We're leaving on January 28th for a trip around Rajasthan.
I'm trying to fill out the online form to get our visa, but when I reach the 3rd page and hit submit to move to the next one, everything gets erased and I can't continue.
I've tried from multiple computers, our iPhones, and different browsers—nothing works. Has anyone else run into this issue? Thanks
Hi there,
In November, we're heading off on a 4-month trip. We'll be landing in China and plan to leave the country via a land border into Vietnam.
I’ve read that China may ask for proof of exit within 30 days (flight ticket or other reservation). Since we’d be leaving by land, I’m wondering how this works in practice.
Has anyone here been in this situation recently?
Did the airline ask for an exit ticket before boarding? Did Chinese authorities require proof upon arrival? Is a train/bus ticket to Vietnam sufficient? Is a cancelable or flexible reservation accepted?
Thanks for sharing your experiences! 😊

Hi there,
We need to apply for a B2 visa because we visited Iran in 2018. It currently costs $185, but they’re planning an additional $250 fee per person for the same visa—it’s been approved but not yet implemented. Does anyone know when this fee will take effect?
Thanks in advance!

Hi there,
We’re a group of 7 people heading to SRI LANKA in March.
We’re transiting through Mumbai (Air India flight), then after a few hours, we’ll take a SriLankan Airlines flight to Colombo.
The return trip follows the same route 26 days later.
The issue is about the Indian visa.
1- Do we need an Indian visa since we’ll only be at Mumbai Airport for a few hours (no checked baggage)?
2- Do we need a double-entry visa?
Thanks for your help—everything I’ve read online is pretty unclear.

Hello,
We’re heading to Cambodia for a trip. We have a 2h50 layover in Ho Chi Minh City on the way out and a 3h45 layover in Hanoi on the way back.
Do we need a visa for this transit? Thanks for your help...
Hi there,
We’re heading to Chile for two weeks at the end of December. I’m traveling with my son (17 years old). His mom, whom I’m divorced from, won’t be with us.
I’ve read on several sites—including official Chilean ones—that a Chilean exit permit is required for minors if they’re not accompanied by both parents. According to these sites, this authorization needs to be done at the Chilean consulate in Paris and then legalized upon arrival in Santiago.
This formality seems really cumbersome for French tourists who arrive together and leave together just two weeks later...
Has anyone here got reliable info on this? Thanks,
Thomas

Hi,
We're heading to Zanzibar in 6 weeks.
I've been stuck for several days on the website https://visa.immigration.go.tz/ because we need to specify whether we're employed or self-employed, but the "employer" and "profession" fields are grayed out. It's a roadblock—I can't move on to the next step.
I thought it might be a temporary bug, but that's not the case.
I've tried filling out the form on my computer using two different browsers, on my phone, but I keep getting stuck at the same step.
I emailed their contact address but haven't heard back.
Has this happened to any of you?
I don't know how to resolve this issue, especially to get our visas before our departure.
Thanks for your help.

Hi everyone, we’re driving to Austria via Switzerland and we’d love some clarity on the highway stickers and tolls. Do we need one sticker to enter Austria and another for the tolls? I’m a bit lost here.

hi
we’ve got a 16-hour layover at Shanghai Airport in March 2026—is it easy to leave and come back? Do we still need a visa? Or do we have to return to clear customs? Do we need to buy another ticket? Thanks for your help

Hello,
We’re planning to travel to Indonesia (Sulawesi with family) next July and August for a stay longer than a month (about 6 weeks).
I’ve seen that it’s possible to get a 60-day visa before departure, but I’ve also read about people having a lot of trouble getting it (some even didn’t manage and had to leave without it).
We absolutely need to have these 4 visas BEFORE leaving because once we’re in Sulawesi, I’m not sure we’ll be able to go to an embassy to request a visa extension after 30 days.
In short, how can we **100% guarantee** that we’ll get our 4 60-day visas before our trip this summer?
Thanks for your valuable tips!
Elodie

Hi there,
We're heading to Japan in November and planning to rent a car. According to the Japanese embassy, the rules for translating the license have changed. You can no longer do it from France since April 1st. Has anyone already tried the new process?
Help,
We're looking for insurance for our vehicle that we're taking to Southern Africa for our 6-month trip. Thanks for your help.

Hi everyone,
We’re leaving for Australia soon and renting a car for the different legs of our trip.
We have our French license plus the international driving permit, but I read in the rental agency’s rules that they require an international permit written in English.
However, on the "France Diplomatie" website, it doesn’t mention that the international permit has to be in English.
For those of you who’ve already been to Australia—can you confirm whether our French-language international driving permit is enough, or should I get an urgent translation?
Thanks for your feedback—takeoff is August 20th!🤪

Hi there,
We’re planning to drive to Senegal by car. We’re a little nervous because it’ll be our first time making the trip with a car that isn’t ours. We’re doing the trip to deliver it to its owner. Has anyone here done this before? What documents will we need?
Thanks in advance for your tips!

Hi,
We’re heading to Tanzania at the end of the year and I’d like to know where I can apply for the e-visas because I’ve found some sites, but they’re charging more than what I was told.
It’s not the official site, and I’m struggling to find it.
Do you have the direct official link, please? Thanks so much for your help! 😊
Hi there,
we’re planning our trip to the North Cape this summer. We bought a new vehicle for it. Unfortunately, the registration document is still being processed, and the delay seems long—I don’t think I’ll have it in time for our departure...
I have the transfer documents, insurance in my name, and all the supporting paperwork, but not the registration document. So my question is: does the ferry company require the registration document *mandatorily* when boarding in Denmark or not?
Thanks for any insights...
Hello,
We’ll soon be moving to Madagascar long-term.
As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).
If you have any info on this, I’d appreciate your replies.
Best regards,
M. Buisson Eric
Hello,
We’re traveling as a family to China this summer, from late July to late August. However, my kids’ passports expire at the end of January 2026, which means they’ll have about 5 months of validity left after our departure. Many travel agencies recommend having more than 6 months of validity! I haven’t found any official information about this requirement. As a precaution, the best thing would be to renew them, but before I realized this, I bought domestic flight tickets using their current passport numbers. I’m worried these tickets might no longer be valid...
Thanks for your help if you have any info on this topic.
Hello,
We’re leaving in November 2025 for a stay of more than 60 days in Khao Lak and need to apply for a 30-day extension on-site to be allowed to stay nearly 90 days. Should we declare the flight ticket dates (November 13, 2025, to February 9, 2026) directly on the electronic form (if it’s applied from May 1st) before leaving, at the risk of being denied entry (over 60 days), or declare 60 days and quickly apply for a 30-day extension once there? Are flight tickets checked upon arrival (Phuket) or earlier on the electronic entry request? I remember that the arrival check is quite "serious" and after 18 hours of travel, you’re pretty impressionable! Thanks for your help, Best, Bruno.

Hello,
We’re French nationals planning a tourist trip to Asia with the following itinerary:
First entry into Thailand from Paris: 3 days in Bangkok (visa exemption).
Departure to Cambodia (we have a Cambodia e-visa) then to Laos (we have a Laos e-visa) for 5 days in each country, totaling 10 days outside Thailand.
Second entry into Thailand from Laos: 8 days in Chiang Mai (visa exemption) before returning to Paris.
This means two entries into Thailand in less than a month, with a total stay of 11 days in the country.
**Can you confirm if we can do this trip under the visa exemption policy, or do we need to apply for a double-entry tourist visa?**
Thanks for your help!

Hi, we’re heading to Laos for 3 weeks from December 12 to January 1, 2025. We land in Bangkok. We’d like to know if we need a visa for a very short stay in Thailand since we’ll just be passing through. I read that since July 2024, a visa isn’t required for stays under 30 days. Is that correct?
Thanks for your help! Elise

hi everyone
We’ll be applying for a retiree OA visa by September. For our part, we’ll head back to France for a bit and return a month BEFORE our current OA visa expires to renew it at immigration. We’ve emailed several immigration offices but haven’t gotten any responses. We’ve searched online for info but haven’t found anything. What we’re really interested in is knowing which documents they’ll ask for at the immigration office in Phang Nga, for example, for our renewal. We’ve seen all the paperwork needed for the initial OA visa on the official online visa application site... but for the renewal, do we need to provide ALL the same documents? Thanks in advance

Hi,
We're heading to Germany in August. Finally, after all this time I wanted to go back to Germany :)
I think I need an eco sticker for my car, but I'm not sure.
I found this info:
"Since June 1, 2022, it’s no longer necessary to buy the German eco sticker to drive in Freiburg-im-Breisgau’s Umweltzonen (low-emission zones).
The Crit'Air sticker, rated from 0 to 3, is recognized by the authorities."
Could you tell me the name of the website where I can find this info, please?
We’ll be staying in Brigachtal (Baden-Württemberg). We’ll visit Friedrichshafen, Triberg, and Hohenzollern Castle.
Thanks :)
Thanks :)
Hi there, we’re spending March in Sri Lanka, and on several blogs travelers mention they’ve rented scooters or mopeds.
On government info sites, it seems they say you need a Sri Lankan license to rent these vehicles. Have any of you run into this kind of issue?
Thanks, Marie
Hi there,
We’re heading to Southeast Asia for several months as a family with two teens (10 and 13). The first country we’re visiting is Cambodia. I’m having an issue with the e-visa—it won’t accept any of the documents I’m attaching. I’ve validated all four e-visas and received the registration numbers, but when I check the application, it shows no attachments. I’ve tried multiple times in different formats (PDF, JPEG, PNG), whether compressed or not, but there’s always a red cross next to the documents.
Has anyone else run into this problem?
Thanks for your help—I’m losing patience, and our departure is in 15 DAYS 😕

Hi,
we’re heading to Barcelona soon, and the Airbnb host is asking us to fill out a PDF form with our names, ID card details, address, and even our signatures.
According to him, it’s one of the new rules for rentals in Barcelona.
I’m really worried our personal info might end up who-knows-where?
Has anyone else been in the same situation?
Thanks.
Have a great day.
Hi there,
We’re heading to Japan soon and booked a room through Booking for our first two nights.
The host is asking for a copy of our passports even though we’ve already paid.
What do you all think?
Thanks
Hi, we're heading to Cambodia. We have the e-arrival visa, which was introduced last September and needs to be done only 7 days before departure. I'd like to know if we can complete the declaration online instead of on the phone, which would require printing the declaration.
Thanks for your reply. Best regards
Hi everyone,
We’re French and we’d like to visit Algeria, especially Kabylie, for a stay of about ten days.
We’ll be renting a car
(which are the best car rental agencies?)
It seems that to get a tourist visa for less than 90 days, we need to show proof of accommodation + a flight confirmation from France to Algiers. (Which hotels in Algiers do you recommend? And which airlines?)
What should we do if the visa is ultimately refused? It’s not ideal if the response takes 2 months and we have to cancel the hotel and flight.
What do you suggest we do? What are the best practices?
Thanks in advance! Patrick from Nantes

Hi there,
We’re supposed to fly in four days—my partner, our two kids, and me—for a one-month trip to Cambodia. While applying for an e-visa, we just realized that both our passports won’t be valid for 6 months after our stay ends, which is a key requirement for getting a Cambodian visa. I don’t know how, but we totally missed this info!! Our tickets aren’t refundable, and we’ve booked several non-refundable hotels there too...
Has anyone been in this situation or have any ideas or solutions?
Thanks so much in advance!!!!
