je vais partir en mars ( le 15 ) a Montréal , départ un peu précipité pour diverses raisons . je suis en contact avec une agence de photos , mais le soucis c'est qu'ils ne veulent pas faire de démarche pour mon visa de travaille avant que je puisse faire 1ou 2 essais pour eux . j'ai bien compris que travailler sans permis n'étais vraiment pas bon au canada et je n'ai vraiment pas envie de commencer une nouvelle aventure comme sa .
que puis-je faire , j'ai crus comprendre que les artistes n'avaient pas besoins de visa , mais comment le prouver que je suis un artiste ( vus que je ne suis pas considérait en tant que tel en france )

Les artistes ont besoin d'un permis de travail pour travailler au Canada. Les seuls artistes qui n'ont pas besoin de permis sont les artistes de spectacles.
Dans ton cas, il faudra que tu clarifies ton projet. Tu vas rencontrer une agence seulement pour faire des tests photos? L'agence veut te voir pour éventuellement te faire travailler? Si ce n'est qu'une rencontre de ce genre, ce n'est pas un travail (puisque j'imagine que tu ne seras pas rémunéré juste pour effectuer des tests) et tu peux venir en simple visiteur.
Cependant, si tu reçois un salaire ou qu'on te propose des contrats, l'agence devra faire les démarches pour l'obtention de ton permis de travail.

De la manière que je comprends, l'objectif est surtout de voir si toi et l'agence pourrez éventuellement faire des affaires ensemble. Alors cela tombe dans la catégorie "voyage d'affaires" donc tu peux venir à titre de simple visiteur seulement. Si par la suite l'agence veut débuter quelque chose d'officiel avec toi, donc éventuellement te faire signer un contrat, il faudra entamer les démarches pour le permis de travail.
Lors de ton passage à l'immigration canadienne, il sera important de préciser si on te pose la question qu'il s'agit d'un voyage de prospection et que tu aies au courant que si tu as une offre il te faudra un permis de travail.

Si tu es Français tu n'as pas besoin de visa, juste ton passeport.
Normalement la demande de permis de travail se fait à l'ambassade de ton pays de résidence mais oui, il est possible de faire une demande en étant à Montréal et de l'envoyer à l'ambassade canadienne de Buffalo, aux États-Unis. Une fois la demande approuvée, tu devras quitter le Canada et y revenir le jour même pour obtenir le permis (il faut traverser la frontière pour cette procédure). Le plus simple est de se rendre à Lacolle, d'entrer aux États-Unis et de faire demi-tour pour revenir au Canada, comme cela tu pourras rencontrer un agent d'immigration frontalier.
Une fois à Montréal, si tu as besoin d'info supplémentaire il y a un centre d'appel de l'immigration où tu peux téléphoner gratuitement pour obtenir des infos: http://www.cic.gc.ca/...index.asp#telecentre

Un visa est un autocollant apposé dans un passeport, il s'obtient à l'ambassade et il est obligatoire pour prendre un vol en direction du Canada.
Mais les Français en sont dispensés. Seul le passeport suffit. L'agent frontalier apposera son tampon dans le passeport et la durée par défaut du séjour est de 6 mois. Ton statut sera celui de visiteur temporaire. Il faudra respecter les critères mentionnés ici:

je connais des chambres à louer , frigo , plaques chauffantes, armoires, lit pour 500 dollars environ à côté du métro Viau et 10 minutes à pied du métro Jean Talon...
il suffit juste de donner une avance peut-être une caution et payer la durée à laquelle tu veux rester
