Connecting with a school in Namche Bazaar
Hi there,
My partner and I are heading to Nepal for 15 days in March—she’s a schoolteacher. We’ll be trekking to Everest Base Camp and then doing the loop via the Gokyo Lakes.
We’d love to set up a fundraiser to donate to a school in Namche, along with visiting the school. It’s something that really matters to us. But it’s been tough to get in touch with a school—any ideas on how to go about this? Thanks!

Everest Base Camp & Gokyo Lakes Trek: Are guides absolutely mandatory?

We’re heading out in March for this trek. We’re used to hiking and long-distance treks, but this’ll be our first time in Nepal.
QUESTION: People from Nepal are telling us it’s MANDATORY to have guides! Is this true, or is it just agencies trying to get work for their staff?
The Lonely Planet says: "In April 2023, the government announced that every trekker would need to hire the services of a porter or a licensed guide to obtain the TIMS permit. The law isn’t enforced, and by 2025, there were no longer any obligations for teahouse treks."

Tour du Mont Blanc: éviter l'étape entre le Ferret et Issert?
Bonjour,
Nous partons faire le TMB début juillet. J'ai vu ici et là, que beaucoup ne font pas la partie entre ferret et issert... Pourquoi ? Il y a un bus (voire deux si j'ai bien compris) qui nous amène entre ferret et issert.
Auriez vous des explications de ce choix de prendre la navette ?
En combien d'étapes pensez vous qu'il soit nécessaire en marchant 7/8H par jour en moyenne et en faisant l'intégralité ?

Voyage à Sulawesi: temps de trajet entre Manado et Makassar?

Nous allons à Sulawesi en Janvier 2010 et je voulais savoir s'il était possible (et cela vaut-il le coup) de faire Manado à Makassar ???
J'ai vu que c'est une île assez montagneuse... Existe-t-il des transport en commun (bus, train...) ???

je pars pour l'Indonésie en octobre-novembre prochain, et je voulais savoir si c'etait possible de prendre un bateau de l'Indonésie jusqu'à l'Australie ?
Qq'un a deja fait cela ?
Peut-etre en voilier si qq'un en possède un dans cette région et passerait par là pour faire un bout de chemin ensemble ? 🙂
