Feedback on arriving at Manila Airport and visa extension
I'm planning to go there in the next 6 months. The last time was in 2009....
Thanks for your tips—they’ll definitely come in handy!
Indonesia C1 Visa Extension
Hi,
You can indeed get a 2-month visa, renewable multiple times.
This visa can be obtained in 2 ways: - At the consulate in Marseille or the Embassy in Paris - Online on the Indonesian Immigration website.
For my part, I used the website to apply: https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/ The process is fairly simple, even if it sometimes lacks intuitiveness.
Avoid holiday periods, especially the end of Ramadan, as applications aren't processed for several days...
Still, allow at least 15 days for a response, though it can be quicker.
For info, here’s a link to an online agency’s site for more details. Prices are obviously higher: https://www.action-visas.com/visa/Indonesie

Indonesia C1 Visa Extension
Hi everyone, I’m updating my post with new information, some of which answers my own questions...
The e-visa C1 (60-day tourist visa) can indeed be renewed online, at least partially. The process is done online, and at the end, you’ll receive an appointment at the local Immigration office.
However, be aware that the application is very poorly designed... In addition to having to create an account and log in, you must **not** click on the "tempting" buttons on the main page because they won’t work. Instead, use the links from the dropdown menu in the top right (three horizontal bars)... That’s the first thing to know.
For the renewal, everything is the same—your photo and passport are already on file, along with all the useful info from your initial application. You just need to fill in all the fields.
Even though a sponsor isn’t required for a tourist stay, you still have to upload a file in the sponsor field. Instead of a recommendation letter, you must combine into a single PDF: your return ticket (proof of exit from the country) and a letter with all your details, explaining that you’re requesting a visa extension for tourism purposes. Date and sign it (the form is available at Immigration).
You can then submit your request, and after paying online, you’ll receive an appointment at the local Immigration office for a "photo" and biometrics.
That’s the update for now...
...valid until the next change! !
Indonesia C1 Visa Extension
Hello,
Wouldn’t the nearest Immigration office to your stay know?
...relevant answer. It’s just that it’s the weekend and I’ve got a flight to Jogja on Monday. That’s why I wanted to get some firsthand experiences beforehand... To save myself from getting frustrated for no reason on the immigration website! 😅

Indonesia C1 Visa Extension
Hi there. I hold a 60-day C1 visa obtained online in early April, and I’ve been in Indonesia since April 14th.
I’d like to extend my visa, something I thought was possible online under the same conditions as when I got the visa—but oh no! I realize first that I can’t find my visa on the immigration website with the requested details (passport number, date of birth, nationality)... and also that it seems a sponsor is required for the C1 visa, not only for the extension but even for the initial visa application, which wasn’t asked of me before!!!!
So, I’m wondering how I should go about getting this extension... Has anyone gone through this experience? What solutions might there be, given I only have two weeks left to sort this out...
Thanks for your helpful feedback
How the Indonesian e-Visa website works

Is the Indonesian e-Visa website still working?
Hi,
Has anyone used the online visa application site for Indonesia recently? https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/
For the past two weeks, I haven’t been able to log in... Wondering if the site is still up and running...
Thanks for your feedback!
Online visa application for Indonesia
Hi,
It was indeed what I was planning to do, but that was before... Before the earthquake that’s making me reluctant to linger in Bangkok, as it’s still chaotic with some public transport still down, massive traffic jams, and the Aid and Nyepi festivals to consider—Indonesian consular services will be closed.
...
In short, the ideal would’ve been to apply online... but the website has been unreachable for days...
The solution you suggested is definitely an option, but I’d kept it as a last resort since I’d rather not leave and re-enter...
I’ll see... maybe I’ll wait a bit longer where I am now before heading back to BKK to handle things at the consulate... but in that case, not before April 8th... maybe the situation in Bangkok will have improved by then...
Wait and see!
Thanks for your feedback

Thailand visa exemption extension
Hi,
Due to unforeseen circumstances—a earthquake in Bangkok—I couldn’t get my visa for Indonesia in time, and my Thailand visa exemption expires on April 13. I’d like to extend my stay in Thailand by 30 days so I have time to apply for an Indonesian visa, as the procedures are on hold until April 8 due to the end of Ramadan celebrations and Nyepi (Bali).
I’m currently in Prachuap Khiri Khan and would like to know which is the nearest immigration office that can extend my visa exemption?
Just to note, I’ve heard conflicting info: it seems there’s an office in Dan Singkhon and another in Hua Hin. The first one is much closer—could someone confirm if it’s still operational for this kind of procedure, or do I have to go all the way to Hua Hin?
Thanks in advance!

Online visa application for Indonesia
Hi,
Currently in Thailand, I was supposed to return to Bangkok to apply for a visa at the Indonesian consulate. Given the state of emergency in Bangkok following the earthquake, I’m looking for a way to apply for my 2-month tourist visa (renewable once) online. I only have about 10 days left before my Thai visa expires.
Can anyone give me the correct website address and let me know the required documents and procedures?
Thanks in advance
One-way flight to Cambodia without a return ticket and formalities
Hi,
I’ll jump in on this!
....Continuation ticket....
Is it mandatory that it’s a flight ticket, or can it be a bus or train ticket?
If it’s a train or bus, which site would you recommend for buying it?
Thanks
Thailand Visa with One-Way Ticket
Hi,
Following up on your reply, would a train ticket from Bangkok to Vietnam (before the first 60 days) work for entering Thailand?
If so, which site is best to buy it from?
...Where is a flight ticket absolutely required?
Thanks for your replies...

Photos for Thai visa at the Ban Pakard border
Hello,
as written by Jungletroll, no need for a photo. But in Cambodia or Thailand, it's a great opportunity to get a small stash of cheap photos that you keep in your little bag, fanny pack, or whatever traveler's accessory. With the addition of a full suit and tie on Photoshop!
Have a good trip!
Hi, ...Just a few clarifications regarding your post: Are scanned ID photos acceptable, or do we need printed photos? (...and are ties actually required !!) Thanks

Thailand Visa with One-Way Ticket
Yes, but that’s done for 2025 without a visa. 😉
The issue with Thailand is that they regularly change the rules.
...If I understand correctly, we’re allowed to stay in Thailand for 2 X 60 days per year under the visa exemption rule... and beyond those 2 X 60 days annually, a visa is required?

Thailand Visa with One-Way Ticket
Can you use a flight or train ticket from Thailand to a neighboring country as proof of exit?
Hi, Yes. Proof of exit doesn’t necessarily have to be a return to your home country.
Thanks for confirming!

Thailand Visa with One-Way Ticket
Hello,
Currently, you can stay for 60 days (entry and exit days included) without a visa in Thailand. Thai law states that you must have proof of onward travel (return or continuation) before departure. After that, you can apply for a 30-day extension on-site before the initial 60 days expire—it costs around 1,900 baht, I think. Then, you exit to a neighboring country, return for another 60 days, and can extend again for 30 days. However, without applying for a visa extension, you’ll only be able to do one 60-day entry and that’s it until 2025. In any case, you must be able to show proof of onward travel for this type of stay.
Thanks for your reply.
What do you mean by "extension"? Is it obtained under the visa exemption, or does it count as a visa?
This sentence is what’s confusing me: "However, without applying for a visa extension, you’ll only be able to do one 60-day entry and that’s it until 2025."
As for the return or onward ticket, I’ve taken note of that!

Thailand Visa with One-Way Ticket
Hello,
As mentioned above, there's a 60-day visa exemption upon arrival in Thailand. A continuation ticket to another country is mandatory, and they may also ask for proof of departure.
Basically, you can't arrive with a one-way ticket. It's mainly the airline that can prevent you from boarding, and it's happened before.
Personally, I've often been checked, but I always had a continuation ticket.
For your info: Vietnam: 45-day exemption Malaysia: 90-day exemption Cambodia: 30-day visa Laos: 30-day visa
Thanks for your information and for confirming what I thought, as I wasn't entirely sure... I'll try to find a refundable or cheap flight or train ticket, since I don't yet have the exact date of my departure from Thailand. 😉

Hello,
obtaining a VOA upon arrival in Thailand
Few countries are eligible for the VOA (2000 Bahts, valid for 15 days), and EU countries aren't among them. You're mixing it up with the aptly named Visa Exemption, which the folks above have already explained to you.
...You're right! It's best to be precise... I think it's indeed a visa exemption and not a VOA. My bad.

Thailand Visa with One-Way Ticket
Hi there,
This will be my first trip to Thailand, which will be the first stop on my Asian journey. This time, I’d like to leave with a one-way ticket so I can return to France from the last country I visit.
First and foremost, I’d like to confirm whether it’s possible to get a VOA (Visa on Arrival) when I land in Thailand without any prior steps? Is proof of onward travel (like a return ticket) required to get this visa?
If so, does it have to be a round-trip ticket from the country I’m arriving from, or can I use a flight or train ticket from Thailand to a neighboring country as proof of exit?
For Cambodia and Vietnam, is it also possible to get a VOA on the spot?
I’d also love any tips or important info you think might be useful about Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam—my planned destinations—especially regarding accommodation, transportation, points of interest, and, of course, any personal advice or experiences you’d like to share!
Thanks so much to everyone, and I wish you all an amazing 2025 filled with health, travel, and discoveries! !
