Besoin de vos conseil! J'ai décidé sur un coup de tête de partir pour le week end à Marrakech avec une amie. ( 3 journées pleines).
J'ai déjà beaucoup voyagé mais jamais en Afrique je me pose donc quelques questions auxquelles vous aurez peut être apporter des réponses!
Tout d'abord nous partons en plein Ramadan, n'est-ce pas un problème?
J'ai ensuite trouvé un riad a environ 15 minutes a pied de la place Jemaa El Fna, j'ai lu sur un forum qu'il fallait éviter de se balader tard a pied dans la médina, je ne suis pas vraiment inquiète, il ne m'est jamais rien arrivée durant mes différents voyages mais je ne connais pas l'Afrique du Nord et peut être faut-il faire attention passé une certaine heure?
Nous allons ensuite avoir trois journées pleines devant nous, le programme est de profiter toute une journée d'un hammam/spa: y'a t-il des adresses a connaitre? des endroits à éviter? Faut-il réserver ou est-il possible de s'y rendre directement le jour J?
Ensuite, le but serait de faire une petite excursion dans les alentours de Marrackech, que me conseillez vous? Qu'y a-t-il a voir/faire dans les alentours pour une demi journée voir une journée? Ou réserver ces excursions? Je pensais peut être a des ballades dans les dunes (chameau ou quad...) Qu'en pensez vous?
Pour ce qui est des soirées, j'ai lu que la place Jemaa el jafna était très animée et agréable pour boire un verre ou manger, est-ce bien vrai? ou comme beaucoup d'endroit touristique il vaut mieux s’éloigner un peu pour trouver de bons restaurants à des prix raisonnable? Si vous avez de bonnes adresse simple et pas cher pour manger de la bonne cuisine marocaine, je suis preneuse!
Dernière petite question, une fois à l’aéroport, comment se rendre dans le centre ville? Prendre un taxi? Quel est environ le coût pour le trajet?
Pour dîner(c'est fermé à midi) j'aime bien le DAR MIMA.Un restaurant tenu par des femmes où on mange bien, de la vraie cuisine marocaine à prix correct.C'est dans la médina.
Sinon, autour de la place, on peut manger pour pas cher, au Toubkal ou mieux chez son voisin immédiat dont j'ai oublié le nom...
Pour une excursion à la journée, soit Essaouira, soit Ait Benhadou, soit la vallée de l'Ourika.Renseignez-vous auprès de votre riad.
Pour aller de l'aéroport à la médina en taxi c'est entre 80 et 100dh selon vos talents de négociatrice...
Pour le trajet aeroport de Marrakech - place jemaa el fna il y a un bus numero 19 juste devant la sortie de l'aeroport trajet pour 30 dhr .
Pour manger a prix plus que corrects perso j'aime bien Chez Haj Brik , rue Bani Marin , rue juste sur la gauche de la poste sur la celebre place .

On est parties à 2, à plusieurs reprises au Maroc et on n'a pas eu le moindre problème.Mais on ne traînait pas le soir.Et puis, c'est aussi une question d'âge!
Pour le trajet Aéroport - Centre ville suivez les conseils de Capbreton.... prenez le bus !
Pour rentrer le soir, je ne vois pas de problème...enfin les précautions d'usage...comme en France et à plusieurs c'est toujours plus rassurant. Le problème sera plustôt de retrouver le riad....à travers les ruelles de la medina...si c'est là qu'il s'y trouve ? . Prenez bien vos repère la journée !
Pour sortir de Marrakech un jour..... allez voir dans les rues piétonnes derrière la poste de la place (rue Beni Marine) il y a des propositions à la journée. Pour bien profiter n'allez pas trop loin......cascades d'Immouzzer...l'été ce sera rafraîchissant.... ou vers la vallée de l'Ourika...vous serez proches du haut Atlas....ou encore Essaouira ...au bord de la mer !
En ce qui concerne "...des ballades dans les dunes (chameau ou quad...)..." Sachez que le désert est à une (longue) journée de route de Marraekech et que c'est illusoire de vouloir y aller et revenir en 1 jour (même en 2 !) et à cette saison c'est 45-50 degrés !. Vous reviendrez en automne, à Noël ou au printemps !?!
Pour le hammam, j'ai testé le "mille et une nuit"..... bien mais sans plus. e voudrais aller aux "Bains de Marrakech" qui ont l'air plus grand et plus "sophistiqués". Allez-voir sur le net....et il se trouve en plus près des palais de la Bahia et le Dar Si Saïd...donc pratique à combiner....mais une journée là-dedans....c'est beaucoup !
Passez-y 2h ou 3h si vous y trouvez de l'intérêt...mais se mettre au chaud quand il fait chaud....c'est déjà courageux ! Donc en journée vous ne risquez pas de manquer de place...!!
Pensez à rester à l'ombre entre 12h et 15h....le soleil est brûlant à ces heures...!
Pour les restaurants...il y en a partout et c'est (presque) toujours de la cuisine marocaine !!!...rustique et populaire sur la place .... un peu plus touristique aux alentours....et ensuite des milliers d'autres restaurants dans toute la ville !
Celà dépendra aussi de votre budget ! Allez fouiner lors de vos déplacements en ville !..ou suivez les conseils des internautes de VF !! vous trouvez de tout....partout ..à tous les prix !!

Nous avons jeté notre dévolu sur la Riad Lena spa. A cette periode, nous avons fait de sacrés économies sur le billet donc petit plaisir sur le Riad, ca nous permettra de comparer un peu les prix des soins au riad et a l'exterieur..

After many trips to the south of Fès, I’m giving the north a try.
My plan is roughly to do a road trip loop from Rabat back to Rabat, passing through Asilah, Tangier, Tétouan, Chefchaouen, Akchour, Fès, Meknès, and Volubilis.
That’s a lot of cities.
Probably a bit too many for our taste—we usually prefer more isolated spots...
So I’m looking for tips on little backroads, secluded beaches, half-day hikes, and offbeat places.

Then, when I mentioned I wanted to stay for two or three weeks—maybe even a month—explaining that my trip wouldn’t be strictly touristy but more of a pilgrimage to the places of my childhood, and that it would likely be a very emotional journey, I expected a positive and warm reaction to my approach. Instead, I suddenly stopped getting replies from the three or four people I’d contacted. So now I’m wondering about the reception former Pieds-Noirs can expect...

- Does it need to cover the entire duration of the trip?
- Is this document mandatory for a hotel to rent a room?
- Is it checked during inspections?
- Is a hotel booking (e.g., via Booking.com) sufficient for the visa?
- If so, does it need to be paid in advance?
I plan to visit several cities and do one or more treks with a guide or agency.

I’m leaving for Tunisia in five weeks for a full 15-day trip. I’ll be arriving in Monastir and departing from there as well.
I’d like to do a route that’s a bit different from my first stay, which was more focused on cities and culture (Tunis, Sousse, Kairouan, El Jem).
I’ll be getting around by public transport.
I’d like to head south toward Tozeur, and I saw that you can take a *louage* from Monastir to Sbeitla (2h30). I imagine it’s not too complicated to get to Tozeur from there afterward? The issue is the return trip to Monastir and safety in Sbeitla.
If this route seems too complicated, I might opt for Djerba instead, which looks simpler.

Even though I come to Morocco four times a year, it’s been a long time since I’ve made the trip by car. I need to refresh my knowledge! I’ll be traveling in early October. I have a car that’s about 20 years old. The plan is to cross via Algeciras/Ceuta.

Day 1-2: Explore the city center, hike around Cap Spartel...
Day 3: Stop in Tetouan
Day 4-5-6: Chefchaouen and a day hike in the Rif Mountains
Day 6-7: Discover the city of Fes (I’ve heard so many great things!!)
Day 8: Stop in Meknes and possibly visit the historic site of Volubilis
Day 9-10: Rabat (I’ve heard mixed things... some good, some bad)
After that, I have the choice of heading back to Tangier for my return flight... or going down to Agadir (also a possible return flight) and extending my trip by 5 days :)
From what I can tell, everything is well connected by bus (CTM) or train (ONCF).
Another question: Is the vibe in Moroccan youth hostels for meeting people the same as what you’d find in Western Europe?

Tickets for entry to Majorelle Garden are only issued online via an official site
(though there are fraudulent sites out there). On the official site, they ask for legitimate info
(name, nationality, etc.). What made me go "hmm" was the request for both an email address
AND a password (with confirmation). Is this normal?

I aimed for an excursion to the Chigaga desert from M’Hamid because it seems less touristy and allows for a more compact loop. Is that a good idea? Is the drive to M’Hamid maybe too tedious?

A lot of people find it important to stick to their budget when traveling—not to skimp, but to visit as many places as possible since traveling is their hobby.
In this post, I want to share some tips for those coming to Morocco who want their trip to be budget-friendly.
1. Prebook everything: hotels or riads, car rentals, or tours. If you book these in advance, it’ll make your life easier. You won’t have to deal with hagglers or people trying to overcharge you for services that are available online for free. Use platforms like Booking, Expedia, carsrental.ma, Airbnb, and other booking services to get this done properly.
2. Exchange your money to Moroccan dirhams as soon as you land. 1 € is always a little over 10 dirhams, but many people get charged as if it were exactly 10 dirhams per euro.
3. When visiting an old site or the old medina, avoid talking to vendors and shop owners—they’re really good at getting your attention and making you overpay for things.
4. Ask your tour guide to buy things for you. Yes, they do get a commission, but you’ll probably pay way more if you buy something yourself that they can get cheaply.
5. Walk everywhere. You don’t need a taxi for every little trip. Pick a good location and walk—most Moroccan cities are safe during normal hours.
6. Buy your food, drinks, etc., from supermarkets at normal prices. They can’t overcharge you since they scan every product.

Do you know of any places around Marrakech, Ouarzazate, or Kelaat M’Gouna where we might have the chance to meet Gnawa musicians?

I’m planning my next trip outside Europe for next year, but unfortunately, I don’t have a choice with the dates—it’s late June to early July. Last year, I went to Japan for three weeks, and it was constantly 36-37°C with over 90% humidity. It wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t impossible either.
For Egypt, I know it’s a period to avoid if possible, but I’m thinking that by the sea, it might be manageable. Otherwise, I’ll consider another destination.
Day 1: Arrival in Hurghada in the evening
Day 2, 3, 4: Hurghada
Day 5: Hurghada, then drive to Luxor in the early afternoon
Day 6: Luxor
Day 7: Luxor, then drive back to Hurghada in the late afternoon
Day 8, 9, 10, 11: Hurghada
Day 12: Return flight
For the Hurghada trip, either rent a car or—easier—a private car/van.
Is it worth adding an extra day in Luxor?
During the stay, we’re planning activities like camel rides, quad biking, jeep tours, snorkeling, and jet skiing.
