Nous sommes un couple de 39 et 41 ans qui venons de prendre la décision de partir à Nice en septembre prochain pour 2 belles semaines. Un autre rêve qui se réalisera sous peu!!
Tout d'abord, nous préconisons les déplacements en bus, taxis et/ou en trains. Pour l'hébergement, nous allons avoir un hôtel à Nice tout au long du voyage car tout est près à part lorsque viendra notre petite escapade en Italie.
Comme chaque voyage, nous avons longuement hésité pour le choix des villes à visiter. Voici donc l'idée de notre itinéraire jusqu'à maintenant.
Effectivement, ça semble chargé mais si on se fie à nos voyages précédents en Italie et Espagne, nous sommes du genre ambitieux mais nous avons toujours été capables d'y arriver et en voir le plus possible.
Pour ce qui est de l'Italie, on a hésité longtemps entre San Remo et Cinque Terre mais vu qu'on a dû laisser tomber Cinque Terre lors d'un précédent voyage on pencherait plus pour cette destination. Je sais qu'il faut s'attendre à plus de déplacement mais ça vaudrait la peine.

Salut meltoupie que veut tu dire quand tu parle du train des merveile ( travaux) a tu entendu parlé de quel que chose , nous y seront a compté du 13 sept et ces dans nos projets soit le ptit train des pignes ou celui des merveilles
On mentionne que des travaux débuteraient le 4 sept prochain jusqu'en 2018. Pas de chance pour nous ! Par contre, c'est absolument à découvrir donc on va sûrement le faire avec les autres alternatives.
Pour Cinque Terre, c'est très loin de Nice. J'avoue que c'est un pensez-y bien!
On suggère sur certains sites d'y aller pour 3-4 jours vu la distance. En bref, si on part de Nice, c'est 3h30 en auto, 5h42 en train et bus et 7h en train. On n'est pas à l'aise de louer et conduire une voiture. Par contre, ce serait la meilleure option.
Si on garde cette belle région dans l'itinéraire, ce sera notre plus grande distance en train pour ce voyage-ci.
Sinon ce sera intégré à notre prochain voyage en Italie. On regrette un peu de ne pas l'avoir fait lorsque nous étions allés visiter Pise mais bon il fallait faire des choix.
Si pas trop crevés en arrivant à Nice, vous pourriez prendre directement à l'aéroport un bus Flixbus pour Gênes, puis le train pour les Cinqueterre et donc commencer par ceci, puis revenir à Nice par la suite...
En effet, les Cinque Terre sont loin de Nice et, sans auto, pas facilement atteignables sauf à prendre le train et perdre beaucoup de temps à l'aller et au retour de et vers Nice. Je recommanderais d'intégrer cette sortie dans une visite de l'Italie.
Peut être devriez vous reconsidérer votre position vis à vis de la location d'auto pour pouvoir profiter de la région... et des Cinque Terrre ! Vous pouvez réserver une auto à boîte automatique sans problème. La conduite dans cette région n'est pas pire qu'ailleurs et sur la côte, on ne roule pas vite. L'autoroute, depuis Nice, vous mènera(it) à proximité des CinqueTerre quasiment sans interruption.
Après, sur place, la gestion du parking de l'auto peut être problématique.
Sans aller si loin, une auto vous sera(it) utile pour voir la Vallée des Merveilles (s'en approcher) et aussi monter à Eze Village (je vis personnellement sur le bord de mer), au village de Roquebrune Cap Martin, faire le tour du Cap, aller vous promener à Saint Jean Cap Ferrat (magnifiques villas au grand calme), ainsi qu'à Saint Agnès. N'omettez pas l'arrière pays ligure italien où je peux vous donner des coins à voir sans beaucoup de touristes et où l'on mange fort bien.

L'idée de debuter notre périple par Cinque Terre en tout premier lieu aurait été l'idéal. Je n'y avais pas pensé du tout. Disons que j'avais seulement dans l'idée la ville San Remo en tête au début vu qu'un de mes amis c'est ce qu'il a fait il y a qq années. Là vu que j'ai déjà réservé mes hôtels sans annulation je suis coincée comme on dit. Je préfère ne pas recommencer tout ça. Jai passe bcp de temps dans ces recherches aussi.
Je crois qu'il va falloir reconsidérer plusieurs aspects en effet de ce superbe voyage qui approche à grands pas d'ailleurs!!! Voiture ou non, Italie ou non sinon on remplace par quoi ?

Ayant vécu plusieurs années à Nice (j'y reviens également régulièrement) j'ai écrit un petit récapitulatif des choses à y voir sur mon blog, les classiques mais aussi ce qui est plus "secondaire", ainsi que les alentours.
Je me permets de proposer mon lien :
Les déplacements dans la région sont lents, pour aller à Grasse, comptez 1h30, quand tout va bien (entre les bouchons et problèmes de train...)
Je ne connais pas les 5 Terre mais je n'en entends que du bien, même si ça fait un peu loin de Nice. San Remo je n'ai pas trouvé ça exceptionnel, les 5 Terre ont l'air bien mieux !
Moins cher que l'hôtel, vous pouvez regarder pour un Airbnb, cela vous permettrait également de cuisiner un peu, les restaurants sont assez chers à Nice.
Néanmoins, il existe quelques réductions avec Lafourchette (explications complètes dans le lien), cela permet de bien manger sans trop se ruiner 😛
Ne manquez pas de gouter à la socca, spécialité niçoise, et de déguster une bonne glace (chez Fenocchio par ex, dans le Vieux Nice, mais là où je les trouve vraiment meilleures c'est chez Arlequin vers la gare)

Pour la partie française (au moins) de votre périple je vous conseille vraiment de louer une voiture. Le train ne dessert que le bord de mer et c'est très long !!!
A part pour visiter Cannes et Monaco depuis Nice, la voiture est vraiment plus pratique dès qu'on veut s'éloigner du bord de mer. En train/bus vous risquez de perdre beaucoup de temps.
Et je ne sais pas pour la ligne Nice-Tende, mais la ligne Cannes Grasse est totalement fermée pour travaux jusqu'en décembre 2017.
Bon voyage dans notre belle région, septembre est (souvent) un mois idéal pour la visiter. 😉
Hélas les transports ne sont pas très efficaces... Par manque de voiture j'ai loupé plein de choses là-bas, j'ai du attendre mon copain et sa voiture (en venant de Paris) mais maintenant j'y redescends seule et en train et c'est vrai que ça limite.
Par contre pour le bord de mer le train est pratique car dans tous les cas vivent les bouchons !

Pour les repas, je le sais c'est parfois dispendieux. Vu que nous sommes assez épicurien de ce côté donc on a prévu. Voilà pourquoi on préfère mettre moins l'emphase sur l'hébergement mais davantage en repas. Nous serons effectivement gâtés car je pense avoir noté une page de trucs à goûter absolument ! On va se régaler !
Côté transport, mon copain hésite toujours mais il réfléchit... ;-) Nous sommes conscients sinon que nous allons avoir un rythme plus ralenti et différent de nos précédents voyages. Par contre nous allons admirer le tout autrement et nous serons en mode vacance!!!
Je prends note travaux entre Cannes et Grasse Comme c'est le cas pour le train des Merveilles. Je n'avais pas vu ça non plus.
Pour les repas on nous a conseillé de préferé le déjeuné au resto comparativement au diné , pour gouté la gastronomie sans avoir a payé le gros prix et nous nous contenterons de plus léger pour le diné que nous prendrons au studio que nous avons loué
Je ne sais pas si la question m'était directement adressée, mais je connais mal Marseille, et pas fan de Saint-Tropez, que je connais mal aussi. C'est loin de Nice et embouteillée pour y aller.
5h de transport dans la journée pour voir Saint-Tropez... je recommande pas. Du temps perdu pour un endroit surfait.
je comprends que vu de l'étranger ça puisse attirer, mais des jolis villages et ports il y a plein, pas besoin d'aller si loin. Saint-Tropez c'est mignon mais pas exceptionnel.
Préférez Villefranche-sur-Mer, limitrophe de Nice et accessible rapidement en bus (à 1€ le trajet avec une carte 10 trajets) ou le train, et toute aussi mignonne, à la vieille ville plus pittoresque.
Par bateau, je trouve intéressant, vues sur rochers roses de l'Esterel; sur place, à part le bling bling, musée Annonciade, citadelle, etc. Une agréable journée de détente...
Une balade en bateau c'est une belle idée à considérer !
Je vais en discuter et intégrer ça que ce soit pour Cannes ou St-Tropez. Ce serait agréable d'être au grand air tout en longeant la rive de la Côte D'Azur!

We’re planning a short trip at the end of July to explore the legendary mountains and valleys of the Bernese Oberland: round trip from Nancy (Swiss highway vignette planned), 2 nights in a room with a small kitchen in Adelboden, then 2 nights in a hotel at the Gletscherblick in Grindelwald, both with half-board included.
Could you share some tips on the best road routes to take, as well as some walking hikes (we’re not as fit as we used to be, so nothing longer than 2-3 hours)? Maybe also 1 or 2 cable car rides—I was thinking of Oeschinensee Lake above Kandersteg and the First gondola above Grindelwald for better panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau... all while keeping it doable with our schedule. We’ve ruled out the "premium" trip up to the Jungfraujoch for this time.
I’m also guessing that paying to access Wengen or Mürren only makes sense if we’re staying there for a few days, right?

I visited the Faroe Islands in late March 2026 for about ten days. I was invited by a friend who lives near Tórshavn, so I don’t have any info on tourist accommodations or car rentals. Still, I’d like to share a few thoughts about my trip:
- Before leaving, I consulted travel guides and blogs. I was surprised by how repetitive and unoriginal the featured sites were. This leads hurried travelers to follow the same overcrowded routes, which can annoy locals. I found that all Faroese villages were interesting—they reflect the country’s identity, even without the iconic grass-roofed houses. Those are indeed harmonious and beautiful, but they feel like an exotic cliché. For activities, I loved the lively ports that keep the country running.
- I was annoyed by the paid trails in tourist spots. Locals explained that these paths cross private land, and owners are responsible for maintenance and safety. There are plenty of free trails, too—signs at the start detail their features. While not alarmist, the extreme and unpredictable weather is a key factor to consider before setting out.
- The wind’s strength really impressed me. The architecture, with doors and windows opening outward to prevent gusts from blowing roofs off, speaks to the harsh climate. Some days, relentless rain and squalls made going outside unappealing. I realized that in this country, it’s best to plan for flexible indoor days.
- Distances are relatively short. I was happy to be based near Tórshavn because it was easy to explore one or more places in a day. The roads are in great condition. In late March, diesel was 2 €. Tunnel tolls can add up (~26 € per crossing), making a fixed base less practical than I’d thought.
- Everyone agrees: the landscapes are breathtaking. Nature feels untamed here—except for the short grass, thanks to all the woolly sheep.
- The flight from Paris to the Faroe Islands (and back) was long in March—11 hours with three legs: Paris-Amsterdam, Amsterdam-Copenhagen, Copenhagen-Vágar. In bad weather, Vágar Airport can close, causing delays. During tourist season, Atlantic Airways offers a direct Paris-Faroe Islands flight, which is more comfortable and cheaper.
- I found a book recommendation in a guide that fascinated me after my trip: *Les collectionneurs d'images* by Joanes Nielsen. Through its sometimes caricatured characters, it offers a glimpse into Faroese mentalities from the 1950s to 1970s—attitudes that likely persist today.
In conclusion, I’ve traveled a lot and I’m tired of destinations that all start to look the same. The Faroe Islands were a delight—a country stunning in its landscape, climate, and culture, where tourism has barely altered its authenticity.

We’re heading to Bavaria from May 13 to 23, with a side trip to Austria.
Here’s our itinerary:

Day 2: Munich
Day 3: Munich and departure for Salzburg
We’ll be staying three nights in Salzburg.
Then we’ll head to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where we’ll stay for five nights.
Visiting Munich and Salzburg isn’t too tricky.
Once in Garmisch, we’re planning a day in Innsbruck, a day for Neuschwanstein Castle, and the rest is still up in the air.
What’s really got me stumped is that we’d love to see Königssee Lake—everyone says it’s a must-see.
We’d also like to visit the Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus), where the landscapes are supposedly stunning.
This would either be a round trip while we’re in Salzburg or on the way between Salzburg and Garmisch, but I’m guessing it’s impossible to do the drive from Salzburg to Garmisch, the Eagle’s Nest, *and* Königssee Lake all in one day.
Plus, the Alpine route between Salzburg and Garmisch seems prettier than the highway.
But honestly, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with the planning.
We should’ve added a stop between Salzburg and Garmisch, but the hotels are already booked.

We’re planning a trip to Finland and Norway this summer, starting in Oulu to explore Lapland, heading up to the North Cape, and then making our way down to Bergen.

D5: Head to Ronda (2.5-hour drive) and spend the night
D6: White Villages and overnight in Ronda
D7: Head straight to the Costa del Sol (e.g., Estepona), spend the day and night there
D8: Return to Malaga to catch our flight
There you go! This itinerary takes into account that we’d like to do a circuit starting from Seville in a few years. That said, it’d be a shame to miss something doable from Malaga.
Questions:
Since the Alhambra visit is only at 5 PM, and we’d already have the day to explore Granada, would arriving the day before be a mistake? Or should we skip this day and dedicate it elsewhere (Costa del Sol? Head toward Tabernas?)? The old town appeals to me, but maybe the Sacromonte neighborhood isn’t essential...
Same question for Ronda: should we dedicate a full day to it, or combine Ronda and the White Villages in one day?
Note that we love wandering around villages outside, so that might answer my question! :)
Final question: Is it better to rent the car at Malaga Airport or in the city? If we rent at the airport, we’d need a hotel with parking, which doesn’t seem easy. Or stay outside the city and park for free near the center if possible? I’ve read comments about taking a taxi to Malaga and then picking up the rental car at the airport the next morning. The taxi would really need to be affordable...
