Deeanne,
I am so sorry to hear about your story.
As posted in a previous message, I managed to receive my 80% refund despite losing some more through the exchange rate and bank transfer fees!
I hope you still have all the receipts and gems with you. You have to first get in touch with Mr. Suchat to lodge a report.
Then I sent my gems and documents to Department of Internal Trade Thailand (using Royal Mail in UK) in 3 packages - so that postal insurance will sufficiently cover in case of mail loss. Once they received it, they will start negotiations with the shop.
I contacted Mr. Suchat Sinrat from the Department of Internal Trade in Thailand. His email is compro@dit.go.th Phone numbers (in Bangkok) to call are +66 2-5475356 or +66 2-5475358.

By the way, did you purchase the gems using credit card? Was it a Visa or Mastercard? I heard that if you use a Visa, there might be an easier way to get your money back - check with Mr. Suchat. I, unfortunately, paid for my gems using Mastercard and the credit card company totally ignored my pleas!
Do let me know how it goes and keep us updated!
Fingers crossed for you. Good luck!

Hello,
I don't understand any French but a google of "Erawan Lapidary" brings up this site. I was conned by the same shop in February 2007 and currently, the Department of Internal Trade in Thailand is helping me to negotiate with the shop. I sent my jewellery to the Department of Internal Trade and they are in the process of getting a refund for me. Apparently, I am the first person to complain about Erawan Lapidary and they need more complaints from victims. I can definitely get 80% of my money back but am hoping to negotiate for more. Please do get in touch with me, so that we can figure out how to get back at Erawan! Merci, WL
