour la variole ou on a continué à vacciner pour des questions d'argent, alors que la variole était éradiqué depuis presque 10 ans....
ma fille est arrivée au gabon alors qu'elle avait 2 semaines, je l'ai faite vacciné pour ses 1 an, j'aurai pu la faire vacciner avant mais dans un hopital militaire (risque de faire des réactions au vaccin).
Comme le palu, il faut arrêter que les médecins en France balancent leurs conneries....
5 ans de Gabon et jamais une seule crise pour nous 3, ni d'ailleurs pour aucun de nos amis...Au début (2 semaines !!!) on s'arrose de pschitt pschitt et puis on abandonne !
j'ai des amis qui disent faire des crises et quand on leur demande : tu as fait une goutte épaisse, ils répondent : ah non, je connais les symptômes et je sais reconnaitre un palu !!!!
Palu ou grippe, c'est pareil d'ailleurs beaucoup de médecins ici ne s'embètent plus ils te mettent sous coartem pour pas prendre de risques sans te faire de goutte épaisse...Mais il y a des tests en pharmacie très fiable !
Y en aurait des choses à dire, n'hésitez pas !!!!!

Est-ce que je peux trouver sur place du matériel de puériculture (sièges auto, matelas à langer...)? On m'a dit que beaucoup d'expatriés mettaient en vente leur matériel au moment de leur retour en France, vous me le confirmez?
Est-il obligatoire d'adhérer au CFE et à une complémentaire autre que celle que j'ai en France?

je prends la discussion en cours, toute ma petite famille se prépare pour aller sur port-gentil en janvier 2012 mon mari vient d'avoir un contrat sur place. j'ai 2 petits garçons de 3ans (jumeaux) et j'aimerais avoir des renseignements utiles sur la ville à savoir les ecoles, les hôpitaux les logements et les activités possibles a mener sur place.
Pour répondre dans l'ordre à tes questions :
Concernant les écoles, il y à l'école Mixte, école conventionnée par l'éducation nationale française. le niveau y est très bon puisque même des enfants que j'ai connu qui sont arrivés en cours de route de France on été obligés de prendre des cours de rattrapage pour se mettre au niveau !
Concernant le côté médical, il y a des medecins français qui sont dans des cabinets privés ou en clinique, deux dentistes également français après pour tout ce qui est spécialiste il n'y a pas grand chose, de toute façon pour quoi que ce soit d'un peu grave, on se fait rapatrier, on traine pas ici !
pour le logement, ici tout est cher il faut compter 1000 euros minimum pour un appartement et 1500 euros minimum pour une petite maison, sans parler de l'alimentaire de l'eau et de l'électricité.
A Port-Gentil, il n'y a pas grand chose à faire, impossible de sortir de la ville en voiture, c'est comme une ile ici ! Et les vols intérieur dissuade même les plus fortunés de visiter le pays !
Il faut aimer la pêche, la plage et la farniente, sinon on s'ennuie ferme !
Concernant les activités il y a quelques associations de femmes et pour le boulot la politique d'emploi ici est plus que draconienne pour espérer trouver du boulot !
Il n'y a rien de bien particulier à vous conseiller d'emmener de France, à part des vetements pour les enfants de bien calculer qu'ils tout jusqu'à votre prochain retour en métropole ! les pharmacies sont bien fournies, non, rien de bien particulier...
N'hésitez pas à poser d'autres questions ou si vous voulez plus de précisions sur ce que je viens de vous dire !
Ah, n'écoutez pas tout ce que les médecins en France peuvent raconter sur le Gabon : le palu, ebola ets.....!!!!
