Feedback on Philippines itinerary
Hello,
We're leaving on March 17th, and we'll be in Luzon from the 18th to the 28th of March. If I have Wi-Fi, I'll share updates!
From Clark, we plan to take a bus to the Hundred Islands, then two days later Text another bus to Baguio. After that, we'll take a taxi or a van to Banaue.
Safe travels with your planning!
Thanks. Actually, I'll be there earlier—Luzon from March 16th to 23rd...! I'm still figuring out how to organize the trips; it's complicated.

Airswift Luggage El Nido - Bohol
Hi, I’ve read there are quite a few issues with Airswift. Is it worse than Cebu Pacific Air?
Cebu Pacific canceled my Cebu-San Vicente flight in March, and I’m not sure what to replace it with. Apparently, San Vicente airport is no longer served. Cebu Pacific only offers Puerto Princesa as an exchange option, or else I’d have to request a refund and book another ticket.
Since I’ll be in Siquijor for a few days, I could take a flight from Bohol (though they’re more expensive than from Cebu).
Alternatively, I was thinking of going through Dumaguete and then traveling up the east coast of Cebu Island by road to Cebu. I’m not sure if there are buses. I think I read that it’s a scenic route. What do you think?
If you have any tips, I’d love to hear them. Thanks!

Hello everyone, here's our itinerary. Arrival on the evening of December 13th. Departure on January 7th.
Thanks for your valuable advice and opinions.
Manila: 1 night Coron: 4 nights Coron to El Nido cruise: 2 nights El Nido: 4 nights Port Barton: 5 nights Flight from Puerto Princesa to Vigan Vigan: 2 nights Sagada: 2 nights Banaue: 2 nights Bagabag: 1 night Manila: 1 night I’ve only booked the flight to arrive in Manila and the Manila/Coron flight. Is it possible to book boat trips, accommodations, and the Puerto Princesa flight last minute?
Thanks in advance. Florence
Hi, did you end up taking this trip? Could you share your feedback on your Luzon routes? Did you take the Puerto Princesa to Vigan flight? I’m leaving soon. Thanks!

Hi there, have you done your trip yet? Could you share your experience, especially about your routes in Luzon to get to Banaue while making a few stops along the way? I’m leaving soon. Thanks! !

Hello,
a few questions about your trip: you mention a flight to Vigan. Are you considering Laoag Airport, the closest at 1.5 hours away?
Then how do you plan to get to Sagada? Crossing the Cordillera by bus seems really long. There’s probably the option of hiring a car with a driver... I’d love to hear about your experience because we’d like to do Sagada-Vigan at the end of March, but I’m afraid we’ll have to drop the idea given how complicated it seems.
Have a great trip!
Hi, were you able to find any info for this route? I’m wondering too—I wanted to avoid domestic flights, but the overnight bus from Manila to Sagada or Banaue isn’t ideal either, especially if you’re coming from somewhere else and don’t need to go back through Manila.

Cost of treks in the Banaue rice terraces
Thanks. Probably in March.
I’d also like to spend 2 nights there, and one at the end of the trek, just so I’m not rushing too much. But is it nice? Can you do things on your own there?
On Luzon Island, what else have you planned? How much time are you spending there?
I get the feeling that in this country, there are a lot of paid tours, but outside of that, things seem a bit tricky for tourists. It’s making me a little nervous—I might be traveling solo.

Cost of treks in the Banaue rice terraces
Hi,
Could recent travelers let me know the price for the 2D/1N trek in the rice terraces when booking directly on-site upon arrival? Is it possible to join a group? Thanks for your replies, best regards
Good evening, did you find the answer to your question elsewhere? Or have you already had the experience on-site yourself? I’m asking the same thing (maybe for a 3D/2N trek). Thanks

Sri Lankan rupees to exchange
Hi there, I’m posting because I also came back with some Sri Lankan rupees (about 30 €), so if anyone in the Marseille area or the southeast of France in general is interested, feel free to get in touch.
Visa / ETA Sri Lanka
Hi Anne,
Yes, still required, even though it was announced last week that it should become free. Keep a close eye on it, and you can do it 4 days before departure without any problem :-)

Visa / ETA Sri Lanka
Thanks for the reply.
Is it a maximum of 4 days before arrival?
Or on the spot—it’s a bit more expensive, I read—is there a long wait for that at the airport?
If there’s a chance it might become free any day now, maybe it’s better to wait and do it on the spot.
Visa / ETA for Sri Lanka
Hi there,
Is the visa still paid for, including for French travelers? Thanks in advance!
Sri Lanka Travel Journal – December 2024
Hi there, thanks so much for your travel journal! Could you also share some taxi contacts? We’re heading there soon too, and it’d be really helpful. Have a great day
4 days in the Maldives: what to see and do easily from the airport?
Thanks for the clarification. Atoll or not ;-), it's a privatized island for tourists, so it's different from the islands I was actually wondering about.
4 days in the Maldives: what to see and do easily from the airport?
Thanks for your reply.
But we were told to distinguish between "atolls" and "local islands." What I'm talking about are the islands shared with the local population and not privatized (atolls) by resorts.
Are you referring to the same thing, or are you talking about the atolls, which seem to be exclusively privatized?
The Pekoe Trail (Sri Lanka): possible to do independently?
Hi there, we’re heading to Sri Lanka in early February for 15 days. We’d like to do a few days of trekking and thought we’d need an agency and a guide, but we’ve heard about the Pekoe Trail—a long-distance trail that’s supposedly well-marked. Is that accurate? Is it doable on our own? I’d love to hear from anyone who’s familiar with it. Thanks!
Maldives: which islands for snorkeling and accessible by ferry from Malé?
Thanks so much for the info.
Do you know these islands well—have you been there before? Or is it from someone you know?
Hope your trip isn’t canceled for good!

Maldives: Which islands are best for snorkeling and accessible by ferry from Malé?
Was it January 6th or February 3rd for the departure?
We’ll be there in early February for a few days, and we’re interested in the answer too. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen many replies...!
If you’ve found any info elsewhere, feel free to share. Thanks.
4 days in the Maldives: what to see and do easily from the airport?
Hi there, we’re heading to Sri Lanka for two weeks next February and plan to stop over in the Maldives for about 4 days.
Which islands/accommodations can you recommend for a modest budget, and not too far from the airport? Some islands are reachable in a few hours by public ferry. But do they have beautiful beaches, translucent water, and nice fish and coral?
I’ve seen some reasonably priced places to stay but I’m struggling to get a sense of the quality/beauty of the beaches.
Thanks for your tips!
